Roomier than it looks and nicely proportioned. Trust me on this - I was in my obsessive mode comparing dimensions and volume of backpacks, as I was looking for something that was lightweight (that ruled out leather), didn't "look" huge, but could accommodate my lunch and the stuff in my purse so I could carry one bag and be "hands free." This was way more than I planned on spending, but it will last forever. Very well made, fully lined, and the backpack straps have an option of zipping together for an "over the shoulder" carry. I wasn't shopping for security, but it's definitely safe and secure (it's lined with cable and such so it can't be slashed). I discovered two hidden pockets after I'd been using it for two weeks! The zipper pulls tuck inside and attach to a hook for added security. Do you think they could make it in a color other than black and that ugly flesh-tan? How about a lime green or vibrant mango? Hence only 4 stars for style. Nice surprise: my 11" MacBook just fits inside. So I'll definitely use it as a small carry-on when flying. Zappos service, as always, rocks my world!

Okay, let's face it. This isn't the most fashionable bag around. But if you are looking for a functional, cute, travel-friendly, secure, not-too-big, not-too-small bag to carry around your essentials, then this is a great option. I think the bag looks smaller than it actually is. I keep a bulky sunglasses case and a large paperback book and a make up bag inside, and there is still room for more. The two outside pockets are cleverly hidden and perfect for keys, cell phone, or quick cash access if you don't want to open the main compartment for your wallet. I'm using it as my everyday bag now and I can't wait to bring it on our next vacation - knowing I won't be bogged down by a heavy shoulder bag, or look silly with a hiking backpack while touring the city.

Just ordered it for a trip to Barcelona. It's a compact and fits my iPad. Nice organization slots for bus tickets, change and credit card if you want to go wallet free.

Great bag for daily and travel use. This is exactly what I have been looking for: a small backpack with safety features. It can fit an amazing amount of stuff, yet shrinks down to a slim profile if it's not filled.

This is a nice bag. I fit a camera w/ an additional zoom lens, our passports, snacks, pocket tour book, and other essentials for a days outing and took it everywhere for a week on vacation in the Czech Republic. The color is not as bright as it appears online, which is great. I love it as an alternative to the typical black bag.

I was preparing for a trip to Italy, and pulled out my regular backpack purse. As I was going through my travel guide, it mentioned how Italy is notorious for its pickpockets, and I certainly didn't want to have my vacation ruined by someone taking something from my backpack purse, by slashing the straps. So, I purchased this backpack. I was a little hesitant to spend the money on it, because it was pricey, but in the end I think it was worth every penny. It's smaller than a typical backpack purse, and has some weight to it, because of the mesh on the pack and the cable inside the straps. But, if you're just carrying around money, phone and a small camera, this is perfect. You don't have room in it for a change of clothes, or bottle of water so if you're looking for something to hold all that and look for a bigger version of this. This has a low profile, and the straps zip together to turn into a cross-body bag, or purse. Helpful when you go into museums that don't want people wearing backpacks. The other thing that I liked about this bag is the hidden zippers. They're hidden, and there is a clip to lock the main zipper, so it makes it harder to get into for a thief. I had no problems with pickpockets while in Italy or at the Vatican (notorious for thieves in the crowd). Maybe they saw my impenetrable pack?

This bag is slim enough to be used daily. The design allows you to pack quite a few items yet still maintain a slim appearance and comfortable fit. The padding contributes to appearance and comfort. I have searched a while to replace my daily pack and am very pleased with this find. Thank you Zappos!

This bag is near-perfect for a city backpack. It looks great, has places for everything and is just the right size. It can go to business meetings or dinner in a restaurant, but it still hauls all my stuff. I love it. If it were even a little bigger, so I could stash a normal size book in it, that would be even better. It does fit an amazing amount of stuff, nevertheless. It looks great and the safety features are an added plus.

Love this bag! I bought it for a vacation, because I didn't want to carry a purse and a camera bag, etc., and it proved perfect! It was comfortable on the plane, on hikes, shopping, and on boats (it's somewhat water resistant). I bought it in black, and it's not a 'girly' bag, so my husband can also carry it. It will hold a lot, but it's not bulky when it's not full. The small pockets on the side are perfect for phones or small change, and you don't have to worry about pick-pockets at all!

Nice little backpack -- perfect exchange for a purse. Lots of places to keep things, including an outside ring for attaching keys. Nicely made.

Lovely color, very durable, perfectly medium-sized! This backpack has more hidden pockets and clips than I expected, and great interior pockets and slots for everything I own. I needed a backpack to be my everything when I broke my leg and went on crutches, and this is it.

