The waist sizing is trickyI usually wear a 30-31 pant, but had to order a 33" waist 32" still too tight) with Dickies to properly fit.

I've been wearing this style of short for 10 years now, many of them I have worn hundreds of times. I work as a mechanic/fabricator for a race team, so I beat on them pretty good in the shop and in the usually unpaved pit areas of the race tracks I go to. I plan on getting more in the next year or so as I'm finally beginning to wear out the batch I bought online 4 years ago.
