This Frye Billy Short is really comfortable and very attractive. Feels like it has already been very broken in. I line danced all night at first wearing.

These craftsmanship of these boots are what makes them amazing. Extremely versatile...wear with jeans, skirts or even cut off shorts. So amazing.

I am so glad I gave these a chance instead of returning them! So this is my 4th pair of Fryes. Let me preface by saying that I am a true 9.5 and that is what I wear in Frye. I like to wear thick socks with my boots and booties. If the shoes are not comfortable I will not wear them. I despise uncomfortable shoes no matter how good they look. Onto the boots...These fit true to size after breaking them in. They definitely run smaller than my other fryes which had no break-in period at all. The first time I wore these, I wore them for a few hours, moderate walking and my feet were crying. I thought I made a big mistake and should've gone with a 10. I had blisters on my feet. But since I already wore them there was no returning them now. After my feet healed I gave it another shot and to my surprise that is all it took. They fit like a glove now and they look great too. Order your normal size. If you normally size down in Fryes, don't do it with these.

Just wanted to let you all know to not order up! Disregard all the comments. I ordered half a size up, from an 8 to an 8.5...and it was huge! Had no problem getting the shoe on my foot as other reviewers have written. Sent them back because the gap between ankle and boot is too big for my personal desires.

These are amazing, just like every other pair of Frye boots I own. They are really comfortable and will break in nicely. I did have to order a half of a size larger because of the pointed toe. I normally wear a 9 1/2 and ordered a 10. Since they do have a shorter shaft and I did have to get a larger size, they do slip on the heels a little...but you get used to it after a couple hours. I can wear them all day with no fuss. Love them.

I love the Billy! This light tan is a gorgeous color! I love the classic Billy western style. Frye boots are extremely well made and built to last. I wear a 9½, but always get a size 10 in the Billy, due to the pointed toe. They have fairly good arch support, but I always add an arch support insert. I have a high instep. I always have a little struggle getting the short boots on, but it is not a big deal. This color is a nice soft comfortable leather, right out of the box. There is a slight amount of distressing on the toes, which I wish was slightly less, but not a real detraction from the overall beauty. I did apply the Frye conditioning cream which did slightly darken the leather, but I felt better protecting this light leather from dirt, and water. These are gorgeous boots, comfortable, and classy. Dress them up or down, wear with boot cut or skinny jeans, dresses, skirts, shorts. These are just amazingly beautiful boots! I have lots of Frye boots and I love them all. I have narrow feet and long toes. I hope this helps.

Love these boots! Bought them in the dark brown which has a brushed rough look to the finish. Easy to get on and comfortable from the first day I put them on. This is the third pair I have purchased and they're a staple with my jeans as well as casual pants. I use a shoe horn and they slide on easily even with thick ankles!

Great fit once your foot is in. It is a tight fit, but you can try the plastic bag trick to get your foot in. Beautiful, rich color and very well made and styled.

I really like these boots. They are the first western boots I have ever owned and they are awesome! They are a little hard to pull on at first but after a few days it gets easier. I really like the short heel compared to other boots I have tried on.

I loved these and I am by no means into western styles. I hesitantly got them thinking they may be good with skirts. The western aspect is very subdued and the color (dark brown) is gorgeous. They run small, I am trying my regular size but may have to get a half size larger. They feel like they will stretch out. These boots are not as durable as the engineer or harness, but still worth every penny. Thanks to Zappos for their patience as I go through so many returns to get the right fit.

Great boot -- love the short shaft and the charcoal gray color. I wear a 9 narrow and the size 9 boot fits great with a mid-weight sock (like Smartwoool). I can see how you might have to order a 1/2 size up if you have a wider foot. The boot is hard to pull on. A big thank-you to whomever wrote in about using a plastic bag to help push your foot through the shaft. A great tip!

