Walking in the rain has not been this fun since I was 10 years old. Living in Atlanta Ga the spring and fall are traditional rain seasons with weeks of straight rain. In this jacket I do not fear the rain and I am very comfortable back outside in many weather systems.

This jacket and my Marmot vest kept me warm in Alaska while fishing for king salmon in Juneau, kayaking with killer whales in Prince William Sound and hiking the old miners trail

I was caught out in a typical tropical downpour on the NC coast where all I could do was put the hood up, turn my back to the wind, and and wait until the rain stopped chucking it down. Of course I was drenched from below the reach of the jacket, but amazed to be utterly dry otherwise. I have a heavier 3-layer Marmot Goretex jacket as well, but this Minimalist jacket with the GTX Paclite will be the one in my pack three seasons out of four.

I bought this jacket a while back and when I tell you it's one of my best purchases it is lightweight but keeps you warm and protected from the rain.

The jacket is very light, it can be folded away in a small space. I got the sleet color and looks great. I like that it is well vented and can be closed to stay warm. The hood is can also be nice and tight so it keeps my face warm. And the cuffs can be closed to keep warm without wearing a heavy jacket. It wears well with layers if needed. I'll go out in any rainy day with this jacket.

Love jacket, pretty color, good coverage, great quality. When I purchased it had tried on various brands that all seemed to run way smaller. Was 180ish at 5’3”. Now I’m not so it’s a tad big??

I love the color and it is very comfortable despite having gore-tex. I was worried about the size, but
the Large was just right! My last gore-tex jacket was l.l. bean-- and Marmot is way better!

I love this jacket. I have a larger chest and most jackets tend to make me look boxy...this one is figure flattering and well made.

I tried probably 10 rain coats this fall before finally landing on this one! It beat out even more expensive jackets in fit, fabric feel/noise (no plastic bag feeling and minimal crinkling), breathability, and features (pit zips, adjustable hood, hand pocket placement). Definitely give this one a try! It did run just a bit small for me, especially under the arms.

This rain jacket is a keeper! I depended on this Marmot jacket for a 2 week coach tour trip around Ireland and Scotland. At one point, I was walking at least a mile in pouring rain, and I kept completely dry! It also came in handy as a windbreaker on several occasions. Compacted down for quick access when I wasn't wearing it, too. Loved the bright green color...my family could always spot me in a crowd!

I ordered this jacket to replace my Northface that grew old, tired and no longer ensured a completely dry wear and have been completely satisfied with my decision. The Goretex fabric makes all the difference in the world. This jacket is waterproof AND breathable. No more sweating out the rainy outdoor days. Also, don't be fooled by the dark raspberry color, it appears just as red as the photo in person. I ordered one size smaller than usual and can still wear a sweater underneath if needed.

Great jacket; true to size. Took it on a recent trip to Ireland. Wore it most of the time for 2 weeks. Even after being packed & repacked and pretty much abused, it still looks crisp & brand new. More expensive than similar jackets but Gore-Tex fabric is worth the extra $.

This is a great jacket. It is very comfortable and it looks good. It is well made. I ordered two sizes and ended up keeping the larger one, one size up from what I usually wear. I wanted room to fit a light down jacket underneath for warmth.

This jacket is fantastic. It's waterproof and strong, but at the same time light and compactible. The underarm zippers allow for easy ventilation, and also allow access to layers under the jacket (for instance, I can reach into the pockets of my fleece through the pit-zip holes). It's form-fitting and adjustable enough to look good on different body shapes, with or without layers underneath. I'm 5'8" and weigh 135 lbs. I would normally be a small, but I usually wear a medium in jackets because (like someone else who wrote a review) I have wide shoulders. One note on the color -- I previously bought the "vibrant purple" but the color turned out to be more of a bright puce, rather than the deep purple that was shown on my screen. I now have the "grass green," which was more true to the color shown. Marmot is a great brand in general, and this jacket, being Goretex, is even better. Highly recommended!

This rain jacket is truly waterproof and doesn't look like a billowing trash bag on my 5"10, 150-lb frame. I normally wear a Medium, but have wide shoulders that force me to buy coats in a Large. I tried rain jackets by Patagonia (pretty colors, but billowy in a large) and North Face (better fit in the body, but sleeves too short for my long arms). I also tried Columbia (better fit in the body, but no covered zipper). At this price, I'd love at least one inside pocket (preferably zippered). While this jacket provides no warmth (I wear it with a thick fleece underneath for walking the dogs), it does keep me completely dry in the areas it covers. I live in the Pacific Northwest where we get lots of rain, and wish I'd bought this jacket a long time ago. The hood is roomy enough to cover my head even with a hat on. In all, one of the best waterproof jackets out there.
I'd also recommend:
Patagonia, North Face, Columbia

I've had this jacket for about a year now and have been able to use it through all the different rainy seasons in New England. It does the job perfectly as a simple rain cover. Please not there is no insulation in the coat so it is not meant for very cold weather. It also has a professional appearance which comes in handy for rainy work days.

This jacket has been taken hiking and fishing in dumping rain and wind. I was still dry after 6 hours in dumping rain and when I take it hiking and there is wind I do not feel the wind. Downside is it's a thin jacket and chilly but if you use your layers it will be fine.

I like this jacket because I live down south so I need a light jacket for all the summer thunderstorms. My lining was starting to peel, but I got to replace it because of the warranty so ended up getting the same one because I love it!
