I love the way these look, but I've found that this style of Dr Martens are more likely to give me blisters on my heels. I, like another reviewer here, wear a size 7.5 womens and a size UK 5 in Docs. I have these in purple and green. They are both darker in color and not bright, more subtle. On the issue of breaking in Docs - I have found that if you have to break them in, they either don't fit well or another style would be more comfortable. When I wore UK 6, I got blisters but when I went down to UK 5 it got a lot better, so if you wear a half size you might want to try going down in size, especially if you have narrow feet. For me, the thicker soled boots are more comfortable, maybe because the soles aren't as flexible and don't rub. This style has thinner soles so more blisters. I say, if they hurt, give you blisters, or rub, try a different size or style. It probably won't get better with further wear.

The shoes was really good and I got a lot of compliments when I wear it. Comfort plus style. It's all worth it!

"Buffalo Blood Virginia" is an exciting poetic description of a gorgeous coral red color; just what I wanted!!! Dansko is my first shoe choice because the designers accommodate people like me with little fat feet: 5.5 C/D/W, and their footbed has toe and arch and heel support so you can wear them for long periods of time. Doc Martens Pascal has a few drawbacks, which if you are willing to experience, make this boot a worthwhile investment: first, although the toe bed was adequate for wide feet, the instep, just behind the toes, going toward the ankle, where the lacing started, was oddly tighter and smaller than the toe bed, which could cause abrasion; second, there was no arch, toe or heel support, making walking a lot in these stylish shoes an unattractive option; thirdly, though this is a boot, which due to the climate here in northern California, I associate with autumn and winter wear, the leather is extremely thin throughout (about 1/32nd of an inch thick), thus providing no barrier to the cold, and I need warm feet to feel happy. After trying it on 3 separate times, I finally faced that though I LOVE the color, it isn't a shoe I could wear happily, so returned it. Too bad!
