This is one of the best hiking shoes I've ever owned, great traction, great comfort, great impact absorption, and so far after a few months of owning them, great durability. I hike pretty frequently over some nasty terrain, and this shoe has always come thru.

Quality shoe. The stitching and general construction are great. Add the Vibram sole and it's a winner. It didn't fit me right, however. I got too much heel slippage just walking around the house. I upgraded to the North Face Hedgehog with GTX and am much more satisfied.

My boyfriend loved these. He previously owned The North Face Betassos. We both really liked the gray and dark blue color scheme. Seems like all athletic/outdoor shoes these days have started using bright colors, and it is hard to find something understated. We ended up ordering a second pair, so that he has a back up when the first pair gets old. Regarding size, we ordered a size larger than his typical casual/dress shoe. But then I tend to do this for most sneakers/athletic shoes. He is extremely pleased with the comfort, fit and look of the shoe. You can wear these with jeans, shorts or cargo pants without the shoes screaming "look at me".

Excellent comfort and support. Traction is reliable and proved great in action when I used it for my trip to Sedona.

Here in Afghanistan sneakers don't last very long, these are the first pair of sneakers that I have purchased that can take a beating and still look and feel good. The vibram sole is exactly what this tough terrain was built for, moon dust style sand, rocks everywhere and harsh desert heat. This sneaker has made me a convert from Nike's trail running shoes.

Great running and hiking shoe. They generally last me at least eight months to a year; and that's daily wear; working out and often to work. I have to have arch support and these shoes do a great job and typically only lose that support in the last few months of service.

My hubby loves these shoes! We just returned from New Zealand where he wore them nearly every day. They have good cushion and good traction for trail hiking (and regular every day walking). It is hard to find a good fit for his size 13 foot, but these did the trick!

Lightweight, supportive, rugged and the design is killer. I actually prefer this shoe over my several pairs of Merrells. And I thought North Face only made packs, tents and outerwear. Will purchase again.

Super comfortable. Went hiking wearing those and they are very good. Non-slippery (there were some wet rocks), I was very impressed with their performance. Highly recommended, I am wearing them on daily basis and they are light (size 14) and very comfortable. So far they seemed to be great quality, they are actually better than expected.

Good quality shoes, the tread has suburb grip, and the shoe is comfortable. NOT waterproof though.

This is my 4th pair of TNF shoes...these have a little reflective tape on the top of the shoe which I don’t like. But other than that I like the way they look and feel, no break in period. I use them as walking around shoes, have not hiked or run in them but I walk to and from work (only 2 miles a day) but with the tread design they would grip trails easily. They also breathe well, don't need the GORE-TEX in San Diego.

Buy this shoe - This is my third different pair of NF shoes and they are the best all around shoes you can get. The Vibram sole is a nice addition to the line as it has increased the life of the product! Extremely comfortable and a great fit...order a 1/2 size up!

Great Buy - My first time buying shoes online and I am very pleased with the product. Great service too...I like the fact I ordered one day and received them the next.

Always nice to find a new favorite! Upside - not garish or strange looking, light weight, great fit, and a pleasure to run or walk trails in. Downside - lacks the wet surface traction and the sense of feeling like my feet are really 'protected' that I have with my similar Vasque shoes. Not as cushy or bulletproof in the really rough stuff. I like them so much I bought a second pair two weeks later.

Great casual/hiking shoe - Great shoe. They are a little tight and narrow for my big, wide feet, but still fit comfortably. Excellent construction. Feel great while hiking. The only complaint I have is some of the rubber tread "spikes" on the bottom of the shoe started to come off. They seem like aesthetic issues, though. I expect this shoe to hold up for quite a while. I don't run in these as they are kinda heavy and don't have the motion control I have with my Brooks Adrenaline GTS's. I recommend these for casual use or outdoor activities.

Great Shoes - I had been a long time Adidas fan, but when I bought my last pair of Adidas Trail Runners I was sorely disappointed. They had changed the fit of the whole shoe. In addition to the shoe not fitting like my previous ten or so pairs the sole separated in a short amount of time. I then started poking around and found these shoes. I put them on and wondered why I had been wearing Adidas all this time. These are my favorite shoes yet!

Awesome looking shoe - I bought these shoes to wear on a daily basis (with shorts, jeans, khakis) and I have already gotten compliments on them (which is a first for a pair of athletic shoes!) They were a little stiff when I first got them and nowhere near as comfortable as pure running shoes, but they have broken in nicely.

Great Shoe! I have found this shoe to be a great buy. It's light weight, yet very durable. It also looks great. I also think the shoe was true to size as I am an exact 11 1/2 and it fits perfectly. I highly recommend it!

Roomy in my size - Very comfortable fit. I wear a size 14 and some brands in that size are tight. Not these North Face shoes. They are a bit wider than normal, but overall, a real comfortable fit. Sole is somewhat firmer and gives a bit more support than a regular sneaker. The laces are really thin, I've yet to see if they keep a firm lace or slip and loosen while wearing.

Great shoe...Zappos is a great company! I loved the shoe. I have flat, narrow feet and they fit great. Probably the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. Ordered a different shoe and needed to send it back as it didn't fit. Zappos is a great company. I bought another pair for my son.

Very pleased - I am very pleased with my purchase of these trail runners. They are even lighter than they look and offer exceptional ventilation. Though I usually wear a wide width shoe, the prophecy in regular width is a perfect fit, with an ample toe box. Quality seems good for a synthetic shoe. I was initially hesitant to purchase a TNF product, but am more than satisfied. Will hope for a positive long term review. I would definitely purchase these again. Zappos service was excellent, as always.
