These are the cutest shoes ever, they looked amazing on my feet. The only problem was walking in them. NOT COMFORTABLE for me, at all. Each step was a pain. So sad, because I love them! Had to send back.

I wanted to love these but the leather was so stiff these didn't fit my foot at all and there was going to be no adjustment available. I agree with the other reviewer that the angle of where the buckle ended up was not comfortable at all. These were a fail for me.

I love Birkenstocks, and have had many pairs. However, they fail to realize that not everybody has narrow feet and stick limbs. My legs are shapely, and my ankles narrow considerably, but the ankle straps are waaaay too short. I would have to pay for shoe repair to extend them. It's too bad because they stopped making many of the cute styles and colors a few years ago. A regular-width classic foot bed shoe/sandal in various dark eggplant, olive green, sea blue, or black leather/suede is what the majority of the population wants in feminine footwear. Birkenstock is having trouble delivering lately.

I love these shoes ! I lived in Germany for a long time so Birkenstock is a go to comfort shoe for me. I wear a size 8-US which doesn't really work with the size chart because every pair of Birkenstocks I own is a 38. I have this particular sandal in Black, Dark Brown and Tobacco. Reading the reviews before I ordered seemed to lean towards needing a larger size which I did originally order but I should have kept with what I know and ordered the 38...Returned...Replaced...Happy Customer times 3 :-) Thank you Zappos for great customer service !

I was never a fan of Birkenstock. But these I thought were really feminine and super stylish. Friends would tell me how comfortable Birks were, so I decided to give them a try. At first I thought, they (my friends) were absolutely crazy! They were not comfortable at all and I couldn’t return them because I had worn them outside. Nonetheless, I continued to wear them, and about a week later I was so happy I did! THE MOST COMFORTABLE SANDALS I’VE EVER OWNED! I Just had to break them in.

I ordered these for my daughter to replace a pair she had that wore out after several years. Ordered the same size, but the footbed on this pair was shorter than the previous pair. I don’t wear Birkenstocks; maybe they have resized in the past few years since older reviews stated that they felt too large?

I was nervous about sizing because I have wide feet and the reviews said to size down. I decided to stick to my normal size. I am a 9.5/ 10 and ordered a 40. I’m a teacher and on my feet all day. We are also required to have a back strap on our shoes. These fit the bill! I did find the ankle strap to be short but it seems like they will stretch. So happy with these sandals!

I loved these sandals. Wore them hard for three summers. Very comfortable and versatile.

The 37 fits great. I usually wear a 7 or 7.5. Trying to break in... the toe ring takes some getting used to. My first pair of Birks and they’re very cute!

These shoes really are awesome. I ordered both 38 and 39 after reading mixed reviews on sizing, and they did run a full size too large on me (I'm normally an 8.5). I ended up keeping the 38's. I wore them on a recent trip where I was walking at least 9 miles a day on trails, roads, and cobbled streets. I was shocked at how comfortable they were - absolutely no blisters! The longest distance in these was 13 miles and they kept my feet happy! And they're cute and timeless too. :)

Ankke strap felt weird. It was awkward to walk in.

I ordered one size smaller and my actual size. I wear 6.5 regular but due to the reviews I ordered a size smaller 36 and my actual size 37. I felt comfortable with the 36 but my big toe was too close to the edge to I stuck with the slightly larger/wider 37. Overall he fit is okay but for some reason they feel clunky to me, more so on the wider side. When I step I feel the grooves on the ball of my foot. So I wouldn’t call these comfortable. I can see how they would be an extremely comfy sandal but due to sizing problems, they’re not, throw in the price factor? They’re a no go for me. But I ended up sticking with them coz I tested them outdoors. Maybe if I’m not an in between size, they’d have had a better fit. It could also be that I need to walk in them a while longer so the cork part will mold to my foot. But they are otherwise cute. One point to note is that I’m not really a narrow footed person but I guess I am in these.

The leather is stiff and difficult to work with. The straps are too short to easily clip the buckle and too wide to be comfortable. I would like a shoe that separates my large toe from the others, but with the stiff, large leather straps, it is far to uncomfortable to wear for longer than an hour. I am returning. Seriously hot in Bend this past mont and I needed sandals, but these did not work.

I have a narrow foot and unfortunately, these are way too wide. The ankle straps are a bit awkward and stiff. I have several pairs of birkenstocks but this style goes back. Did love the style.....wish they made them in narrow with softer ankle straps.

After trying these on I can see why so many people had issues with the length of the ankle strap, and the strap across the top of the toes. Lucky for me, these fit perfectly if I have the straps on the tightest fitting. Now that I've fully broken these in I really like them, and find them to be really comfortable.

Gave them to my granddaughter but she did not like how the ankle strap felt. Her mom, who wears the same size, tried them and felt the same way. They will be returned.

My favorite Birks yet!! ?? They’re stylish and were the most comfortable ones I have owned right out the box. Loving the ankle strap. Very in style and a nice option to have for all day walking. Of course it takes that extra second but on the plus side you could wear them on a roller coaster ????? Worth Every Penny! GET THEM!

I was looking for a sandal with a heel strap to give my foot more support as I do a lot of walking. While this is a cute shoe I did not think the strap provided me with much more support than the non strap Birkenstocks I have. Cute and comfortable - just not what I was looking for

So excited to receive these! My daughter ordered a pair of Birkenstocks about 6-9 months ago and has been raving about them. When I saw this style, had to order! I typically wear a size 8-8.5 M in other brands. I ordered a 39 in these sandals in the color "tobacco" which literally goes with everything. Right out of the box the footbed felt comfy. Wearing them the first day, struggled with the buckle straps a bit. The straps themselves were comfortable as they are wide soft leather however, where they criss-cross across the front/top of my ankle area had me concerned. They felt fine walking around but when going DOWN any stairs, the criss cross buckle straps pinched with each step-ouch! I read other reviews that said to play around with how tight you have the straps which I did without resolving the pinching problem. Alas, I found the solution! I had crossed over the buckle straps where the "short buckle strap" was laying OVER the "long strap" which I figured would be more comfortable-nope! If you have this same problem, I recommend that you try crossing the buckle strap where the "short buckle strap" is UNDER the "long strap". Note that this appears to be the opposite of the way you see the sandal buckled in photos. Crisis averted and no more pinching! Very happy I played around with the straps. LOVE these sandals and bring on the stairs now!

I love Birkenstocks. I am a size 8 and ordered a 38. They fit great. The leather is stiff but will soften with wear.

These are my first pair of Birkenstock sandals and..I'm hooked. I had moderately flat feet made even flatter by a recent pregnancy and none of my shoes fit like they used to. I heard Birkenstocks offered good arch support but that they'd take a while + a lot of pain to break in and while I find the former true, definitely not the latter. I wore them around the house for a few hours before I wore them out and that was enough. I took the advice given by a lot of people here to order several sizes down and that did NOT work for me. I'm typically between a U.S. 7.5-8 and originally ordered these in a 37 and they were too short. I re-ordered in a 38 and they're perfect! My heel fits well in the heel cup and my toes do not touch the front ridge, with the toe bar landing right where it should. I have small ankles and had to add a couple extra holes to the straps, but now they fit perfectly! I also think they're kind of cute with dresses. LOVE these so much I went and bought a pair to wear in the house (Amsterdams) and I'm eyeing the Gizehs. Uh oh, I think I may have developed a problem :S

I used the recommended size and unfortunately it was one size too large. The quality looked fine and I liked the style but in the future I will rely on my own judgement with respect to size.

Amazing shoe. I'm a 6.5 in shoes but wear a 36 in this.
