Zappos makes an effort to make L29 available and this is truly appreciated. Levi's is not true to its size, though, and my L29 is actually more of a L30 or a L31.

I ordered 31-34; the stapled-on size tag said 31-34 but both sewn-on tags say 32-34 and they measure 32-34!

I've been wearing Levi's 501s for 60 years. I've tried other jeans along the way but always come back to my old favorites. I'd give these five stars except the past couple of years the hem is smaller and makes the bottoms curl up. I've complained but I guess they make enough money on the extra material to make it worth it. And, Zappos gets at least ten stars for their customer service. I order and get it next day. What a great company. Thanks Zappos.

They are white jeans. Zappos came through with great service as usual. If you want some white Levi jeans for spring then I recommend making the purchase.

What you would expect - good quality, good comfort, reliable styling. Benefit of buying from Zappos - odd and even sizes.

The jeans are a great fit, just like they were a long time ago. Sorry the fabric is not the original Levi denim, but time will tell if it will hold up. Thanks for the great service and free shipping. Tagged this site, for sure.

This Levi's Men Jeans is a great fit for anyone. It's original and can be stylish depending how what kind of attire you're wearing. It's a good fit!

These are the jeans from my childhood. After growing up an switching to slacks it was a good feeling to be back in 501's. Black can look good enough for a night out and comfort a huge plus.

Love the product but I have to replace them too often because they consistently wear out in the crotch. The rest of the pants are in great shape but every pair I have has the same wear pattern. I buy them four pairs at a time and have to replace them about every 18-24 months.

Pretty comfortable pants - wish that there were a zipper instead of the buttons for restroom situations but overall these are good pants.

The fabric is thinner and stretchier compared to another pair of Levi's 501 that we purchased at a department store. My husband says they are more comfortable, but we don't know yet if the fabric will hold up as well as the thicker, non-stretchy fabric of his old pair. They do still have the button fly.

I purchased 501's, 505's, and 514's. These 501's are tighter than I'm used to: I previously only dwell in the loose fit realm. However, the 501's have more crotch/thigh area than the 514's. Overall, I like these. But I will warn here as I did on the other two reviews, some of the "color" choices on Levi's are actually a stretch denim, and Zappos descriptions do not include that information. You may want to cross reference the color choices with the Levi's website to ensure there are no surprises when you get your jeans.

New wrinkles on familiar, fine fabric - behind knees, at hips, take away from what could be a clean look. A good look and feel, nevertheless. At least the wrinkles are not faded. Ordered a 30 and a 29 waist, the latter measured 28. So much for quality control. Who is minding the store?

Great jeans at a great price. However, in the first two days of wearing them, two of the belt loops broke. That's something that usually happens after months/years of wear. So, returned them and got a new pair.

Here's the deal and the different washes comes in different fabric weight (thickness). Some of the newer or trendier washes use thinner fabric. Zappos doesn't sell phony stuff, please. The heavyweight (12.5 oz) finishes include the stone washes, rinse. Medium-weight (~9 oz) includes Galindo and drainpipe. Check Levis.com to see the weight of each finish.

I am 6ft 1 and I have long legs. I bought the 36 waist and the 36 inseam and they fit me perfectly. In the past, I usually purchase baggier pants but I wanted some jeans more fitted. However, I will never wear skinny jeans...these jeans are great compromise. The price was exceptional and the style is on-point. I had these jeans when I was a teenager back in the late 80s. So to conclude, I will stick with the classic.

Tis is your classic pair of jeans. Fit is comfortable, but a bit rougher than jeans you're used to. I haven't tried shrinking mine yet, but apparently it's very easy to do, and makes amazing jeans.

I'm wearing these right now, and they're much closer to the jeans I remember from the "old days" than most of what you can find today. Unfortunately, they're on the short side for me. I wish Levi's made them in size 28 x 34!

Ah, the classic 501s. This is a good color. Not too dark. Not too light. The denim is heavy, which is reassuring because they'll last a long time. My only legit complaint is that they are too long, where as when I order the same size in in any other style of Levi's the jeans fit. This has more to do with Levi's inconsistency than Zappos. Note: Levi's styles are different depending on where you purchase. 501s from Levi's website are slightly different cut than Levi's from, say, Macy's. And that cut is slightly different from what you get at, say Levi's Outlet stores. There is a hierarchy to the whole chain of retail. I'm not sure where Zappos is in that chain, but it seems pretty high, b/c I'm almost always pleased with what I get. Same goes for many other goods, btw.

501's are classic for a reason. These have an updated rinse, yet are not the prohibitive hipster/narrow cut. Bought for my pretty preppy/hockey-build hubs. Very good fit. He liked darker rinse too. A little 'dressier' if you want. Flattering fit for almost everyone, including women - I've been wearing 501's for 25 years. Well done. 4 stars because Levi's aren't made in the USA.

The last few pairs of Levi 501's I have ordered from Zappos have ALL been made in Egypt, so I sent them back, except for the pair made in Mexico! I recently found Levis in a local Army Navy outlet here, so that is now where I obtain my Levis. I always check the country of origin, as I do not want any products from China, Egypt, etc. The last few pairs I have ordered the quality was definitely not the good old American Levis? The buttons and buttonholes all messed up sad sad....

Great pants. I love Levi's one of the best brand jeans there's only one minor problem which is the button fly instead of a zipper besides that they are great!

Everything was fine until I washed them...they shrink about 3%. Had to send them back.
