I've only had my shoes for about a week, but I love them! (I have a women's size 8D.) I'm a high school student, which doesn't seem like it would require work boots, but I carry 25-30lbs of textbooks and binders up and down several flights of steep, worn smooth stairs to class every day, and spend about two hours of a 7 hour school day on my feet. I have a lot of pain from "ligamentous laxity," or loose ligaments, in my hips, knees and feet from this activity, but the last week it's been almost erased. The cushiony arch supports in these shoes allow my feet to flex and still support the extra weight of my bag, pain-free. I usually buy skate-style shoes, which almost never have arch supports but are heavily cushioned, and wear them out in about eight months or so. I think that these boots will last much longer than that (I chose these for their durability), and the insole doesn't seem to have compressed at all. The toe box is wide and tall enough for my wide feet without being clown shoes, the lacing doesn't press on the top of my foot like most structured shoes do, and the low top allows me to run and jog when necessary. They felt broken-in and wearable right out of the box! My only concern is that Timberland doesn't seem to sell replacement insoles.

I'm the high school student who reviewed these shoes a year ago. I've worn them almost every day since, and my opinion hasn't changed a bit. The oiled leather hides scuffs like magic, and the nonslip tread works beautifully on surfaces from linoleum to loose gravel. Still haven't found replacement insoles, but I also don't need them.

I purchased these shoes seven months ago. I am a machinist and as a women with larger feet I have a had a hack of a time finding safety toed shoes. I own size 11. They are quite roomy, almost big. The toe box is generously proportioned so there is no friction with the safety toe. I like these so much better than the last pair of steel toed shoes I bought; not only are they lighter and more comfortable but the composite doesn't cool off like steel does. Definitely a plus for me. I wear these shoes upwards of 10 hours a day, 5+ days a week. After seven months of having things dropped and spilt on them they aren't the prettiest but they are just as comfortable as day one.

Love this shoe. I work 11 hours on my feet on a hard cement floor (including up and down stairs consistently) and these are super comfy. It is hard to find a comfortable, hard toe work boot, but these are just that! They're also easy on the eyes.

These shoes are narrower around the toe area even when purchased in the wide width and are very uncomfortable.

Whoa. Are these safety shoes or slippers?! I work in a warehouse with concrete floors, standing all day. I had a pair of Carolina work boots oxfords with steel toe, they were okay (I thought). But these shoes are just great. Much lighter composite toe helps - doesn't feel heavy when you lift your foot like steel toe. Also the soles are curved to the way a person actually walks, so there isn't so much sole flex and toe crunching with each step. the cushioning feels nice. felt great right out of the box. I didn't even want to take them off after my 9 hour work day. I'm just so happy with this shoe. I never even usually write reviews!

Ordered yesterday, received today. Put on my feet and now I don't want to go to bed because I don't want to take them off. They are that comfortable and fit that well. Sizing and width is spot on. I don't have a job where I need all the special features of this shoe, like the safety toe, but I did want something rugged that would be comfortable and last (and besides, admit it... wearing steel/safety toe shoes/boots can make you feel like a little bit of a badass). I've worn them all afternoon and evening and I'm in love with them. The moment I put them on and took my first few steps, I knew I wouldn't need to be breaking these in. The leather is thick but supple, and the soles are sturdy but flexible. Laces have a bit of friction to them so they won't easily come untied on their own. Toe box is roomy and comfortable, and the footbed is cushiony with a little spring to it. And, frankly, they're cute and stylish. Even got a compliment on them at the pub tonight. I love that I can get a pair of tough, spunky shoes that are made for a woman's foot without having to sacrifice comfort and style.

I work in a retail environment where I am standing a lot, and working in a warehouse with lots of nasty things to drop on my toes. These shoes have been great! They\'re extremely comfortable, and it\'s nice to have a shoe with some protection that is also an oxford style - it\'s not so heavy for when I\'m walking around on the shop floor. Also, I\'ve gotten a ton of comments on how cute they are. I haven\'t had any foot problems since I bought these shoes.

I have received a number of compliments, "like your shoes" & "nice shoes". I thought they were rather cumbersome, when I first saw them. But they are wonderful too wear; I'm up and down all 8 hours of my shift. I'm a nurse who works with disabled children. I will never wear tennis shoes again at work. A most comfortable shoe, great wiggle room in the toes. There not all that pretty, but oh so comfortable. I like these shoes I wish they came in black. Zappos, keep these in stock!

