I like the Levi brand and have since high school working the family farm, however, it does appear the pants have changed. I still like the fit, but it does not have the same thickness of cloth and I doubt it will hold up to heavy work. My choice of color was wrong as well. I do like the lighter color but the artificial stone washing is just that, artificial in appearance. Regardless, I like the fit and will wear them until they fall off. Thanks.

Shipping was fast but the pants I ordered, I believe, were rejects. One leg was 1/2 inch longer then the other.

Color is much different than pictured. I bought the "rinse" color which I later noticed is of a pair of 514s with a real nice wash. The "rinse" 517s are DARK plain blue with gold stitching. No wash character to them at all, solid blue. They fit GREAT. The cut is very similar to my 7s that I have. Levi's is crazy for not offering better looking colors and washes in this cut. The 527 is a relaxed cut; these are much better. Undecided on whether or not I'll return them. They look okay, fit great.

The jeans are too long. They are supposed to be a 30 inch inseam but seem to be a half inch beyond that. Both 517 jeans I ordered (and kept) are too long. I will have to go to the expense of having them altered.

I'm 65 years old and have worn Levi's my whole life. As I've gotten older, my waist has grown faster than my height (I've gotten fatter!) I still wear Levi's. But it's almost impossible to find my size (34 x 29). I don't know if Levis quit making jeans in my size but I couldn't find any until I saw these on Zappos. I ordered 2 pair and they arrived quickly. But when they got here, they were way too long - at least a 31. It's almost like the label was wrong (it said 34x29). Since I was having so much trouble finding my size, I kept them. I had to take them to a tailor to have them shortened!

I really like the 517s. I have bought these for years.

Great pair of jeans! They are comfortable and fit really well. The color is slightly different than in the picture but it doesn't bother me at all. I am very happy with this purchase. Zappos service was excellent as usual.

517 Boot Cut is the only pair of jeans from Levi's that compliments my body type. Hope Levi's never discontinue this style. I bought four pair in two installments; Zappos delivered each in time the following day (less than 24 hours).

A little high waisted for my liking being 6'8"; however, the 36" inseam was longer than expected.

I realized with my last review I didn't actually describe the jean & fit. The Rinse seems to be a sturdy durable denim, color is as pictured a very dark almost raw denim, the waist sizing is true, the length seems to be maybe a 1/2 inch long but that is part of the appeal of 517's. They are a slim fit, mainly in the thighs, past the knee they begin to flare into a boot cut. But nothing too dramatic, the effect is elegant & classic. Great jean with pretty much anything.

Fantastic pair of pants. I love the 517's. I'm 6'7, slim/athletic build. I purchased the Rinse in 36x38. Typically I purchase these in 34x38 for the clean & crisp lines, but the 36 waist allows for a more loose look while still keeping with the style of the slim jean. As always the service with Zappos was as good as it gets. Awesome company.

Everything I'd expect from jeans: comfortable, durable, well-fitting. Great for outside activities and the honey-do list.

The 517 Men’s Boot Cut is a great pair of jeans. I have a lean build and I like jeans that fit snug in the seat and have a bit of a wider opening near the calf so I can easily pull the jeans over a pair of short or tall cowboy boots. These jeans fulfill all of my requirements.

Great jeans! Much longer than advertized, had to order 1 size shorter than my usual size.

These were okay, but for a guy with somewhat muscular thighs. I had to get a larger waist to accommodate.

Great looking jeans that complement my boot purchases! Combat, Cowboy, and Harness Boots all look fantastic with these jeans. You can dress it up with a leather jacket or be casual with a canvas jacket. Levis never fails to be the standard for all of my jeans! Highly recommended!

My husband will ONLY wear Levis boot cut, and Zappos always seem to have the best price !

Good quality

517's are the best boot cut jeans for what i wear (work boots, hiking boots, cowboy). They also 'wear in' nicely after a dozen uses and the black dye fades a bit (i think they look much better after that 10 thru 12th wash and dry). If you do not want your black 517's to wear in that quickly make sure you turn them inside out, use cold wash and low or no heat on the dryer setting- color will last longer.

These are doggone close to being the best jean for boots in general. I wear 'em all from cowboy to work boots with toe cap protection. Just like they advertise on TV these Levi's will last your lifetime. Just a little common sense in their care is all you need. My oldest Levi's crossed 30 years and they fit and wear comfortably. PS- I was shopping around looking for 517's and when I saw Zappo's had some- I grabbed them. Thank You Zappo's!
