This is a great belt. As a fan of Johnston & Murphy for years they have yet to let me down. The belt is true to size and while the color is a bit lighter than the picture it still works well.

I needed a nice, dark brown belt, and this fits the bill. I had been wearing 36 waist pants, but dropped close to 20 lbs, and recent pants purchases have been 34 waist. I read a lot of reviews that said the belts ran small, so get the next size up, and I ordered a 36. I couldn't even get to the first hole on the belt! I logged in to Zappos, set up an exchange, and just barely over 12 hours later, I had the 38 belt in hand, and it fits fine. So go figure with the sizing, but Zappos service is awesome! My wife and I have been fans for years, and each time we order we're reminded why!

This dress belt is a very classy, simply designed, well constructed dress belt that perfectly matched my expectations and is well worth the relatively modest price. I highly recommend this produce.

Perfect fit and looks great - will be purchasing a second belt in a different colour. Only minor criticism is that the end of the belt sticks out marginally too much 2cm (1/2 - 1") further than I'd prefer. Not enough to lose a star though.

I love this clean classic intelligent style dress belt, which goes well with all dress and casual styles. The quality and construction is self explanatory. Nowdays it is hard to find a good belt like this in many shops and top department stores. This belt has a nice mid weight, firm, pliable, nice luster, nicely stitched together, using premium grade leather. Zappos is about the only online website to carry top quality merchandise of this caliber, along with their swift shipping service.

The bad: A few of these reviews suggest the belt runs small and packaging of the belt may run small. I purchased a 32 and it was far too small and the original packaging was something left to be desired. The box was intact, but inside, the belt was coiled like a slinky and had multiple creases in the later from the poor packing of the item (they tied a piece of tape around the middle of the belt). Completely unwearable and truthfully, unacceptable. The great, not just good: It's hard to find a company with customer service or making things right, quite like Zappos. I called their 800 number and waited less than a minute to talk to someone. I was greeted with a very personable and helpful person. I was sent a replacement belt at no cost, with next day shipping. I provided feedback about the bad and she reviewed the comments, while I was on the phone, and agreed and advised she was going to pass that information along. I had the order confirmation within a few minutes after disconnecting. The belt arrived less than a day later and they properly sent the belt, which fits a size up and is worth spending the money on, now. Bit of a hiccup, but Zappos made it right and I'm confident they will heed the feedback and make the required changes going forward.

The belt has more of a shiny finish than is portrayed in the pictures. I was expecting more of a soft, matte leather but the belt will do. After only a few weeks, the belt is already showing signs of wear. Given the price, this is very disappointing.

The belt looks great and it is comfortable but it is not dark brown leather. It is leather with a dark brown coating on the outside and the coating chipped off on my first time wearing it. I would not recommend buying this belt for that reason.

A size 36 pant is loose on me. This size 36 belt won't even reach the first notch. Have to return. Waste of time.

I ordered two brown belts in 34 and you sent two 42's

The dark brown belt clearly has ridges/bubbling all over the belt - the color was not applied appropriately. I sent the original belt back, hoping it was a one-off, but the replacement also had the same defect, which I will be sending back. The defect is apparent on the first pic for the product. The cognac belt does not have this defect, though.

This was a pretty standard belt, and had it not been for how it was packaged, I would have given it a 4 or 5 for the "overall" category. However, the problem was that it arrived all folded up with a big band of tape cinching it together in the middle. The result was that when I removed the tape, got the belt out of its plastic sleeve, and straightened it out, it had noticeable wrinkles at each spot where it had been folded over itself (under normal use, it did not seem that wrinkles would appear elsewhere on the belt, so these would likely continue to stick out). The belt was also inclined to stay bent at those spots, meaning that you'll need to do more bending back and forth (and likely make more wrinkles) in order to get those spots to flatten out. The other two belts I received in the same order were just coiled up in a circle and did not have these problems. Thus, beware that unless Johnston & Murphy's Chinese manufacturer begins packaging these differently, you will likely be disappointed with this belt.
