I don't like the toe guard. I do like the toe in regular Keen sandals, like the Newport H2. However, for flip-flops, it just isn't comfortable, and then it makes the rest of my toes climb up over the top of it as it really only protects the big toe.
I just don't agree with the other reviewers on this product. If you like it fine, but this is my experience, and I returned them.

This shoe/sandal has an extremely comfortable sole. Nice and soft and good arch support. Two things that bother me: 1) the toe cover covers my big toe well, but my other toes have a tendency to want to wiggle out from under the toe cover. I wish that the toe cover/protection was curved more to cover the rest of my toes. 2) I have 4 other pair of Keen shoes: Targhee, Austin, Newport, and my favorite, the Richmond. They are all in size 10, but the size 10 Waimea was way too big and I downsized to a size 9.

Ouch. Try these first, don't order them. I love Keens and wanted a flip flop. I thought these looked great but when I got them to my dismay my 3rd and 4th toes kept popping out of the toe protector and catching. Tried, different sizes, nothing. Other than that I suspect they'd be great but they just didn't work for my feet.

The straps are made of recycled inner tube rubber. Even after washing and multiple wearings, you cannot get rid of the rubber smell. This should be noted in your information and Keen should know better than to use this material for this application. This is not what I call eco-friendly. These sandals will probably get pitched.

The design for this shoe was a great idea...but when actually realized this isn't a very comfortable shoe. The length between the toe thong and the toe guard didn't fit my toes well, as well as the height of the toe guard didn't really fit the shape of my toes. When wearing these shoes I feel like my big toe is being stepped on...just very uncomfortable. I was surprised because the other Keen shoes I have (Newport H2 and Venice H2) are super comfortable.

My favorite footwear of all time!!! I am on my last pair. I had 5 new pairs as backup and have used them all. I literally wore them every single day, day and night, and they wore out!!! Now I can't find them anywhere and am horribly disappointed.

I bought these as a second pair, for when the first die.
They are great since they protect your big toes and the extra covers keeps them in place on your feet. Not sure why Keen discontinued the Waimea H2. Hopefully they bring back a newer version. If not, I got my second backup pair I will put into service. :)

These are my shoes whenever the temperature allows. They are the most comfortable foot covering I have so I keep a couple in reserve in case they become scarce. The Waimea H2 has saved my toes so many times I would never wear open toe sandals again. I usually wear a Keen size 13 however the Waimea size 12 is perfect for my feet.

Love these! Had to purchase them again after the first pair I had broke, they were a gift, used but a gift. They lasted 10 years! I’m hoping I get the same use out of these. I love them and it’s pretty much all I wear in the summer.

I love Keen flip flop sandals. Wear them all the time, they fit true to size, have great support and the toe protector has helped many times. They are great walking, at the beach and for every day use.

these sandals are great. I am always bumping my toes against various objects (table legs, chair legs, door jams, doors...) The protection these provide is wonderful. They are also comfortable for long walks. We also live by the beach and these are fine for walking among tide pools. Highly recommend!
