Great sandal - I saw an advertisement for the Birkenstock's Madrid in one of my magazines and immediately wanted them...Ordered them from Zappos that day and received them the very next day...I was impressed to say the least with Zappos...Immediate gratification!!! The shoes are super...Comfortable and smart looking...Thank you Zappos...

Comfort - These sandals are the most comfortable I have every worn. My feet are never sore.

I really like the style of these, especially the smaller buckle compared to the oversized ones. My only drawback is that they aren’t leather. I’ve only worn them a handful of times so I can’t speak to the durability yet. Since I usually wear barefoot shoes, the shape of the sole has made my feet a little sore. That said, based on my past experience with Birkenstocks, the sole tends to break down and mold to the foot over time, so I don’t expect this to be a long-term issue. The width is very comfortable. Hopefully they last as long as my previous pairs of leather Birkenstock's!

I typically wear 7.5 and went with a 38 at first, I felt that the shoe was longer than my foot, but the band was on the narrow size. Although I was worried about the band, I returned that and I got a 37. To my surprise the band was wider than the 38. I actually had to buckle it down on the second hole. So I would say try a few sizes, that's what's amazing about Zappos, they take the return easily if it doesn't fit. Now I have size 37 and it is plenty wide for me. I'm happy with the Birkenstock. About the comfort part, I'm still waiting for the magic part, that's my first one. It felt hard on my feet at first (which I read is normal and have to wait past this point) but it is very cute as far as Birkenstocks go and I'm still waiting for the comfort part.

I bought these in an 8N. It seems like the narrow has the same size footbed as a medium, and by tightening the strap, you can make it sort of narrow-ish. It felt okay on the tightest setting, but with such a wide footbed it looked pretty unattractive on my feet. Other than that, the cork soles are lightweight and nicely shaped to fit a human foot (just not mine). Too bad, I'm returning them.

Great at first, very comfortable, but after a couple of weeks usage the strap has gotten a lot bigger and I need to get new holes made for them to fit me.

Style and size were right but my toes kept hitting the edge of the shoe. Not for me.

The sandals fit fine. However they were obviously previously worn, with feet prints inside the sole, a broken and open box, and without the usual wearing advice leaflet that comes with Birkenstocks. It is dishonest to be selling used shoes for the full price and without disclosing they were worn.

The shoes are very comfortable. I have narrow feet, and they fit well.

These were very comfortable. I wore them quite frequently when I was touring Spain and had no issues. They are now my go to sandal.

I love it! Love the color and overall look of the shoe. You certainly have to break it in a bit to get it extra comfy!

Great style if you like Birkenstocks. I love the Madrid and the Madrid big buckle. I have 6 pair between the two styles. They support my feet all day. This pair is labeled copper but it really is more of a rose gold. Love the color.

Love these...I'm typically a 6.5-7.0 in sandals and the 37 fit perfectly. They did require a little breaking in...now they fit perfectly. Highly recommend.

I've first bought Birkenstocks when they were trendy, but now I buy them because I'm old and have a foot issue. Same great fitting, sturdy sandals. I'm not crazy about the material that comprise the strap as it cheapens the look. But they fit well and feel great, so a win overall.

I love these shoes! They are the perfect, supportive around-the-house shoe while still being cute enough for public outings. I NEVER wear a narrow shoe, but I've only ever seen this in narrow width, and they fit perfectly fine. Birko-Flor is not leather, it is more like a vinyl covered felt. It is very comfy, but my 5-year old pair of well-worn, white Madrids started showing cracks in the surface over time, which didn't look very nice. I suggest actually loosening the buckle on these rather than breaking them in as you might with leather Birks. I also have a pair of the big buckle Madrids, and those just aren't as comfortable since the wide buckle can press into the top of the foot when taking larger steps. I hope Birkenstock keeps making these and brings them out in more colors!

I had the plastic waterproof Madrid last year and liked them. The cushioned full-body Madrid is a major upgrade and perfect in every way. The cushioned footbed is very comfortable and the single strap fits perfectly. I have very high arches and arthritis in my feet so having a strap that fits closer to the toes is important for me. These felt comfortable from the moment I stepped into them and I am buying a second pair so that I can alternate them - these will be my go-to sandals for the season. Although they are in the "narrow" size, they fit my regular to wide feet perfectly and have a dressier look.

Probably 20 years ago I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. My podiatrist offered shots, surgery, or wearing these kinds of foot-beds. I've had these on ever since and have never had any more pain.

I hesitated to order this shoe: it says narrow, even though "narrow" for Birkenstock says it still fits average feet. My feet are certainly not narrow, and I have never worn a narrow comfortably before this shoe. I think the intention here is to have a narrower profile and not be so bulky, and to that end, this shoe is a success. I have feet that can no longer where a "ballerina" type shoe as it squeezes the toe box and exacerbates bunionettes on my pinky toe bones. These shoes give all the Birkenstock arch support I love and are much more attractive than my Arizona-style Birkenstocks. I'm a teacher and I stand on my feet all day. I have worn these with capri pants, skinny pants, and long knit skirts. They were immediately comfortable right out of the box, with no "break in" period like other Birkenstocks. Footbed offers the same superior support. I would not choose these for distance walking, however: despite the adjustable foot strap, they require a bit more "toe scrunch" effort to keep them on than other Birkenstocks, a little bit like a flip flop but not nearly as dramatic. Cute shoe and many compliments already. Supremely comfortable.

These are definitely sized smaller than listed. I wear a size 7 in regular shoes and a 7½ in my running shoes. My feet are typically on the wide side. However the 38 (for 7-7½) was way too big. The 37N fits perfectly. After I got the same size, I love them. They were super comfortable right out of the box for all day wear.
