I usually wear a 12-13 size shoe. I bought these at size 12 and they were a little big before I put a sole insert. They run a little big. Good shoe though the sewing along the lace line wasn't done very well so I'm pulling out pieces of thread as I loosen and tighten the laces. Not a deal breaker but not as high quality as I had hoped for this amount of bucks.

Bought these for my son-in-law, his second pair (he wore the first pair out). He absolutely loves these shoes, the comfort and the way they look.

Back to the Future -
Canvas low and high top sneakers are in and this is a high fashion makeover of those classics. The washed leather is handsome, details are all just right except perhaps for the silly attempts to make the toe and edges look "dirty" (I can take care of that myself). Shoes are comfortable, true to size and better looking and less expensive than some of the other upscale reinventions of the high top sneaker.

From the moment they were first put on they felt like a well worn pair. Very comfortable.

These are great shoes, period. Comfortable, stylish, warm, good support. Totally worth it. A word of warning, though: they are leather high-tops, and they can be a challenge to put on and take off due to the unforgiving nature of the material and the fitted cut.

Very cool and unique sneakers. I'm addicted to Frye products, especially when purchased from Zappos.

Soft leather. Very comfortable. Easily broken in. Bummer it's not made in USA but very high quality, typical of Frye.

These shoes look great and wear in well just like a leather sneaker should. What I'd like to share however is that in my experience the outside rubber soul would fall off after a few months. Luckily Frye shoes come with a year-long warrantee, so I was able to obtain a new pair from a store nearby. Funny thing is that second pair had the same problem!! The store clerk was nice enough to offer a credit (even though I bought through Zappos, bless his or her heart) and I'm now going to try out the Frye Justin Hi-Tops (which feature a one-piece soul); otherwise I'd probably just try super-glue.
Maybe I demand too much from my shoes (festivals, lots of walking, etc), but as stylish as these were they just couldn't keep up over a year. But they are a great shoe if you aren't expecting to wear them to death!

Great shoe. Finish is nice. Design is eye catching and appealing. I love the vintage look. The only thing that would make it perfect is that if it was made in the USA. But what is these days?

Never got a chance to break these in; because the moment I laced up the left foot, one of the eyelets broke. I'm not spending 200 bones on faulty shoes. They looked great, though.

These look great and are comfortable, but the sole blows out within months. It separates from the rubber siding around the toe, and flops open like an alligator's mouth when you walk. This happened to my first pair of these shoes and I figured it was just a bad pair, ordered another because I liked them so much and the same exact thing happened. They look great and I'd gladly wear them as my only pair of sneakers, but this price for something that is constructed so cheaply is a joke.

I really liked these shoes a lot. Thought they were comfortable, allowed me to maintain good posture since they were flat with minimal support, and they really looked great with the dark distressed style.
Unfortunately, they were not constructed well. I returned the first pair and encountered the same problem on the second pair: they developed holes in the sole where the sidewall meets the sole on the outside toe bed area. Very disappointing.

I bought my first pair of Frye shoes about two years ago, which was the Justin midlace boot. They were great, although after about a year, I developed holes in the soles towards my back heel, presumably from the way I walk--these were priced less, and they are still built real well and hold up (exterior, interior of shoe), EXCEPT for the holes in the sole (I still wear these on occasion except for when it rains). The next pair I decided to grab were these, the Frye Greene midlace. They are the same price now as they were when I got them in October of 2014 (only eight months ago, roughly)--I thought, "well they definitely LOOK AWESOME (seriously, one good looking shoe), and are a bit pricier (maybe for more reliable construction), let me check them out." Well, they still LOOK AWESOME, and they FEEL GREAT (even with little arch support, the type of leather just feels comfy). However, the construction is TOTAL GARBAGE. The shoes held up well for a few months, and I understand expensive shoes like this shouldn't be worn all the time and need care to last, but if they cannot even handle basic walking, then what is the point of labeling this crap a "shoe." Within four months of wear, I noticed my feet were getting wet when it would drizzle outside, and this time not from the back of the sole like with the Justins. THE SOLE BEGAN TO SEPARATE ON THE SIDES, CLEARLY A MANUFACTURER'S PROBLEM AND NOT THE CUSTOMER'S! I realized there was barely any glue holding the sole to the sides and eventually the sole separated enough that I could see how thin the sole actually was-- LITERALLY A FIFTH OF AN INCH THICK! $180 FOR THE CHEAPEST SHOE I HAVE EVER WORN. I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED THAT I TRIED GETTING MY MONEY BACK, to no success of course. At this point, any shoe that costs over $100 that is made in some foreign country---STEER CLEAR. Save your money and get a less "hip" brand for better construction. For boots try Colombia. Even my nikes, which I do not wear for style, have lasted 8 years of consistent exercise, rain, grass, etc. I am an honest reviewer. I love Frye's style, certainly. I think their shoes, especially the Greene, are the coolest shoes I have ever seen. It is a shame that the construction cannot live up to Frye's self-proclaimed greatness....
