I usually wear an 8.5/9 so ordered a 9, but they were way too big. My big toe does not even reach the base of the toe cap. These do not feel like they have the structure for heavy duty use, just walking around. Wish that Zappos had a way to choose a shoe by the type of use you wish, rather than just by name of style.

If you have narrow feet, read this review. I have narrow feet and have a very difficult time finding sandals, in particular. In the past, I had tried on Keen sandals and they were entirely too wide for me, felt like "Side Show Bob" shoes from The Simpsons cartoon. An employee at a store recommended the Keen Whisper, she said that it was much more narrow than other sandal designs in Keen's past. I tried on the Whisper and the Clearwater design. The Clearwater is the sandal for anyone that has a narrow, thin and hard to fit foot, but I liked the Whisper so much, it looks almost "Greek" style. My husband thinks they look cool too. The store didn't have my size, so I ordered them on Zappos. There is a fall color selection for Keen Whisper; I chose the Brindle/Regal Orchid Keen Whispers in an 8.5. The Brindle color is a stony-tan color, and the Regal Orchid gives it a slight lavender color-pop without being obnoxious. Keen typically runs 1/2 size too small; I used to wear an 8 and sometimes 8.5, but the size 9 Keen footbed fit slightly better. But my foot is so thin and narrow, the size 9 couldn't pull tight enough around my ankle. There is a design flaw in the pull string lacing and the position of the lacing-loops at the ankles, it doesn't feed through the tongue-loop at the top. My husband pointed this out, and so we fed the pull string lacing through the tongue-loop and then the ankle lacing-loops, it solved some "fitting" problems around the top of my foot and ankle, looked better too. My foot fits very snugly in the 8.5, and I pull the lacing string until the ankle lacing-loops are almost touching. I had to get used to the physical harshness of the design of the top of the sandals on the tops of my feet, and they buckle ever-so-slightly at the top because I have to pull them so tight for my narrow foot. I have not experienced any blistering or soreness from these sandals. Very comfortable footbed. Moderate arch support. If I had "normal" width feet, I would have chosen the size 9, and I would be saying these were the best sandals, ever. I must have bought and returned 8 pairs of sandals a couple of years ago, and still ended up sandal-less; hope this helps.

I have 4 pairs of Keen Venice - yep, I'm a fervent follower. I decide to try the Whisper - something different and they looked airier, and airflow is supremely important in Texas. They came, I loved 'em...but when on a hill I slide out of the back of them. They are in no way as stable as the Venice. I have balance problems, so this was a big negative. I emailed Zappos. Whispers go back and I'll spend the money on another pair of my old stanbys, Keen Venice. Zappos is awesome - they actually walk their talk. Customer is queen. I want to and will tell everyone to buy here. They will make you glad you did.

This is a very sexy sandal! Get tons of compliments on their looks. I will tell you that there is not much arch support in these like there is in the shoe line. And since you wear these with bare feet, it's not like you can slip an insert in. I can't walk in them all day, but I do like them. Construction is good, and I think they will last many years!

These stay on well and are perfect for their purpose. Look nice. I know some people can wear them all day, but I don't find these comfortable enough to do that.

I bought these shoes for walking on rocky New England beaches and they are great. I recommend buying your true size. I followed the comments here and ordered a half size up originally. While the shoes felt ok in the house, when I put them to work on the beach they were too loose and my heel kept sliding back over the edge. I ended up with the orange in a size 8 and I love them.

They aren't pretty but I'm not the kind of girl to wear these around for fashion. I'm a professional gardener and they work great for that. Comfortable but I often feel like my feet are hotter than when I wear my oxfords. I know, weird, since it's a sandal for goodness sake. Aside from that, I can hose off my feet and they seem to dry in a instant. Will keep them in the arsenal for those hot muddy days.

Very disappointed in this sandal. Yes, it ran small. I ordered up like most said and it was still snug. Afraid it wouldn't stretch. I was also wondering about the sandal because the right toe part came up more on that foot and made that foot tighter and it also clicked on the heel when I walked. For the money I was not impressed. It seemed like a warm shoe even though it is a sandal. Going to write the company about that problem because it could even be seen when looking at the sandal out of the box.

Great comfort shoe. Didn't need any breaking in. Can be worn barefoot or with socks. Only complaint is after lots of walking in warm weather my foot gets hot. Probably due to rubber and enclosed toe.

These are great for running errands in the rain or skipping through mud puddles and streams with the kids. Plus they look cute with shorts, jeans or skirts!

I ordered these based on the positive reviews. They are comfortable, fit well but are very HOT. Previously I wore the Venice H2 which is cooler on your feet. Since I live in the desert and travel to the tropics I find this issue important. So now I just wear them in the winter here...

