This color is pretty awkward. Doesn't seem like the typical grey sort of has this brownish tint that I just can't get with. The sole is super thick. I suppose some people like this but I feel like I'm wearing platforms, especially since they will not properly form to my feet.
I don't really wear them. Wish I could return but I've worn them once already.

Either I can't seem to break these in or they're not as comfortable as the old versions. They're super thick which would be nice if they would form to my feet better. Currently sitting in my closet because I've worn them a few times and cannot return them. Sucks, such a waste.
Zappos has a great 365 day return policy but it says return in the state that they were received. Not sure how you would know if you are 100% satisfied without giving them a try. :/

I've been buying Reef sandals for quite a while. While still a good sandal, they are smaller all around and not as soft as my previous ones. They were not called Smoothys when I bought my last pair, but they look mostly the same with the EVA foot bed. When held up against each other, it's easy to see that the new ones are shorter and the EVA is not as soft. Still a good sandal, just not a great one for me.

Just received to replace my aged ones that have stood up very well to a lot of use. What I notice immediately: Length: these are smaller than my previous size 8 (held them together to verify after I tried them on). Width: they also feel narrower and takes a bit of effort to get my feet into the straps. (I'm hoping this will change once the straps stretch a little bit) Comfort: the foot bed does not feel as spongy as my previous pair. The new foot bed feels far more stiff. (I can't really speak on the comfort difference yet, though) Sole: while the sole looks identical, this sole feels more like hard plastic versus any kind of rubber. When walking on hard wood floors, the sole actually slips on the floors! If it makes any difference, mine are marked as made in Mexico. Overall, I'm not thrilled about the differences that I detect and will put them through the paces in my upcoming travel as my primary foot wear.

The Smoothy flip flops live up to their name. Very comfortable, and when I first put them on they immediately fit (I am a size 8). The arch allows just enough support. These are great for going outside. However, I cannot give these flops a five star overall rating because they leave markings behind on certain textures (wood being one of them). I can't wear them in my own house. If not for that unfortunate fact, these things would be a steal for their price.

THESE RUN VERY SMALL! I put this Reef size 6 next to my son's current size 5 Teva flip flop. The Reef 6 was SMALLER then the Teva 5! ORDER UP! =)

BEWARE - the smoothy runs very small! After nine years, the strap on one of my smoothy flip-flops finally broke. I had them so long, the size marking rubbed-off. I normally wear a women's size 6 1/2, so I assumed I needed a men's size 5. The size 5 was so small that I couldn't get the ball of my foot past the strap. I sent the flip-flops to my best friend who wears a women's size 5 1/2 and her toes hung off the end of the flip-flop about 1/4 inch. Otherwise, the flip-flop appeared to be very well made and had plenty of cushion and arch support.

I have had several pairs of Reef thongs over the years. This is the first time they are uncomfortable. They are tight across the top of my foot. I keep thinking they will break-in and be OK. Time will tell. If you are buying them, consider one size larger than usual, even if you have had Reef's before.

These sandals pale in comparison to what Reefs used to be. I bought these for my husband, and they were so narrow and small that he gave them to me to wear. They're just okay. The quality is not what it was a few years ago. I won't be purchasing Reefs again.

Reef apparently has changed their sizing on their flip flops. My last pair was a 10 that I had for about 18 months. I ordered another 10 this time but now it's too small. I also noticed that they are made in Mexico now and not China. Anyway, I sent the 10 back and got a 11 but the piece that goes between the toes on the right shoe is a 1/2 inch differently placed than the left shoe. I like these flip flops but the quality control seems to have gone down and they now have a slicker bottom on them than my old pair. Now, I have to send these back. I may have to look at some other choice.

Big problem with the size of this years"Smoothy", model. I have a size 12 to 13 foot depending on where product is manufactured. I ordered these in a 13. When I put them on, my feet barley fit in space now provided. The problem is that over time, the cousin starts to give and the flip flop starts to squash down or flatten out. When this happens, the foot has more chances of slipping over the edges of sole. Last years model, as the years prior, had more space around the foot; sides, front and back. So, when the flattening started to happen, my feet stayed safely on the flip flop. Unfortunately the manufacture Reef used for this years model, must have decided to save a few cents and cut off some of the material on the "Smoothy". Reef should have made this clear and told the customer to buy one size up. Its a cheap move and they should have corrected it. I love my "smoothys", and get a pair every year. I hope this isn't my last year. I'll see how this pair wears. They usually last about 8 to 12 months. I fear this years will not last as long due to their cost cutting on quality. We will see.

Nice looking, but the straps are very tight - okay for a narrow foot. I ordered a half size larger than my normal size, and had trouble slipping my foot in. Hopefully will loosen up a bit with wear. The length was also shorter than what I expected - the length is almost too perfect - heel to toe - despite the fact I ordered a half size larger than my size. Actually checked the tags to make sure I got the size I ordered!

These used to be the best sandals out there. Now they are too small and too narrow. I don't know why they messed with something that was so good. They are still very comfortable, but too narrow and about a half size too small. Hope they go back to how they were or this will be my last pair!

I just got these, so I am giving them some time to break in. As stated in the other reviews, these are not the same quality as Reef sandals in the past: The tag is no longer rubber (it is thin fabric) - The straps feel tighter and thinner. The whole sandal feels smaller and narrower I am going to see if they get better, but am not very happy with the new product. I miss the Reef's I have been buying since college!

Way too narrow so be sure to order a wider width than you normally do. And I wear a 10.5 shoe but the size 11 I ordered was a right length. Would have returned them but didn't want to go through the process for a shoe at this price. Will be able to wear them but a very disappointing flip-flop.

It is very comfortable, maybe a little high of a platform for a masculine flop. Personally I have sweaty feet and the flip flop did not handle that so well and I have had to wash them several times.

Bought these for my boyfriend he\'s not a flip flop person, he tried Reef Fanning last summer, and they are very uncomfortable because of the non-flexible sole, so I had him try these. He says they have a very comfortable base however the straps are too tight and the shoe is very narrow. If you have thin feet they\'re great! Wish they worked out for him.

I am not sure why these are so narrow and stiff now, but they are just not what they used to be. I have had three pair of these over the last ten or so years, but now I am going to have to find another brand because of the fit and design changes. I have a narrow foot and yet these are too tight and the footbed is too narrow. I don't know how a man or anyone with an average width foot could wear them.

I wanted slip-ons that would work in a wet environment, going from the house to the hot tub. These are not that. When my feet are wet I cannot simply slip into them. Instead, I have to use my hands and actually wrestle the cloth/plastic "thong material" onto my foot.

I heard so many reviews that these were the best flip flops ever. Sorry I can’t jump on that bandwagon. They are mediocre at best thus the 2 stars. One disappointing feature is that the black rubs off on my feet so I perpetually have black marks on my feet. I haven’t had that with flip flops to my memory.

What a disappointment! I have owned 3 pairs previously that fit perfect. The sizes are WAY off. Will not buy again.

Flip flop shoes are cushy comfort. My right foot strap was shipped to0 long. Consequently the right shoe slips when walking. Also, the right shoe arch supports flattens quickly soon after use. Does REEF have a comfortable foot bed flip flop with a stronger arch support?

Size was small for an 11. I own two other pairs of Reef flip flops that I bought a few years ago. Those fit great, but these were about one size too small.

The shoes are really comfortable. I bought a pair last year and they wore out so I went to find a new pair this year. Unfortunately, they changed the design to include the braid pattern and now I seriously wonder if these are men's shoes.