I work on the dock of a warehouse and I am constantly bumping my toes against flex conveyor belt locks and other trip hazards. I do not even feel it in these shoes! They are also very stylish. I was worried that they might be too big, bulky, or heavy, but they are pretty lightweight, very comfortable and my feet do not hurt, even after 10 hours in them. I would totally recommend them to others. I mentioned how often I encounter trip hazards and bumping hazards, even so, the wear on the exterior toe box doesn't look bad. I hope they continue to hold up to all the abuse. I have been wearing them for several weeks now and from day one they were comfortable, no need to break them in ir anything. Very happy with them.

I've had so many steel toe shoes/boots throughout my life and these are by far the most comfortable pair I've ever had. I work 12 hour shifts and they are still so comfortable by the end of the night. I've never had a work shoe that didn't feel like my feet were being beaten with a hammer by the end of the shift. When these wear down, I'll definitely be buying the same shoes again.

I feel like a bad-ass in these shoes. I wore out my favorite pair of gardening shoes (simple leather, lightweight sole, steel shank) - by gardening I mean vigorous work with a shovel, wheelbarrowing, and lots of up and down. It's hard to find something sturdy enough to handle stomping on a shovel and also allow crouching and hands-and knees work. I thought I'd never find something so workable for what I do, and I spent half a season swaping out shoes that caused me foot pain. These have seen months of work and I have seen no pain, no troubles (with my feet), and I forget I am even wearing them. Except for how bad-ass they make me.

i have gotten so many compliments at work on theses shoes. I work in a wearhouse so I am on my feet all day with cement floors these shoes have great grip. They are extremely comfortable I really didn't have to break them in. There so stylish that if you have to go out after work they don't look like you are wearing work shoes. The size is true however, I do wear an 8 but got 8.5 have room to wiggle my toes.

These shoes are really comfortable! I have wide feet so I'm glad they had the option and luckily I decided to order half a size bigger and they fit great. I also have high arches and I felt supported with these shoes. I think the style is good with a pair of flared jeans/work pants.

Absolutely great look and feel for a safety low cut work shoe. Unfortunately after about wearing about 6 hours my ankles began to move side to side due loose tendons/ligaments. Love them so much going to keep them and use for short errand trips. My heels are quite narrow with a M. toe box , even with ankle supports on both.

Just received these shoes and wanted to write an initial review and will follow up with another one after I've worn them a bit. I have a very flat right foot and I over supinate, and my left foot has as bunion. I am on my feet on concrete all day at least 10 hours and I am very hard on shoes. I have a pair of Timberland Pro 6 inch boots with a soft toe (which I adore!) but wanted a shorter shoe for spring/summer so ordered these. I was initially concerned about the safety toe and how it would feel where my toes bent (where my bunion is) and if the toe box would be roomy enough. So far I've found the safety toe to be a non issue and after adjusting the lacing and it's really nice to have the lacing come down so low for custom adjustment and there is no discomfort in my left foot, and both my feet feel very well supported. I haven't even put my custom orthotics in them yet and at this point I don't think I will! So my initial review is that these are GREAT! I even like the chunky look of them; they go great with my jeans, both blue and black. Thank you, thank you Timberland and Zappos! Oh by the way, I ordered the same size as my 6 inch boots, 8D, and they I feel that the sizing is consistent and true.

These shoes looked good and felt good and appeared to be high quality but the 8.5 was just a little too roomy. Thick, winter socks would probably solve the issue but it is August so I am going to have to return for an eight. This is fourth pair of Amazon work voucher shoes that I am returning and Zappos customer service has been awesome every time. Work shoes must fit correctly and be very comfortable for hours on end.

I have to wear steel toe shoes at work, these are comfortable for bending my foot. Does not rub on my toes. Width is nice even with a thick sock. The shoe is well made holds up nicely. I stand 8 hours on cement I only wish the insole would last long. I've hade mine for about 6 months and the insole has been pretty wore down in a few months. Looking on this site to see if I can possibly purchase new insoles because the shoe it's self is still in great shape. The insole wears out in the ball of the foot area.

Love these. I've been wearing the regular boot like these for years, was beyond stoked I found them in a low ankle and in woman's! I know I'll wear them for years. Just wish the would come in black.