Exactly what I was looking for - sturdy, stylish and comfortable. If you have a wide or normal-wide, consider going up half a size, as some others have suggested. My feet are size 8, on the wide side of average, and I ordered 8.5. It's a tough call, though, because they do loosen up quickly and it's not something you can get a feel for after just trying them on once or twice. I wore thin socks had to really point my toes to get them on the first couple of times, but that changed very quickly. Looking back, I would still go up a size because of the pointy toebox. I prefer a loose all around fit to having my toes crunched. I've worn them all day several times over the past 3 weeks and haven't had any blisters, etc. due to the looseness.

I have received lots of compliments on this boot. I ordered a half size bigger because the toes are so pointy, but it fits well and is comfortable.

I absolutely love these boots! They feel soft and already broken in from the time you put your feet in them! I wear a size 8 and I ordered a 9 because the toes are sharply pointed. They feel a little relaxed which I like so to me they fit perfectly! The footbed is softer and much more comfortable than I imagined. The shafts feel a bit narrow when you're putting them on and taking them off but it's not an issue for me. The color is exactly like the picture! I believe they're called antique brown but they are really more of a camel with naturally darkened areas! Like I said, these Frye Billy Short boots are perfect and my favorite!

After hours of searching, I decided to try the Frye boots. I ordered a half size up due to reviews I read. I will say the boots are a little difficult to get on and off, but it's getting easier. The boots are comfortable and I have no trouble wearing them for a day at work. Great style and love that leather smell.

These are gorgeous, well-made boots and the quality you'd expect from Frye. Perfect fit, size 8 - my usual. The only reason I sent them back was due to the embossing. I wanted a light-colored boot but the embossed floral design was a bit too costumey for my taste. I would have kept them in a heartbeat if they were plainer. Too bad taupe wasn't a color option.

This is a fairly flashy metallic boot. It fits well and I like them but I won’t be able to wear them with everything.

I have many pairs of Frye boots and take very good care of them. The Billy short goes with everything and is quite comfie. It runs very true to size although I purchased them 1/2 size larger so I could wear thick socks in the winter. The sole did not last very long (less than a year) and I ended up sending them back to Frye to be resoled. I would like to clarify something. Many people on this site think all Frye boots are made in the USA. This is absolutely not true. Billy shorts are NOT made in the USA. In fact only a small percentage of Frye boots are made in the USA. On their site, Frye clearly designates which of their boots are made in the USA. I have wondered if the boots made in the USA last longer and if that was the problem I encountered with the Billy shorts. Guess I'll never know, although I have not had the same problem with other Frye boots (some USA made, others not). Still, they make a great boot and I will be purchasing more over the years to come.

This is a gorgeous boot! The color looked great. Unfortunately, unlike most of the reviews said, it fit too loose on me. I ordered my regular size, but was slipping around in it. Also, the bottom sole of the shoe was also exceptionally slick. I am sending them back, but hopefully I will find another Frye boot that will work for me because they are such great quality.

These boots are classic Frye design... awesome design, great quality. However, they are incredibly narrow and at least a half a size smaller fit-wise. I could hardly get the right side slipped-on.

I have owned these boots for one year now. I had to reorder several times to finally get the right size/fit. The style and quality are great. Beware, the leather is thick and tough. The tall Billy was impossible to slip into, so I went with the short, which was frustrating too. However, with wear they loosen up. The problem with these boots is that the foot bed is too large/wide while the neck is too small. Now that the neck has stretched and I don't need another person to pull them off, my foot moves around too much. Wearing socks is impossible. Within minutes of walking my socks have scrunched into the boot, exposing my heels and ankles, which rub against the rough leather neck. No bueno! I still love them and wear them barefooted but given Fry's extensive experience in boot making, I was surprised at the less than satisfactory fit.

Really a gorgeous boot but definitely runs on the small side! I had to return them at first (returns are always so easy!) and got a half size up which was much better but still gave me blisters. Invest in some trouser socks which help make the boot a lot more roomy. Also great if you want to wear them with skirts or dresses and tights!

Really cute boots, but I had to return them because they were a bit short. I wear a 7 1/2 and that's what I ordered. The toe is so pointed that it made my foot feel cramped. The boot looked exactly as pictured.
