I initially purchased this in a size MED, but it was too snug. I exchanged it for a LG and its just a teensy bit too roomy. The extra room is great for avoiding "hat hair" though. Right out of the box, I though the brim appeared super short, but once I put it on, it looked cute and feminine. I would recommend this product.

Love this hat! I am not a hat person at all; none of them really look good on me and I even feel weird wearing winter hats because that's how awkward I feel. The Goorin Brother's Private hat is fantastic though! Sleek, slim, stylish, and just plain constructed well.

Most excellent and comfortable cap! I have an XL head and it fits nicely. I use it for jogging.

Love the hat! I bought it after I bought the green hat first. It is stylish and goes with everything. If you buy this hat you won't be disappointed. And Zappos quick as ever delivery is warp speed quick! Got to love Zappos...I know I do?

Nice cap! Size is spot-on, good quality materials and construction. If you're looking for a military-inspired cap, this is a great one.

I purchased this hat for my husband and he wears it all the time. It has held up well (kept it's shape), and keeps his head warm, despite the exposed ears. He looks super cute in it as well! :)

I bought one of these for my birthday and have worn it daily since (I do not leave my house without a hat). It is a great hat, that is very distinctive but subtle at the same time. It has been soaked with sweat, sun burnt to a reddish tint (still black) dragged in the mud and covered in grease. This kind of craftsmanship is no "one round usage." I am still as happy with it as I am the day that I bought it, by the way that purchase was two years ago. Honestly I am buying another to have a better looking hat for social occasions.

Goorin Bros. makes the best hats period! The quality is top notch as is the fit. The private is one of my favorite hats! From morning coffee runs to a day out at the beach, this hat is never out of place.

I love this hat! I'm out in the sun all day long, and this hat is great to keep the sun off of my face and protect my head. It's not hot at all. I wish it came in different colors, other than blah beige, brown and blue. The navy blue is great, but I'd like something more colorful, too. Oh, and it's not getting sun bleached either. It's holding up super.

I really like the style, but the fit is just a bit too tight. When I sized up to the extra large, however it was entirely too big. I received many compliments on the hat since I got it last year.

These hats are awesome. I did not realize that it was a men's hat but that does not matter. The only reason it gets four out of five is because I wish it was blacker.

I am happy with this cap. I gave it 4s because very few things deserve 5s. I wear a 7-3/8 hat, and this cap in large fits fine without any room to spare. XL would be too big, but if this one shrinks it will be tight.

This hat is Awsome! Just what I've been looking for. You should measure your head before ordering, I had to send back twice before I got it right!

Pretty nice cap. Size seems to run on the small size so take that into account when purchasing.

I have a small head and the size small was too big. Overall I didn't care for the shape of the hat and wish it was adjustable. I will be returning it (because Zappos makes so easy) and keeping the Northface Logo Military Hat instead.

Comfy enough, but sadly cuter in your hand than on your head. Stops above the ears in an awkward sort of way; fits a bit better if you let it sit high on your head, but then it turns into a train conductor's hat. I'd recommend trying this one on in person before committing to it.

I bought a cadet style cap and was very pleased with the workmanship, materials durability, and overall impression of quality. Hoping to replace it with one same features and quality I ordered a private a little less expensive but disappointingly lacking in aforementioned characteristics of my previous purchase This is honest feedback I believe Zappos service is second to none and products change for one reason or another unfortunately.

The hat was "Imperfect", and noticeably defective. I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it, and run the risk of a replacement also having imperfections as well. So I will just chalk it up to experience, and write this review.

Sizing has become inconsistent. Ordered a medium 7 1/8 was way too big, replaced it with one that was too small (same size) I’ll give it one more shot b/c I love these hats. I’ve had around 10 in various colors. They’ve all been dead on size wise.
