Why does everyone like this skirt so much? I saw all the five-star reviews and ordered immediately. But it's all gathered and bunchy (just like the picture, I should have known) and hits me almost at mid-calf (I'm 5'9"). It may have an A-line cut but you wouldn't know it from the lumpy way it falls. Nothing terribly peasant-like about it.

Love this skirt! This skirt is perfect! It is comfortable and stylish, and just like many XCVI's other skirts you don't have to worry about it looking rumpled after wearing it for 12 hours. I get a ton of compliments every time I wear it. I am 5 months pregnant and use XCVI's skirts and pants with the fold-over knit waistbands instead of maternity clothes. What a stylish way to waltz through pregnancy! The size XS is a perfect size 2 fit. The only complaint I have is that the next size up (S) is a 4-6, which is too big for a size 4 person. I tried buying one for my sister who is a size 4 - it is way too big for her. It would be good to have a separate size 4 and 6. All in all a thumbs up!

Just adore this skirt! It's funky, but not over the top, extremely comfortable, but also stylish. A pair of high heeled gladiator shoes give it just the right edge, feminine, but a little daring.

Love this skirt! My weight fluctuates from month to month, and this skirt is comfortable no matter what! It's slimming, too, because of the gores, and insets which make it have long lean lines.

This is the most awesome skirt you will ever wear. Runs a little big, but you can shrink it. Add to that the yoga-like fold-over, and it works. I can hike in this skirt!

I had been looking for this skirt for quite some time. The quality was great, a little pricey, but worth it.

Great skirt - the 3rd I've ordered because it's easy to throw on and hides a lot! The waist band is a little odd but comfy - hard to find a shirt that fits to the top of the waistband if you fold the waistband over to sit at hip level, but if you pull it up, it adds bulk at the waist. I usually pull the waist band up, but then wear a shirt that flows over it & a long cardigan or even a cute soft jacket that sort of hides the waist.

I love this skirt! I would not normally spend this much on a skirt, but I wear this skirt all the time. XCVI items are so flattering that they are all I will buy from now on!

I have this skirt in black, and it's awesome! I wear it constantly but Zappos can't keep them in stock! I ordered the white but it was so sheer I sent it back. If you don't mind a bit of sheerness the white would be good, but not me. The black is awesome I've been wearing it for going on two years and it washes and wears great and is flattering to just about any figure: forgiving in the waist; runs slightly large...depending on how you want the hips to fit. It's my favorite skirt ever. I love all the XCVI skirts that have the elastic band at the waist. Not fond of the draw string ones.

Love, love, love this skirt. Had one like it years ago and am so glad to have another. All the teachers at my son's daycare just complimented me on it when I dropped him off this morning, and one really pressed hard to find out where I bought it. It's beachy/flip-flop/t-shirt perfect and would also be edgy with a black, funnel neck zip up cardigan I have and some boots. Love!

Absolutely my favorite long skirt ever!

I had to go to great lengths to get my XCVI Peasant Skirt! Zappos do not deliver internationally... but I was desperate! I am fortunate to have a great friend in Florida who agreed to receive my Zappos delivery and then post it to me in Australia. It took a little extra time of course, but it was worth it. I love my Peasant Skirt! The fabric is ideal for the climate here and the style is so flattering! I love the versatility it offers as well - dress it up or down. I also love the length! I am waiting for the denim Peasant skirt to restock sizes! (Hurry Zappos - Winter is arriving here in Australia!) As so many have said already in reviews... the fit is generous so you can confidently order at least one size smaller!

This is the cutest skirt of all time; I get tons of compliments on it - totally hip.

I love my skirts, I have bought every color they have, love the elastic fold over top, very becoming and flattering to the figure. Love the fabric, well made, I have tried to buy every piece of clothing they make just about. I do like the fold over waist the best. I have a smaller waist than below, and oftentimes the waist of fitted things gapes at the back. This fits so nicely.

I enjoyed wearing the skirt. Got several compliments as it is unique and comfortable and that appeals to me.

I was thrilled to learn Zappos carried XCVI! I bought an XCVI skirt from a local retailer a few years ago and have worn it to death! When I saw Zappos carried this line I ordered four more skirts. I kept two and returned two. I love the two I kept. So comfy and I get tons of compliments on them. They are chic, yet practical. A must have if you travel for work or pleasure. Can be dressed up or down. I took advantage of Zappos very generous shipping and return policy. This was a huge plus for me. I need hassle free online shopping and Zappos delivered. As far as XCVI, when it comes to skirts the brand runs large; buy a size or two smaller than you normally would (I'm 5' 5" and 125 lbs and an extra small is just right with this brand). Great experience with Zappos and XCVI. Enjoy!

