Beware: NYDJ changed the fabric content of Marilyn Straight Leg in Indigo Light. They used to be 96% cotton 4% spandex. They are now 97% cotton and 3% elastine and no longer are form fitting; they are baggy at the hips and don't fit the same way.

I prefer the Marilyn fit, and also the fabric which is 96% cotton and 4% spandex because it is more comfortable. This fabric composition is getting impossible to find at NYDJ these days, so I snapped these up even though I wear a Petite and had to have them hemmed.

I am a huge NYDJ fan and have been for several years. I buy them for me, my sister and my daughter. I have recently run into a quality issue. I found that those jeans that are 96% cotton and 4% spandex wear and wash well (like these), but if they have any polyester in them they 'rumple' after just a few washings. I have let them know of this quality issue (I can't wear them after they rumple, too messy looking) and have not received a response which leads me to question their customer service. In the future if they aren't cotton/spandex I won't purchase them.

I am 53 years old, 168 relatively fit pounds, 5'5". These are, bar none, the best, most comfortable jeans I have ever purchased. I bought three more pair inside of two weeks in different styles. Do buy a size smaller than you normally would - just another little perk ("Look, I'm wearing a 10!"). Yes, they are too expensive, but what can you do? Buy pajama-jeans if you want the cheap version. And it is okay to throw them in the dryer on regular heat - haven't had any issue with any of the pairs I purchased.

I bought these for my Aunt and she absolutely loves them. They have the perfect high waist that is so hard to find. We are both tall and I have bought many pairs of NYDJ. I have always enjoyed the comfort and the fit!

These jeans would be perfect if they came in a 31" inseam. Comfort is outstanding! Style is great (as long as one is willing to wear shirts untucked, which I do most of the time anyway). But the common practice of offering 'regular' jeans in a 33" inseam is just nuts.

Awesome high rise jean! I'm 5'7", 175#. Ordered size 18 in this color, and the Westland color.
The Westland fits bigger, and wrinkles fast (only had them on for a few minutes). Another reviewer here mentioned that it may be due to the fabric: cotton/spandex (good) vs cotton/ polyester/elastane (not so good).
Anyway, I'm keeping the NYDJ Marilyn Straight Leg in Indigo Light, and ordering another pair.
PS) These are 33in inseam, and I'll need to get them hemmed.

These are the perfect jeans. They are soft and the fit is spot on. The leg is straight but it is not pistol straight like other straight leg jeans; way more flattering to the leg. The waist sits right at the belly but due to the soft giving fabric they are as comfortable as a legging. Really! NYDJ bootcuts are just as gorgeous. Really!

I love these jeans. I am 5' 7" and these jeans fit purrrrfect. Love the high waist and length. Also they feel soft and comfortable on. I purchase a 10 and 12. The 12 fit great. Love the fact you can return the ones that do not fit free of charge. Thank you Zappos for offering NYDJ.
