These shoes are so great! I bought it in both brown and black. I wear them everyday...easy to dress up or down. Definitely a spring/summer staple. Lots of support, so comfortable its like your not even wearing shoes!

Beautiful sandal, but dang it! Loved the style and weight of the shoe as well as the oiled leather straps. I REALLY wanted these to fit. However, the transition of the sandal around my ankle was odd. Sadly, they are going back.

It broke within a couple hours of walking on flat, paved terrain. Very disappointed

These run large (length and width). I'm normally an 8/8.5 and ended up having to exchange for a full size smaller. In addition, the ankle straps pull on your ankle with every step making it really uncomfortable if you're planning on doing a lot of walking. Also, the coloring from the straps rubs off so your ankles end up being all black when you take them off. These are really cute but for the price and comfort level, I would not recommend buying these.

OVERALL Overall the Birkenstock Yara is absolutely comfortable and not to mention adorable. I purchased the color Habana Oiled Leather I received compliments especially the cute ankle strap since it’s not the typical Birkenstock’s look. I still gave these sandals the 5 stars it deserves. I did knock 2 stars off for comfort since they were the incorrect size recommendation. SIZING I purchased the recommended size I normally wear (8-8.5); however, it ended up being too big. Even after adjusting the toe and ankle strap, my feet kept slipping and I wasn’t able to feel nor enjoy the full use of the toe bar and arch support. So I ended up giving that pair to my mom who is normally a size 9-9.5. It fit her perfectly! I’d recommend sizing down. I purchased the size 38 Regular (7-7.5) since I’m quite flat footed. WEAR It does take some time for your feet to conform to the footbed. I got blisters near the ball of my foot the first week I broke them in. It was quite painful, but after I got through that bump my feet have now conformed to the footbed. These are hands down the most comfortable sandals I own. I no longer get lower back pain even after hours of walking. It has excellent support! Another tip is how I lay the straps so it doesn’t move too much. I actually lay the shorter strap underneath (closets to my skin) and then wrap the longer strap over and then buckle. I find that in this position the straps rub less causing any friction and blistering. FINAL THOUGHTS I’ve had this pair for almost a year and they’ve become my absolute favorite pair of sandals. I’m now 7 months pregnant. With pregnancy comes lower back and hip pain. These sandals eliminated that issue. In addition, it has become more of a challenge to bend down to buckle and unbuckle the straps so to remedy that, I’ve purchased the Mayari in Tobacco Leather and in the same size. I will include a review for that after I’ve had some time to try it out. So get these pair of Yara Birkenstock’s! You won’t regret it!

The most absolutely perfect pair of Birkenstock. I ordered my regular Birkenstock size and they fit perfect. Shipping was incredible, as always. The ankle strap is small, make sure to consider this before purchasing. Thanks for another easy purchase Zappos!

Love these Birks! The ankle strap is a cute addition. I get tons of compliments on these and love to wear with dresses and shorts.

I normally wear a US size 9, but I ordered the 8-8.5 (39). I also have thin—but not narrow feet. I was concerned about the width, since the description says Birkenstock’s narrow shoe will fit medium width as well. The shoes fit nicely. The adjustable straps allow the shoe to fit securely. However, the soles are very stiff, so I spent some time flexing/rolling them to allow for a more natural movement when I walk. The arch support is sufficient. Comfy sandals!

I have been eyeing these Birks for a few years now, but #1) they're hard to find and #2) I was always worried the ankle straps would be too loose and/or painful. So, I told myself if I ever found them in my size in the "Antique Brown" color that I would get them. Well, I did and I love them. I am a size 8, but order one full size down in Birkenstocks (37) as I find they run a full size large. I ordered the Yara's in the regular width, but I received the narrow width by mistake. A great mistake as these Birks must run slightly wide as I normally find 37N to fit a bit too snug, especially around my heel; however, these are perfect in every way. The straps fit comfortably around my skinny ankles on the smallest setting & they require no breaking in period. Comfort right out of the box! The leather is very soft and the Antique Brown color is absolute perfection! So happy with these Birks. I was able to score them on sale, but I wouldn't hesitate to pay full price.

I love these, and the footbed fit and felt great, but the strap wasn’t long enough to go around my ankle.

I had to return these shoes because the straps that went around the ankle were insanely too long. The holes to do the buckle ended about 1.5" from where I would actually need to fasten the strap. I do have enormous feet, so maybe the designers expected long feet=thick leg? If you have size 10 feet and thin/normal legs, you may have the same problem. Too bad because the style was really cute!