This skirt is very cute, flattering, and very fun all year round. I really like the fold over top because the skirt can be worn pulled up, like a dress, or around the waist, too. Love the XCVI products! I own many of them and always get compliments!

Very flattering! Only issue is that it's a bit sheer. I have a lot of tattoos and you can see them on my backside through the skirt so I'll be wearing a slip. If that doesn't bother you then have at it!

This skirt is very comfortable, but it runs large. I am only 5' 3" so the length was a an issue. My Mom discovered that I can pull the waist band up and wear it like a halt dress. Once I did this it was great. More comfortable and the perfect length. I don't think I can wear it as a skirt unless I get it shortened.

I absolutely love this skirt - it got me following XCVI. Why? First, it is cotton, not polyester and not jersey. It looks good no matter what - whether I am fatter or not. Secondly, it is flattering and very stylish. I have yet to see anyone else with one, and I have had mine for years. Third reason is comfort. It is so breathable and just my go-to skirt. And the fourth reason is that I have legs. This skirt is long enough for a person who has legs for days and is short-waisted. It just looks so smart. Did I say I love this skirt? And this is my second one of these I am purchasing this exact version. Why? Somehow, a bleach mark on the lower edge of my skirt that came from only the devil knows where as I do not use chlorine bleach in the wash. For a while, Zappos did not have this style. So I bought a several other similar XCVI long peasant skirts. none of them came close to this one. I am not a denim girl, and the jersey version is not forgiving. Even the XCVI site does not sell this version. So today I will by another one at the size below my previously one as my weight is doing the yo-yo and is closer to the lower yo. Final point, the price on Zappos today is significantly lower than when I first purchased one. So, I am in to Zappos today for a couple pairs of shoes and this skirt. I hope that the shoes fit because I know this skirt will. Now if only I could get Zappos to convince North Face to return to the prior heavy cotton long sleeve t-shirts that I (and many North Face purists) love. Then I would be exceedingly glad. However this purchase is a really good start.

I wear XCVI skirts exclusively. I constantly get stopped and told my skirt is fantastic and where I got it (who makes it, etc.). I wear both the drawstring waisted version of this skirt and this one - the soft cotton/lycra fold-over waist version. I love them both - and I prefer these longer lengths (tea-length or slightly longer). I purchased some soft-as-can-be fine-wale corduroy fabric versions of these styles a couple of years ago but have not seen the corduroy fabric skirts make a comeback yet (and I sure wish they'd surface again - each year come Autumn and Winter). What I'd like to suggest very strongly (!) is that you offer this skirt in a multitude of color options. You used to offer this in a sand color (pale tan) and several other colors as well (sort of a light cocoa color too which was just classically neutral and wonderful as much as the sand/pale tan color was and is), and then a navy and also a medium toned gray/blue, then a charcoal color, etc. I have purchased so many of these skirts from you all over the years but as the years go on I observe you just are not offering the same level of choices (corduroy fabric once Autumn rolls around and many color choices all year 'round) in this and the drawstring version as you used to offer up. Please realize that this long fold-over cotton and lycra skirt and the long drawstring waist version constitute the best of the best in terms of looks and comfort and "longevity factor." They also wash so well (they are pre-washed when you get them and the styling is so great that you never have to worry about "wrinkling" (since they're naturally gathered and "ruched"). Thanks for your inquiry about my opinions whereas this skirt is concerned and for (hopefully) acting on what I have been hoping for (more of these skirts and more color choices all the time!).

I bought this skirt a few years ago from another site and wore it out. It is perfect, funky, unique, and I always get compliments on it. So glad I found it again at Zappos!

I own three of these skirts. Very comfortable and flattering. Also very long. I've had all of mine hemmed by at least 5", but then I'm only 5' tall.

I first found one of these skirts in a consignment shop. I was crazy about it and then a year later I found another one in a different color! I started searching on the internet and finally found the XCVI label. Even though they are a bit over the top on price for me, I am still going to buy as many as I can afford! I am 68 years old and an artist. These skirts and pants hold just the right amount of "artistic flair" when accompanied with my own accessories. I get a lot of compliments even from strangers when I wear them. I plan to "grow old" wearing these...keep making and selling this style!
