ATTENTION DICKIES! offer this exact same pant but tapered from the knee down so the opening at the bottom is about 1" narrower (make that 9" opening an 8" opening, measured across a flattened pants), and it would be a hit... in other words, update it for today's style. And DO NOT lower the waist or make it slim fit at the butt/thigh areas, you don't need to, it's already a great fit there. Keep it EXACTLY the same, just narrow the bottom of the leg a bit so it's hip!

I love the product, but I find they shrink awfully easy. I was in cold and place in the dryer on low heat and they still manage to shrink... So buy bigger than your normal size.

I love these pants, they feel great when I wear them, I love the style, they are perfect for skateboarding. Have some troubles with the pockets ripping though

The Original 874 work pants have been apart of our lawn care and landscape business uniforms for 3 years now. They are comfortable, yet still have a professional look. The 874 work pants have held up longer than any jeans I have worn in the past. Good investment.

The pants are great but if you get on a creeper stuff falls out of your pocket. Make pockets deeper

I have worn Dickies clothing for many years. I like the way they fit and I especially like the way they resist stains. If I could change just one thing about the 874's, I would replace the hook fasteners on the waist with a button. Otherwise, Dickies have great products!

I'm a veterinarian who works with dairy cattle, and I've been wearing this style pants for work daily since 1979. Sometime in the late 80's or early 90's the pockets got a little smaller and the "easy alter" waistband was discontinued, and I still miss it. I am a woman, and I need to take in the center back seam to taper the waist to fit my body shape. Overall, however, these are still the best pants I've found for daily wear under my coveralls. Perhaps you are wondering why I don't buy women's work clothes. Quite simply, they are inferior, in terms of fit, functional design, durability, and value for the dollar. I am not difficult to fit (typically size 10 or 10 medium tall pants for regular street clothes) but have a terrible time with women's work clothes. I have tried numerous brands to no avail. The lighter weight fabrics often used and the shallow pockets are particularly annoying--often you can't even get your hand completely inside the pockets! Then there are the issues with coveralls.....REAL twill coveralls sized to be worn over clothes, with pass-through slots as well as pockets (so you can use your pants pockets, too), not just flimsy jumpsuits to be worn instead of clothes.....they just don't exist in a fully functional women's version. Every 6 or 7 years I order some women's workwear just to try it again, to see if anything has changed. This year was one of those years, which is why I am speaking out. Evidently, there have not been any substantial improvements. I'm returning the women's work pants and sticking with my 874s. In another 6-7 years, I may be retired.

Bought these to work in court and they are ok! I would make a few changes though! I would make the same design out of rip stop material and add an extendable waist! I like how there are no pockets on the legs!

I bought these so i have something classy to wear to school and go directly to work after with. Id do catering so i need the stains to wash out easily. After 3 washes i can say that black and khaki colors don't fade a bit and come clean every time. The crease is easily maintained with a 20 second iron job. they sit high on the waist and rum pretty small in the waist. i usually wear a 30 but order these in a 32 and there very tight. I should have ordered a 33 or 34. really comfortable and even break the wind well. ill order more if these ever wear out.

I bought a couple pairs of 874's a few weeks ago and when I opened the box, the Lincoln Green pants had a small hole in each of the pant legs. I felt it too much a hassle to send them back so I ordered a couple more pairs, another Lincoln Green because I like the color. A better QA check should be done before your product is shipped. Thanks.

I have given up on blue jeans for casual wear. I have tried most of the major manufacturers and have been unable to find any that fit me properly and that would stay on my waist. Many years ago, I used to wear work pants so I decided to try yours. I have worn them on and off for about a week now and I have very pleased. They fit comfortably, stay at or near my waist, and provide a good appearance. The twill fabric is a little stiff, but I'm confident it will soften with repeated wearing and washing.

Been wearing them for work for years. Durable work pants. Sizes sometimes run inconsistent. Order 10 pair for work 1-2 pair are usually smaller in the waist than the others. Not bad but I would guess about an inch difference.

Pants are comfortable and wear well. With the heavier material they hold up great on construction sites. The only downside I have with them are that the front pockets seem small.

Based upon other reviews, I bought pants in one size up for my son who
is 6 feet tall and thin. That was a mistake because the waist and hip were huge on the 31x34 and the length runs short. So I returned those and ordered the 30x37 unhemmed pants which fit great based upon his actual waist measurements and took the pants to a tailor to have them custom hemmed. He likes the pants! Also it is great that they sit at his actual waist- not easy to find these days! The quality is great and the pants will be great for his work and if he wants to wear them with a sport or dress shirt for going out. He wore them to work already and was comfortable. I had to order online because the pants at the department stores are not long enough if you have a small waist.