The size I usually wear in Birkenstocks was huge - just taking out of the box I thought the wrong size had been shipped but they just run really big. I ordered a size smaller and the length fit - but the ankle strap didn’t go all the way around my ankle. For reference, I am a size 4-6 in women’s clothing and my ankles are proportional to the rest of me, so it was just really weird. If you have large feet and tiny ankles, these are the shoes for you.

I was disappointed in receiving my purchase today because I received shoes that weren’t new. They had already been worn. They not only looked well worn but even had strands of long hair looped around the straps. I’m very disappointed that Zappos would let this happen. After all, I paid for new shoes, not previously worn shoes. Perhaps Zappos should have a discount bin for those not looking to pay full price than risk upsetting customers.

I have had my Yara's for about 2 years. They are my go to casual shoes in summer. I always wear a 38 in Birks and these are no exception. The fit is the same as all my other Birks (and I have about 5 pair). I love how leg-slimming and flattering the ankle strap is with capris, shorts, skirts and ankle pants. Wish they would come out with these in other colors besides black and brown.

This is a very cute sandal and super comfortable. I am on the fence about keeping it though. While I love the look of the ankle strap, one of the reasons that I like Birkenstock’s is because I can easily slide them on and off. While the strap is one of the things that I like about the shoe, it is also the reason that I don’t know if I will be keeping these sandals. The ankle strap may be too much of a “commitment” for me.

I love these Birks! They are my second pair - exact same style. They last forever and I literally live in them year round! My last pair lasted over 2 years of continuous use. I have flat feet and these provide me with the support I need to put miles in on vacations or days out and about and still look cute while maintaining stability and healthy feet! The straps keep the sandal connected to my feet for more comfort!

I really like how these fit, they fit how I imagined them. I ordered my regular size and they fit a little loose, but that’s how I imagined Birkenstock’s would fit. Kind of a subjective experience, I suppose. If you prefer a snugger fit, perhaps order a size down. I was a little concerned at first that they would be too stiff, but they broke in quite nicely. Now I understand what all the Birkenstock hype was about. These are my first pair!

I love Birkenstock’s. I trust this brand to be of great quality. They’re timeless. I ordered this pair for a summer Europe trip and felt completely comfortable in them all day long.

These are hands-down the most comfortable sandal I have ever worn. 100% worth your money! I have narrow feet with high arches and a pronating left foot. I have been advised that my feet benefit from an ankle strap. I have heard great things about Birkenstocks and finally tried these shoes. I wore these for a festival and was on my feet longer than I expected but felt no pain. I have even tried walking for about four miles in these shoes and was still comfortable. The ankle strap makes them look cuter so they can be worn with casual dresses too. I highly recommend the Birkenstock Yara!

I bought these to replace the Mayari style that I've been wearing for the past few years. These are very similar but have the addition of the ankle strap. The Mayaris that I've been wearing were a narrow size but I ordered the regular width from Zappos. I didn't see that there was a narrow option for this style. The shoes seem a little longer than my narrow width shoes but they actually seem to fit better. It took me a few weeks to get the Mayari style broken in but the Yaras were comfortable from the moment I took them out of the box. It's taken me a few days to get used to the ankle straps, though. I had them too tight on my first day of extended wear but they've given me no problems since I've started wearing them a little looser. I like that they're a little more secure on my foot with the ankle strap, but they're still loose enough to feel like comfy Birkenstocks. I bought the tobacco color and I was afraid that they would be too light but they are the perfect shade of brown. They look great with dresses, shorts, or pants. Truly a versatile shoe.

Fit and size great. The only problem I have is with the ankle strap, not long enough for me. I have wider ankles and I wish that manufacurers could have some type of sizing for those of us who don't have smaller ankles. The strap fit my 11 year old daughter who wears a girls 4.5 but not in my size EU 41 (US 10). I have the Mayari and love them was hoping this would be a way to switch things up for summer but unfortunately it did not work out. Cute and I have the other

I wear a 7.5 and I purchased a full size smaller and they fit perfectly. I highly recommend purchasing a full size smaller

I LOVE these shoes! After reading the reviews I decided to go with my normal size in hopes the ankle strap was long enough for my ankles. I normally wear between a 7.5 and 8, ordered my usual 38 and they fit fine!

Super comfy right out of the box! Very feminine style. I am a solid 39 in Birkenstock, and these were true to size. They’ll feel a tad larger however because of the much wider footbed ....but I can tell if I attempted to size down they’d be too small. It’s not the size, just the width to consider. Skinny/very narrow feet might not work in these. But love them overall!!!
