These are by far the most expensive shoes I have ever bought; in fact I only considered them because they were on sale. However, the quality of the materials and workmanship is immediately apparent. They are simply much better crafted than any other shoes I own. I prefer rubber to leather soles, and the soles on these shoes are particularly comfortable. The shoes are a little stiff at first, but they break in quickly, and are comfortable all day long. The brown leather has a rich patina that I really like.

My son lives in Manhattan, NY and walks everywhere he goes. They had a horrid winter and his shoes took a beating! He wore his Allen-Edmonds Wilbert a lot as the tread soles prevented him from slipping on the ice. The soles were A-OK, but the top was a wreck. I tried ordering another pair for him but you were out. Fortunately I found the Aston on your site. He loved the burnished chili color and of course the same sole, which he says is really comfortable. He says he will wear them in the Spring as they are more refined, with his Khaki colored suits, olive suit and gray slacks. He did manage to salvage his Wilbert shoes by polishing and waxing the leather. Allen-Edmonds are the best! I will buy a pair of black ones for his birthday.

This is my second pair of Allen-Edmonds. I choose them because they offered wide sizes and they had removable insoles to accommodate orthotics. Great dress shoe that fit as advertised

I really love these shoes! I just ordered a pair in black yesterday and look forward to getting them today since Zappos is the greatest company I have dealt with online. Fast friendly and hassle free. If they have what I want, I will buy it no other place.

My second pair of Allen-Edmonds. Both are well-made, comfortable, and look sharp. Both were expensive but worth the price. These definitely have presence. Of course, Zappos service was first rate.

Allen-Edmonds Ashton - Allen-Edmond's Ashton split toe fits true to the size and this one has removable insoles so you can use Super Feet in them. The color is Chili Burnished Calf and is a great look with charcoal slacks. I wore these to work today and they look great and the laces stayed tight.

Great overall casual/dressy shoe - This is a great shoe for the casual office environment. It is well-made and very supportive. One great feature is the removable footbed, which allows for custom orthotics. This is a rare attribute in an upscale dressy shoe. The styling is up-to-date and will easily move from a casual setting to a slacks and sport coat affair. The leather used is soft and elegant-looking as well. Overall, I am very pleased with this shoe and I'm considering buying another pair in brown.

Comfort TBD - These shoes are built so sturdily that they are yet to be completely broken in after a couple of weeks of wear. Their size runs true, and I believe they will ultimately prove to be an extremely comfortable shoe. Style-wise they have a very classic feel with khakis and even a nice suit, but I do not see them working well with jeans. A very utilitarian pair of shoes; I am very satisfied with them.

Nice leather, but too scuffable... Bought these for my husband who was looking for a good everyday shoe. They're beautiful, well-made, come with a nice shoe bag, etc. BUT the leather just seems too scuffable. Alas--for this price, they're headed back!

Great color....truly goes with everything wardrobe. Only way this shoe gets better is if it's on sale.

By far the most expensive shoe I have ever purchased but the quality and style are superb. Will have to wait and see about durability.

The stitching was slightly off. I was expecting a leather sole. They were a little large, but I still love Allen Edmonds.

Great shoe. Love the color which is warm and rich, and the insert but the shoe runs large so I returned it for a half size down.

I have a pair of the predecessor to this shoe, which is called the Stockbridge. I have had them for over 10 years, and want to buy a pair of these Ashton's, but the Stockbridge shows no serious signs of falling apart. I absolutely recommend this Ashton, as it is exactly the same shoe, with a different name, and the price is perfectly reasonable given the longevity. Think of it as buying one pair of inexpensive shoes every year, and it's the same out of pocket cost. I have the black and the chili, and both are the best shoes I've ever owned.

Great, sturdy shoe. Comes in a true eee width. They are sturdy but heavy. I can really tell the difference on my legs if I walk all day in them vs walking and sitting. Good fit, well made. I would buy them again.

I am happy with the looks of this, although looks less formal due to the rubber sole. However I am very unhappy with the noise these shoes make. I keep hoping they will break in but these are the squeakiest shoes I have ever come across. It is noticeable in a moderately busy office space. I am very disappointed about these, although generally like AE shoes. Rob.

We retuned them. Ordered a 14B (narrow). My husband's foot wouldn't even fit in the shoe. I think they were sized wrong.
