I bought these a week ago on sale here and they just came delivered (12/13/12) with free shipping. I was really hesitant about ordering these (or any shoe for that matter) online. The last and only shoe I ever ordered online was my old pair of snow hikers from LL Bean that lasted several years. And they were a little clunky and heavy. This last year, I had to discard them after winter because they lost their traction. So I needed new snow boots, especially to be prepared in case of another bad blizzard in the Seattle area like we had last year. So with that, I searched high and low online. I like that Zappos has the videos with all the photos of the shoes offered. It helps. Now, here is my predicament...I have Plantar Fasciitis and Tendonitis in the toe area in my left foot (a double whammy!) and my regular mens size is a 10 wide. Since my left foot is slightly swollen every day and averaging a thick sock for the cold, I ordered up a full size to 11. And most snow boots nowadays don't come in wide sizes anymore. When I put on the medium thick sock, the size 11 was perfect. I was a little nervous at first since the ankle area seemed a little narrow and snug, but after breaking them in for a half hour, they have loosened up. Even my wide foot in the D-medium size still allows descent room. And my troubled left foot has the best comfort ever...even with the help of the integrated arch support, which is a plus! After walking around in the house, these boots are really lightweight even though they look heavy and monstrous. A couple of reasons I bought these is because I wanted a snow boot that slipped on and off quickly without laces. The snap buckles on these are strong and sturdy. I also wanted a waterproof boot that also covered my calf to protect my pants. The boot liner is soft and comfy and I was able to tuck my denim jeans into the liner. I even tucked the denim over the liner, too, still protected by the outer shell and still had a comfortable fit around my calf. Now, I hope it snows in the next few weeks or months so I can put these bad boys to the test! I'm glad I bought these, especially through Zappos because they were on sale with free shipping. There are other sites, too, offering these same boots for more with no free shipping. So Zappos is the place for a good deal! Overall, my advice to other guys is to purchase one size up, even with a wide foot. Happy Holidays!

Writing it for my boyfriend, he ordered a couple of other boots with the laces on the bottom as well, and he loved these. They are definitely big, but fit snug and are great, especially for a guy like him who is lazy with laces. Their purpose is dog walking at 6 am and snow shoveling, these should be great. Said they are super comfy too, and he loves the pull at the top. But great for putting over jeans, or any pant.

I was looking for a warm, comfortable boot with no laces. Laces get wet, take time to tie and are a general pain.
I ordered a size equal to my regular shoe size. Was a bit too small, but thanks to how easy Zappos makes it to return things I received the next size up 2 days later. All good.
It is a pretty tall boot in terms of how high up it goes on your leg, so know that if you are less than 6 feet tall.
Very happy overall. Super warm and comfortable.

Got these boots for Christmas 2014. Last few days have been in the single digits with wind chills near minus 20° F. I wear these boots every day to walk the dogs, shovel/snow blow the driveway, etc. These are the best snow boots I have ever owned. My feet have never been cold in these boots. They are easy on/off and comfortable. They look large but are lightweight. I wear size 9 1/2 wide running shoe. The size 10 boot was too tight but the size 11 fits perfect. I have always experienced great service from Zappos.

Outdoorsman's must have!
Toasty, practical comfort with room to expand around calf. Accommodates varying thickness in clothes well.

I was doubtful about these boots. They look too big and clunky, but I decided to go ahead since they got good marks overall. Wow! They're great! The biggest plus is they act like loafers -- that is, I can slip them on and off with messing with the buckles (just leave them fastened) and no 'strings' to tie or battle with. They come off easily (but not too easily). They fit snugly but not tight. They don't rub anywhere inside against my foot/ankle/calf, indeed it's unlikely because of the foam insert -- it's soft but not too soft. The soles have aggressive tracks.
We just had 2 snowstorms back to back and so I was out running the snowblower and shoveling for hours. These brand new boots worked perfectly. I'm thrilled and I don't 'thrill' easily.
Baffin Wolf boots -- highly recommended.

I purchased these boots in 2013 for college in upstate New York and have been quite pleased with them since then. They have an inner insulation layer that can be removed, which is great in case they get wet inside, and have plenty of straps and pulls to tighten them enough in the right places. They're very waterproof, and go on/come off very easily. They also provide plenty of traction on icy pathways. A few times, I even walked through snow up to my waist after tucking in my pants well and snow never even made it inside! I have received a number of comments about how big they are, so beware of that, but I think they're great! As for durability, they're pretty solid - I wore them for three full winters walking about 10-15 miles a week and only now have they started to wear out. Now, the inside padding layer has started to wear out. The outer parts of the boot are still in great condition though!

I bought these thinking they were the same model that my son has. I used his to snow blow during our most recent snowstorm when we received 36". I normally wouldn't buy boots like that for myself because I'm a farmer that's content with holes in my boots and freezing wet feet. I will do that no longer. I decided that the kid's boots were the Baffin Eiger and if I had to do it again I would spend the extra money and buy the Eiger but that's no knock against the Wolf. I've used them under pretty hard work loads so far, splitting a couple chord of wood with a maul etc, and they seem to be up to the task. I have yet to test them in sub zero or even single digits because I haven't had the opportunity yet but I'm sure they'll keep me much happier than my old holy mucks. There really is a tremendous difference in the quality of boot you get for the money and I never believed that before. They truly are warm and feel like your foot is surrounded by a nice pillow. The Eiger has more support. I would say too much support because they feel more like a snowboard boot than a daily use boot. If you don't want that support the Wolf should work. Fit wise they seem to be pretty good but I generally have a hard time buying shoes because I always buy them too small thus the holy boots. These I bought in a 13 and my shoe scales a 13 wide. They fit nicely. The delivery came a day early and that was 2 days before Christmas so well done by both Zappos and UPS. I will definitely buy from Zappos many more times and from now on when its cold and snowing you'll only see Baffin on me.

These boots were great for our ski vacation in NC. The boots kept my husbands feet warm and dry at all times through many different activities. Some of our friends even borrowed these when their boots didn't hold up. They are easy to put on and adjust, always comfortable. We bought these a size larger to compensate for thick socks, but probably should have gotten them closer to true size. All in all these are a great boot that will last many seasons.
