I bought these glasses with readers so I would be able to tie on flies without swapping glasses and they work great. They are very comfortable.

I've been wearing the Hookipa reader glasses for about 8 years. They have excellent front/side coverage and work well with nature, including fishing, hiking, traveling. Few weeks ago I tripped on a rock and hit the left side of my eye area in a "face plant." The glasses did not break, only scratched and literally saved my bacon. They work on many levels. Thank you Maui Jim!

By far the most neutral color of any sunglasses I have ever owned (Ray Ban, Bolle, Tifosi, you name it). These are actually DARK enough to get the job done. The lenses contain what I believe is Europium to provide a boost to red wavelengths that can be lost with some truly dark lenses...as a physicist and an engineer, I found this very impressive (look at the edge of the lenses in sunlight, they actually glow red). The sunglasses are so light and comfortable that I can literally forget I have them on. I also find that the anti-reflective coating on the back of the lenses is subtle enough to not cause distracting blue reflections, like some other AR lenses. As someone who wears sunglasses nearly every day (hereditary enlarged pupils), these are my go-to pair. I recently had new lenses put in as a repair...this was fast and VERY reasonable ($75 all-in and included new nose pads and a new case). You get what you pay for. These are certainly worth the spend and having them renewed for only $75 vs buying a new pair only adds to the value. Kudos, Maui Jim!

I was hesitant at first about buying a pair of $200 sunglasses. But after having them for awhile, I'm so HAPPY I did. I got a scratch on one of the lenses somehow. So I sent them into Maui Jim to get them repaired. To make a long story short, I sent them in and they sent them back a week later with a receipt that said I owed them nothing!! I was so surprised how they stood behind their product. I am now a MJ customer for life! Cory Colorado Springs

I have had these sunglasses for over 20 years possibly over 25 years can't recall the exact year I bought them. These are the best sunglasses I have ever put on. The lenses soothed my eyes as soon as I put them on, it was love at first contact. I recently had the nose pads come off and that was just within the last year. I got on here to see about replacing the pads. I can say without a bit of hesitation that you will not be sorry when you purchase these glasses, they are worth every cent!

I bought my sunglasses more than 5 years ago, and recently lost one of the nose pieces, found MJ's repair centre on line, rang them up (0800 number), and they sent out a new pair (nose pieces) FREE OF CHARGE. Great service.

Had my MJ's for two years. Had a slight crack but replaced straight away no issues. Went to Lahaina on holiday had scratched lens replaced. Excellent service , tightened frames etc. Lost a nose piece, one call free nose piece sent to me in 4 days. Fabulous service incredible product. If you are a runner these are light, polarized and easy to wear.

This is my 4th pair of Maui Jim Ho'okipa that I've had. Yes, I tend of lose things. The style and comfort are fantastic, plus they're much lighter than other sunglasses that I've owned (and lost). Pricey, but worth it.

Have had these for 9 years, wearing in the tropics every day and got the first scratch recently. I just love them, they don't slip down, they are light, great for long days in the sun and so comfy. I lost them for 2 days recently and my eyes watered and stung the entire time I was without their protection. Do yourself a favour and get a pair.

I have owned a pair of these Ho'okipa sunglasses for 11 years. This is my second pair as the first were lost overboard. The polarized lenses are excellent and the natural grey tint is just enough darkening on a sunny day for my comfort. The service is excellent when a repair is needed. The first pair needed new lenses after I sat on them and Maui Jim repaired them to brand new condition. In the 11 years since, my eyes have started to falter and now need reading glasses. I was happy to find that there is a reader version available in this design, just what is needed for a good book on the beach or boat.

Alas, my Mauis are gone. I am not sure if I lost them or if someone stole them. What I do know is that I am saving up to buy my next pair as these are the most impact resistant sunglasses that I have ever had. In a freak series of events during a guys weekend, I found myself tracking a golf ball slicing towards me and wondering "is that a frekin' golf ball coming at me?" I ducked behind a golf cart but not fast enough and the ball found its way to my right eyeball. My head kicked back, a clink was emitted and I felt pressure on my face. I stood back up and not sure of what exactly just happened, felt my nose, teeth and looked for blood and nothing. My buddies were speechless as what they saw was the ball hit me square in the eye and they thought for sure it was going to be a trip to an eye surgeon. I realized the pressure was from the Maui Jims and I took them off to inspect the damage. I kid you not, not one scratch. At that point I knew Maui Jim is not just about fashion, it's about quality in ways that I could not anticipate.

Maui Jim's provide great vision under any circumstances, and the Sport models are fabulous for bicycling. High contrast lenses help the rider determine whether the dark spot in the road is a patch (safe) or a pot-hole full of water (certain crash). Polycarbonate lenses are essential for cycling because of the risk of a crash. These are my third pair (they get lost every few years). Admittedly, polycarbonate is a trade-off. They chip or scratch more easily than glass, but they are lightweight, and much safer in the event of impact.

I have been wearing Maui Jim sunglasses for over 10 years. I originally bought a different style from a bricks and mortar store that was too wide for my face. I did not realize until I shopped for a replacement pair that they had so many styles of this type. I have a long narrow face, and these fit me perfectly. I also have a very narrow bridge, and these do not slide down.

I've had a prescription pair for a bit over a year now and they are stylish, lightweight, and durable with Great optics. Recently had an issue with the connect point of lens to the nose bridge. Customer service was excellent and prompt. Looks like Maui Jim replaced the old nose bridge with a newer style that is much better. The few days they were in for repair just served to remind me how much I love these sunglasses. Definite high recommendation.

I picked my Ho'okipa rx's yesterday and I'm hooked. These specs are light weight and the lenses are fantastic. Maui Jim now has a life long customer! Oh yeah!

I have 4 pair of Maui Jims. I am happy with all of them. Hookipa are light , very comfortable and rap around to help when i outdoors working

I bought these 3 yrs ago and except for a few minor scratches,they still look great. I do a lot of driving, and love these glasses for there weight and feel. I bought a different pair of Maui Jim's last year and find them too heavy for the long driving days. I just purchased a new pair of Hookipa in the Rose lens. They are great

went into sunglass hut to purchase a pair of oakleys so i thought.left with pair of these.love that there so light ,they look great.and the price was right .the warranty they offeris just icing on the cake.i might sleep with them on lol !!!!

I bought my pair for a holiday in Rhodes, and I couldn`t be more pleased with my desision. Last sixteen years I had A pair of Randolph Aviators and I thought I`d never find anything as good but these Ho'okipas will let my Randolphs retire at last!

I have owned for three years now own 10 pairs of oakleys these glasses are far superior I am now a mau jim fan thanks for the awesome glasses like your not even wearing the glasses

For driving, biking and walking these sunglasses are light and a great fit not to mention the price is affordable.

I purchased my first pair of Maui Jims 2 years ago and have never had a problem. They still look and feel like new! Last week I purchased the rose colored Ho'okipas and love them too!! My husband has two pairs of Maui Jims as well. No other brand for this family. :)

This is my first pair of Maui Jim's and I just got them yesterday. I can't comment on their durability, but I can give you my initial impression. I bought the Ho'okipa with the rose lenses. First of all, they are really lightweight which I love. The nose and temple pads actually grip so they don't slip off your nose. I've been wearing some Oakley Gascans where I had to push them up all the time. I'm a fan of the look and the light weight, but the best thing about these sunglasses are the lenses. The contrast and clarity is amazing. Really, you'll notice the difference. I've got 20/20 vision, but I swear these actually make things appear sharper!! Kudos to Maui Jim for obviously placing as much importance on optics as you do on style. I'm a fan!
