Cute but not for me, this boot was adorable. The brown leather paired with the two-toned purple stitching was subtle but very pretty. Where the boot comes together in the back, right behind your calf, the leather is cut in a scalloped way and is very flattering to your legs. I am a size 7, and these in a size 7 fit me perfectly, and were still very roomy. The soles were true to the write-up and were very comfy. However, I ended up returning these boots in favor of some Lucchese ones, for several reasons. The Ariats are made in China, the sole is rubber and not leather, the leather of the boot is very stiff and doesn't move with you too well, the shaft is very wide and didn't hug my calf, the toe box was more round than it looked in the pictures, and they were very clunky to walk in (a lot of heel-toe rocking, as opposed to a smooth step). Overall though, they were my second runner-up, and so a great boot! More stylish than cowgirl. And thank you to Zappos for having my boots arrive the very next day!

Great Boots - I love the Ariat boots. The fit is great although a little hard to get on and off and the heel slips a little but otherwise very comfortable. They look great with wider leg boot jeans and skirts. I have a very high instep so I usually go a 1/2 size bigger in boots, so I am glad I did not go smaller as other reviews recommended. I still went the 1/2 size bigger and the fit fine.

Ariat's Heritage Western - First, I have the Heritage boot in Cognac and they are great. The dk brown Heritage boot is much stiffer. The leather is not soft like the Cognac boot and the finish is not as good. I have to say the Ariat boot is still one of the most comfortable boots out there. I just think they should be consistent. I would expect one Heritage boot to be the same as another.

I ordered these boots in my regular size, but I couldn't even get my foot into them, they were so narrow.

The boots are really pretty and true to size. The problem is that they are too narrow on the ankles (and I have small ankles) and hurt the bone. I am very sad that I will have to return them!

Great boots that have lasted me years

Great, comfortable boot! Wore them the next day I received them and didn't experience any pain. I always wear a 8.5 in shoes and because of other reviews, ordered my normal size and even with a pair of socks, they were a perfect fit. Definitely recommend.

The quality of these boots is amazing and refreshing in this age of shoddy goods. Heavy leather, beautiful stitching, well-made all around. Tight to get on and off, but once on, surprisingly roomy in the toe box for such a pointy boot. I would normally need a 12 in this style of boot but the 11 fits me perfectly, even in standard width. The leather is stiff but will hopefully soften with time.

I love these boots! I have never worn cowboy boots before, and was relieved to find that they fit perfectly. And even my friend from Texas (who should know her cowboy boots!) complimented them, especially the stitching. I am a happy camper.

"Wow" is all I can say. I wanted some true Western boots and I love these. They are super comfortable and sexy. I couldn't decide on the R-toe or the J-toe but I went with the J-toe because the pointed toe looks very feminine and can make for a more dressy look. I got the dark brown color and it's perfect with touches of light brown in the leather. My only complaint is I've worn them once and have had a hard time breaking in the shaft of the boot -- it rubs against my leg (next time I'll wear skinny jeans instead of a skirt, at least until I break them in a bit). The foot part needs no breaking in and is so comfortable. I ordered my usual size 8...I'd say they fit true to size. If you haven't worn cowboy boots before, you want the "heel slip" so no need to go smaller but don't go bigger either because you'll have plenty of room for socks. I rated this 5 stars because of the quality, comfort, and cuteness! Zappos also has the best customer service ever - I ordered these and they were on my doorstep the next day!

First time I bought this brand, and I am thrilled. I have been wearing those boots almost every day for a year now, and they are so comfortable. I really never felt better in a pair of shoes. I am now pregnant, and still, it is so easy to walk with them when it is so painful with all my other pair of shoes. They are beautiful, elegant and wild. The picture looks like the reality.

I usually wear a 7 1/2 - 8. I ordered the 7 1/2 and my foot felt a little loose around the heel. I ordered the 7 and they fit perfectly. They do need a little breaking in (the leather is a little tight but I can already see the difference in one wear). Very cute boot!

Always wanted a pair of cowboy boots and heard that Ariats were really comfortable. Took the plunge and have loved my boots. Traveling in Europe and Asia with them now. Good price and free shipping at Zappos made the choice simple.

These boots are so comfortable. I love the Sassy Brown color...it has shades of dark and coppery brown in it. Very versatile. They look great with jeans or a cute dress.

Finally found THE ONE! I have tried on MANY cowboy boots! I always have to have boots with a zipper because boots are usually so hard to get on (I don't have wide feet either). I'm 5'8'', 120 lbs.), especially cowboy boots. But not these! They took a little effort but nothing compared to my sad attempts at cowboy boots before. They are comfortable and so stylish! I wear them over my skinny jeans but I'm excited to wear them with my skirts in the summer!

Love these boots! Perfect fit and comfortable even the very first time you wear them. Easy on and off too.

I have never bought cowgirl boots without trying them on so I never paid attention to the calf fit, it just always worked out. The first pair I bought my legs looked too thin in them but this pair fit perfect. So when buying, pay attention to the size of the boot upper. They come in different circumferences. These are comfortable even with no socks and a summer dress.

Love these boots! I have very flat feet and arthritis in a toe on my left foot. I tried on Arias boots at local stores, but they didn't have my size. I have ordered from Zappos many times in the past and knew if they didn't fit, it was free shipping to return. I wore these boots for 12 hours straight and my feet didn't hurt a bit. They will slip in the heels at first until they get used to your feet. Don't worry. Highly recommend!

Great basic black boot with pretty scalloped top. They go with everything and are so comfy. Better than sneakers and so much prettier. I can't stop buying Ariat boots. Help!

Before buying or reviewing cowboy boots please do some reading, they don't fit like other shoes or boots. These boots are very comfortable! I have plantar fasciitis & can still walk, stand & ride in these all day pain free! Fit true to size for me.

I have six pairs of Ariat boots. One red, 3 black (short, regular and just below the knee) and 2 brown, including Western R Toe, Roper, Legend and Billie. I love these boots. They give me height without instability. With a pair of good socks they keep me warm in Maine. They also have rubber soles which are good in snow and ice. My favorites are black Billie, which I confess I took to the cobbler to remove the dusting/greying. They fit like a glove. The Roper is less cowgirl boot and more work boot, so does not fit like a glove around the instep. I bought my first pair at a local store, half price thinking I would not be out that much if I did not like them, but I did like them and 4 of the 6 were bought on Zappos of course!

I could not wait to sit down and write this review! I have been looking for black pointed toe boots for a while now. My issue was fuller calves and these fit like a dream with room to spare for jeans to tuck in! Comfortable you ask? Lets just say this, I've been hanging out in my PJ's all day, sick. :( And these came! I kept them on with my PJs! I did order a 1/2 size smaller. Went in store and tried on some Ariats and an 8 was to big. You wont be disappointed! Love the trim cutout by the way and Zappos was so fast! Good job Ariat!