I bought this for travel in Italy and France. I was much more comfortable with the security of my valuables than previous trips. It's perfect for day trips, a tad small for travel on the plane. I would highly recommend! No problem accessing the interior. Very easy to convert to a pack from a sling bag. Thanks Zappos!

Perfect pack for me. This backpack/sling bag is perfect! It is very attractive and has awesome storage compartments. It looks like they thought of everything including a perfect place to store your camera. If you are worried about pick pockets, the zippered compartments are not accessible unless you take the pack off. Another feature that I really liked was that the straps are narrow making it a lot less bulky looking. I gave this item a high rating in all areas! I plan to use it on vacation when I don't want to lug my purse.

I thought the straps would be a hassle, but it's actually easy to work with. I wish there were other colors like gray or fatigue. The many pockets and key loops are really important to me, and this is why I love Pacsafe. However, I wish the top zipper was "hidden" in the back... this feature in almost all backpacks makes the bag less secure, because when you forget to zip up, there goes the "theft-proof" feature of even the most secure bag. I look forward to a redesign of this bag.

I love the styling of this bag. Unfortunately its kind of small for a backpack. I had trouble getting my passport etc out of it when needed because the opening is not very wide so you cant see down into the bag very well. Its not very tall but I could fit a couple of magazines in it though. It is very secure though and made very well. Its a good bag to carry around during the day.

Took this pack to Ireland and England for a week. It was comfortable and held up very well. Holds quite a bit of stuff and was very secure. However, the opening is small so it can be difficult to locate items in the bottom of the main compartment. Also, when worn backpack style the zipper on one side chewed up my blouse...had to wrap the zipper with a bandaid to remedy this.

The backpack is exactly as described and perfect for traveling. Outside hidden pockets easily hold items that you want accessible. Inside is right size for wallet, passport and ipod or kindle or book.

I bought this backpack to take to Europe. It was ideal in every way. It held all the necessities: two water bottles, binoculars, camera, phone, IDs, cash, sweater, etc. My husband carried it on occasion, and he would never carry a man purse! We felt like our belongings were safe, accessible, and easy to carry around.

The Pacsafe TourSafe backpack is a great investment. I use it for my commute to work on public transportation, and though it looks compact, appearances are deceiving. You can stow a lot away into this backpack! The little side pockets in the back are great for little items, and the two inner pockets also hold a lot. This is also a great day pack to use when traveling. Highly recommend.

This bag is wonderful. Holds more than one thinks it will. Took me awhile to remember to zip the top so it didn't turn over when using as a sling. Cleans up beautifully. I wash mine in my front loader, on handwashable setting, no spin. Does better in warm water than cold. Bag comes out clean and free from that everyday "grunge" that purses get from use. It's well worth the expense. I'm looking forward to getting one in Tabasco.

This is a terrific bag for travel. I found it comfortable to get in an out of as a back pack, and I was able to get two books, all my usual junk, and some additional items I carry when traveling into it. I also like the small outside zippered pocket for my cell phone. As usual, Zappos sent it quickly when I ordered it. I am thinking about ordering another one in a different color. It\'s well worth the expense.

It's my new travel bag, for sure. This is a very secure and discrete bag that I feel safe putting my DSLR along with maps, passport, & such into while walking the streets of any city. It has tons of room for everything you'd need to carry, but it has a surprisingly small profile. It is also slightly padded inside, to better protect belongings (like my camera). This bag is comfortable. I have lower back pain, so I needed a bag that can be worn different ways, as this one does. It is unisex (except for the lilac interior;) so my husband won't fuss too much if he ends up carrying it for me. My one complaint is that I'd like to make the straps a little bit longer for across-body wear. I'd definitely recommend this little day pack.

I did a lot of research before settling on this purse. I was pleased with it when it arrived and then horrified when one of the two main zippers broke before I even got on the plane. I still felt it to be pretty secure, although I worried constantly about the other zipper failing. My family referred to it as "the security nugget". If you buy this purse, check the zippers carefully before you leave home!

The interior of this was definitely functional and clearly has a lot of security features. I ordered this in the taupe, and was at least happy that the color was a little darker than the off-white that it appeared to be online, though the style is a little drab. However, the adjustable straps were a disappointment - they only adjust half way up, and are just too long for a shorter person (5'0"). Didn't really work well as a sling, either, since the straps only zip together half way down. Sorry, but it's going back.
