I love the security of the kids foot in this sandal. However I had to purchase it a couple time to get the right size and it was actually two size bigger than her actual size

Brought these shoes for both my boys in their shoe size.The shoes are so cute in person but they run way too small.My son wear a 9 and he couldn’t even get his foot in the sandals.My other son wears a 5 and I was barely able to get his foot in th shoe.I suggest ordering a size up if you want them to fit comfortably.

Stylish and sturdy summer shoes. These are great sandals for a small child due to the closed toe and heel, and ample breathing room for hot feet around the straps. They are stylish enough to ear with cute dresses and sturdy enough to survive playground trips. The one drawback is the buckle is functional - not decorative - so small children can not take these shoes on and off themselves. Some people may find this an advantage, but for me it's a drawback! :) The leather and sole feel well made and sturdy, but the buckle feels flimsier by comparison so I will see if it holds up all summer!

I ordered this particular style for the added toe coverage for my toddler baby who has been speedily crawling. So while I love that this style offers the additional coverage, there was a problem for me with the ankle strap t-bar section. This t-bar section on the front of the sandal has a slot for the ankle strap to go through, but it is so delicate that after using the sandals for less than a week, the slot ripped open at the top. I ordered a replacement pair, but I can see this will likely happen again, so I've opted to pick a different style. I do love this style though, just wish there was better reinforcement in this area.

Very nice quality sandals. I got these for my four year old and they fit her well. The only trouble is with the buckle she cannot put them on herself. Grandma wants to know why I didn't get sandals with velcro! Overall though, I am very happy with them.

I just ordered these for my 18 mo. old son in size 6. They are so cute, but really narrow! His foot is a bit wide, but even so, these still seem to run on the narrow side. Unfortunately I had to send them back. Love the style though!

Super cute and sturdy. My only complaint is the small piece of leather that sticks out in the front mid point of the shoe, that can then stick into a chubby ankle. If I buckle the shoe loosely, it does not seem to bother my son. But if it is buckled firmly, it digs into his the front portion of his ankle.

These sandals were really cute, were great quality (especially for the price!), and were exactly what I was looking for. However, I had to return them because the pointy piece at the top cut into my sons foot really badly. I don't know why on earth they chose to design them with that pointy piece right there. I ordered the Jumping Jacks Sea Fish because it doesn't have this pointy part, and the quality isn't nearly as nice, but at least they don't hurt his foot. Also, because of the closed toe, I found that they ran small and you should order a size up.

Great shoe, I like that it is closed toe. Buckle can be a bit annoying but otherwise these are great.

Cute shoes! Very classic fisherman sandal. Only issue is the buckle is a little hard to use (a little stiff and sharp). Not the easiest for a young child who is learning to put on their own shoes (would be better with velcro).

These are cute shoes and they were almost what I was looking for. But, I realized when they arrived that I had not read the description carefully enough. I just assumed that all shoes for kids this age had Velcro straps. That was not true. These are the old school buckle and strap. I bought these for my three year old and just getting Velcro shoes on her to get her out the door in the morning can be a challenge, so I did not want to deal with a buckle that requires her cooperation to increase the challenge. Other than that they are great but that was a deal breaker for me so I returned them.

I am returning the Salt Water Shark sandal because they seem to run on the narrow side and a little on the shorter side. I agree with the reviews that said that their kids' toes were pretty close to the front of the shoes. I always order the fisherman style for my boys in summer and these seem to be a slightly shorter shoe than the others. They are cute and I like the leather insole and the real buckle, but they are too narrow for one of my boys and the other (with thinner feet) had red marks on the top of his foot when I removed the shoe and the shoes (Sz 8) were barely wide enough for his thin feet. One of the think leather straps on the top of one pair (I ordered two blue and one brown) was twisted about 90 degrees and I think that would irritate the foot after a while. You may want to order a size up in this shoe. My husband questioned why anyone would design a shoe with a pointed leather piece at the ankle and wondered if it would bother the boys over time--it didn't seem to mind them during the five minutes they had them on tonight. I was going to reorder a size up for one of my boys and see if it came in a wide version for the other, but now I'm undecided. In case this helps, I have 26mo old twin boys. One has slightly wide feet, but not wide enough to order the wide shoes and the other has slightly narrow feet, but, again, not wide enought to deviate from the standard "medium" width shoe. They wear Tsukihoshi shoes year round (currently a size 8 with plenty of room to grow). In summer I usually order a couple sandals with closed toes--last summer I loved the tan Jumping Jacks fisherman sandals with the leather insoles, but this style is not available in their size this year for some reason. I only order sandals with leather insoles because I've found that they are the only ones that don't stink in summer (aside from the Tsukihoshi tennies that are washable and the insoles never seem to smell). The Salt Water Shark sandals run narrower than the Beeko Damien (my favorite this year), a little narrower than the Stride Rite Ericson and a whole lot narrower than the See Kai Run Jude Sandal (the widest of the four).

Cute sandals. I wish they had a Velcro strap. For an almost 3 year old, it takes me some time to get my daughter to hold still and get the buckle fastened. She can’t put them on herself like a lot of her other shoes. The buckle itself also feels cheap, so I hope it holds up.

Would have loved for these to work out but I couldn't get over how difficult they were to put on my 17 month old's feet. I have a very wriggly impatient toddler on my hands, and could foresee the battle of the buckle. So instead I opted for a similar style, that was easier to slip on and had velcro, from a different company. Maybe I'll re visit these in a year or 2, because I love the style.

THESE ARE PRETTY STIFF AND SEEM A LITTLE SMALL COMPARED TO OTHERS STYLES IN THE SUNSANS BRAND.

Super cute shoes, great quality of the leather. However the little leather leaf on the front top was cutting through my daughters ankle. The shoe goes way too high.

So cute but so narrow over the arch that I could barely get them on. The Sailors version is a good alternative that is still closed toe but is more forgiving in width.

I really wanted these to work for my toddler because of the style. Never owned Salt Water but I’ve heard great things. Unfortunately we will need to return them because they are too narrow. The size felt true, but his foot didn’t fit due to the narrowness.

The other shoes by this brand are much better. These shoes were not comfortable the minute my daughter put them one. They are not flexible at all.

I bought these for my first son two years ago when he was a year old. I could not even get his feet in them! I was bummed, they are so cute and very high quality. I decided to hold on to them rather than return, because what do you know...two years later I have another one year old son. I still can't get the darn thing on him either! So frustrating. My boys don't have particularly fat feet. So I just can't figure it out. It's the front part - I just couldn't get their feet to slide in.

These are the cutest sandals, but unfortunately my son has a wide, pudgy foot and so they don't fit very well. They don't come in different widths, and to me they seem pretty narrow, but that may be because we are used to Stride Rite's wide options and Keen sandals. I tried sizing up which helped some, but I'm not sure they will be comfortable enough to keep. But the quality and style are great!

These shoes are adorable in person, however my 21 month old son couldn't get his foot into the shoe, the leather was too stiff! We struggled for a few minutes until he finally threw it across the floor. while I'm sure they loosen up, If I can't get it on easily from the start it wasn't going to work for us: sad!