Many reviews say Keens run small, but the size 9s I ordered, 1/2 size larger than normal, were much too long, so for me at least, these run true to size. Very soft and comfortable, and the fit is very secure (no slipping around). Next time I would order the Keen H2O specifically for water though. I'm frequently walking my dogs through wet grass, etc., and these don't dry particularly fast. Also, they are a bit hot.

As suggested by many, I bought 1/2 size larger. The shoe fits well but is slightly long in the toe (feels more like 1/4 size up). These shoes are a little warm and not as cute as Merrells (couldn't find a pair to fit) but are great for my daily 5 mile walks.

A lot of the reviews I read of these said to order a half size larger, because they run small. I normally wear a 9 so I ordered a 9 1/2. They felt okay at first but after wearing them a couple of times I'm super bummed because they are too big.

These shoes were fine except the photo of the Barberry color shows the shoes as red, when in fact they are a vivid hot pink. I was disappointed, but decided not to return them.

I'm a size 8 in all types of shoes, and bought the Greenbriar color in 8. My feet are swimming in them a bit. There's about 3/4 inch of space in front of my toes. The ankle strap doesn't hug my feet at all, I have to cinch the bungee and then wrap it under itself, to make them feel secure. Love the color, I'd definitely try getting 1/2 size, or even 1 full size smaller in the future.

I bought these for a vacation trip. They were comfortable, went from street to beach and into the water. The toe cap was great protection on cobblestone streets and rocky beaches. Love the purple accents!

They are okay, comfortable enough to walk around for a period of time. Only complaint is that they seem a bit tight on top and my foot does not slide all the way, my heel is still hanging (and I have tried different sizes), but not horribly so. But I do have very high instep and have run into this problem with numerous shoes.

These were so cute, but I am returning them because they were too hard to get on and too tight for my swollen feet. I thought that the top could be loosened, but it only allows a small adjustment and I could not get them on at all.

I really liked these shoes a lot, with the exception that they are a bit narrow. I read the reviews and ordered a half size larger than what I usually wear. They are comfortable when I put them on, but after a while the pressure at the widest part of my foot is uncomfortable. I would have returned them for a different style, but I wore them for a while. Otherwise, the design and colors are great. I think they would best fit someone with narrow feet.

These shoes are very comfortable; they give good support, especially when I need to walk a lot. As good as my walking shoes and much cooler. And they're cute. I like the colors.

Looking for a shoe for boating and jetskiing and this shoe works fine but gave it a lower rating because the soles can be slippery on certain surfaces when it or the shoe is wet. Stepped on the aluminum frame around the outside of a pontoon boat floor and my foot slipped off the edge of the boat. Haven't found out yet what other surfaces they have gripping issues with. Otherwise, they're very comfortable even when wet and your feet seem to stay cooler with the open construction. The footbed is very cushioned and I find I'm wearing them more and more as a casual everyday shoe. Easy to put on and take off, fit adjustment is easy and they're quick drying.

Bought these to replace my Keen sandals that are 8 years old. I have several other pairs of Keens. This model looks good, but it is more narrow than the others, and the straps are somewhat scratchy.

I have been on the hunt for sandals that would take me though airports and European cities comfortably. Zappos has been the place to shop for all of the variety and have been patiently sending me styles to try. I thought last year's Ahnu would work but the footbed is not as supportive as I like in the arch. I have plantar issues on and off, wear 7.5M shoes typically, and have narrow heels, lower volume feet, and need a wider toe box. I walk and am my feet a lot! I use custom orthotics about 50% of the time. Keens seem to have one of the nicest footbeds around and have been concentrating on that brand now. Unfortunately, the one that is the best for my needs is the Newport style but it does not have enough ventilation. While the Whisper anatomically fits by "female" foot as advertised, it does not have enough arch support, has less support around the heel, and does not cover my little toe well (keeps slipping out); it has a bit more ventilation though. Like most Keens, I order a half size up and that seems fine. Have ordered a couple of Keens slide versions and their leather lined Sarasota style. Will see if either gets me around the "hot" foot issue (feels sweaty but really is not sweating) and has enough support. Now, to find a version of Keen that suits all of these needs...sigh...can't praise Zappos enough though!

I think these sandals run a little long compared to other Keen shoes. I have three pairs of non-sandal Keens and all of them are a 9.5, but these are definitely half a size too big for me. (In fact, I would guess that they felt as big as the size 10 Keen Sarasota sandal that I tried as well.) I was actually disappointed with these because I really wanted to like them. They have the great strap support system in the heel that I love so much in my light hiking shoes, so they seem like they should have good ankle support (for a sandal). That said, they definitely run hot - I only wore it for a couple of minutes, long enough to determine what, exactly, the problem was with them, but my foot started getting very warm and began to sweat even within that time, so if that is a concern for you, these might not be the sandals for you.
