The ratio of quality to price here is extremely poor. I sent them back to Frye twice, once for the outer sole coming undone, the second time because the pull strap on the back tore, exposing the lining. This is after putting perhaps five miles on the boots, as they are used primarily for motorcycle riding, two to three times per week. Shipping them back to Frye was not free, as it is with Zappos. Customer service at Frye has been very average, with most of the effort to have them repaired coming from me. The second time, I told them I wanted to exchange them for the logging boots. I still have not received them, however, despite being told several days ago that they would be overnight shipped. I have certainly learned my lesson here with. You do not always get what you pay for; sometimes you get substantially less.

These boots are very comfortable and true to size. Did not require any break-in period.

These are my favorite boots. I am a boot-a-holic and have lusted over these for two years, so I was uber stoked when zappos got them in again. The sizing is very true unlike most fryes and the comfort is top notch. I can't say enough about how good looking these boots are. It's Zappos so you know the service and shipping was steller.

I've been looking for a decent boot for a long time that is not too formal, but doesn't look like it has steel caps. Frye boots are always great, and these lace ups are awesome.
A nice, comfy fit out of the box (adjust down half a size; I wear a 12 and fit a Frye 11½), the leather is soft and supple, yet sturdy enough to make me feel like I will have them for a long time. I like the fact that the heel is smaller than most Frye boots I have tried - big heels on guys boots? I dunno.
They look great, they feel great, and are so much nicer than anything else I have seen out there.

Awesome boot. I ordered the 10.5, but it was half a size too large, so they are a true to size fit. Zappos shipped the correct size before I had even sent the larger boots back. Received them the next day. Perfect craftsmanship and so comfortable. They took about a week to break in. Must buy!

This boot fits like a glove, the arch support is great, it's not like most boots that have a heavy tread, very comfortable. Fits a little larger than marked, but that can be fixed with sole inserts.

Frye has always made a fine boot. I have several pairs of Frye Campus Boots and I enjoy wearing them. Since I wanted an above ankle, lace-up, somewhat dressy boot; the Frye Rogan Tall Lace up style was exactly what I wanted. I have been wearing them for about 3 weeks and they are GREAT! They are very comfortable and give me the total support and look that I like. I plan to order a black pair next week.

Ordered on 12/22 at 10pm, was at my front door at 11am on 12/23...crazy fast delivery. The boot is great. Only wore it around the house but felt comfortable. It's just not as distressed as I thought it would be; would be perfect if it was a bit shorter and more distressed.

A friend of mine had been ranting about Frye's for a few years. I was in the market for some new boots, seeing as my 10+ year old jungle boots, with their second set of soles, and more character than can be fixed, were on their way out. I bought said jungle boots in South Korea in 2002. They did a solid tour in Iraq in 2003/2004, and about a year of straight wear in 2011/2012. I highly value quality over anything. I researched Frye, learned all about their American heritage dating back to the time of Lincoln. I bought into it once I learned of other friends and family who owned and loved their Frye boots. So I bought a paid of Rogans. They were the style and fit that I thought I wanted. I bought them off the Frye website because they were about cheaper (Sorry, Zappos, I learned my lesson!). They arrived a week later, and immediately I was upset. On the inside of the upper ankle, imprinted in bright white against the deep brown was "Made in Mexico"! Really? I thought to myself. This solidly "American" company, with everything on their website proclaiming their heritage, gets things made in Mexico? Strike 1. So I still figured I would give the boots a shot. That is without reading the returns and exchanges policy. Strike 2. The boots just did not fit. Too big, too wide. I could not tighten the boots enough to make me feel like they weren't swimming. Quality was strike 3. Within a week, both my laces broke due to poor installation of metal eyelets. The sole wore through impossibly quick. I feel so cheated by this purchase. I retired these "American" classics. Purchased some Steve Maddens that cost a third as much, feel two times better, and will probably make it a full year. Probably just going to find an Army surplus store and buy a new pair of jungles next time around.

I'm glad other people had luck with this boot, but I've got to say that the quality was terrible. I had them for about six months with very little use, and the leather sole started to peel apart. I sent them to be repaired, and they came back with the sole basically glued together. I brushed it off as normal wear and tear, until one day I was pulling the boots up by the back strap, and the strap tore, exposing the boot lining. I called Frye and demanded another boot of the same cost, to which they quickly agreed. Good customer service on their part, I have to admit. Check the label before you buy. Many of their boots are now made in Mexico, as is the Rogan lace-up. Sorry, but if you're paying almost this price for boots, they'd better be made in the U.S.A., and they sure can't fall apart like these did. If you're looking for a decent made-in-U.S. boot from Frye, try the Logger. Great leather, great fit and about the same price.

This is my second pair of Frye boots. I love these boots so much I bought the exact same pair in Black. I am extremely picky and I can tell you that these boots pass every one of my tests. Sure they are not cheap but after buying countless pairs of "cheap" boots and having to throw them away every 6 months I can tell you there is a difference. You will notice it the first time you feel the leather in your hands. Besides being thicker it just feels better. There is a definite break-in period because they are a little stiff in the beginning but after a few months they start to take the shape of your feet and the fit is exceptional. As far as Zappos? Well...the people they have working there are a notch above in my opinion. They really do treat every customer like family and their shipping is second to none. No much more to say other than you simply can't go wrong with Frye boots and Zappos service.

Quick shipping, no problem with Zappos. Frye Rogan Boot looks and feels great, just what I was looking for. Classic look that wont go out of style, appears that it is a well made product and should last a long time. I have only had them for a day but so far well worth the money. Only negative is that the Frye Rogan is not made in USA which is a surprise because the Frye website goes on and on about being made in the USA. No matter though, quality materials. Longevity is not determined at this time, as i mentioned I have only had them for a day. Peace out.

Great looking boot. Very comfortable soft leather upper with just the right amount of wear to make them look already broken in. Love Frye boots and shoes and Zappos too!

I love these boots! Order half a size down. It took longer to break in compared to my other Frye boots.

Garbage, unfortunately. I really liked the look of these boots, and I was pleased with the fit and the comfort. However, they are about as durable as tissue paper. First pair had a heel fall off inside ten days; with the replacement pair, the soles and heels eroded and cracked within five weeks. When I returned the second pair, the lacekeeper was pulling free of the tongue, and the upper stitching was starting to separate. Very disappointing. High marks to Zappos, though. Their customer service was very prompt and helpful with the returns.
