This shoes does have a hard toe box as some other have noted. I use thicker socks when dancing in these shoes, so my toes don't blister. I use them for ballroom dancing, once a week for 1-1.5 hour practice. They're flexible and comfortable, very steady. Good practice shoes.

I\'ve had the shoes a couple weeks and I love them. My feet used to ache after only 2 hours of rehearsal but not when I\'m wearing these shoes. They\'re very comfortable and have excellent support.

Bloch Practice Shoe - A Wise Purchase - I purchased these shoes for a Latin Dance workout class. I started the class trying to use leather shoes I had in my closet. After 2 classes I ordered 2 different types of dance shoes, a pair of Capezio Latin dance sandals, and the Bloch Practice Shoe. I was going to keep whichever pair fit. I am SO glad that the Capezio's did not fit. This shoe was comfortable from the first try and the first step. I found that I could not do any of the turns in my ordinary shoes. The sueded bottoms make turns easier. They are the perfect height and they are light weight and flexible. My feet are happy while trying to do all those Latin dance steps. They fit perfectly and they are not hot. I thought they were unattractive when I viewed them on line. But they actually look nice on my foot. While dancing in class every one sounds like they are wearing 'Claude Hoppers', but I am quietly cha cha cha-ing! These shoes have proven themselves - they are comfortable, high quality and a good price. After 8 classes I can definitely say they were a wise purchase!

Great theater shoe - This shoe works well in the theatrical use for which I purchased it. It looks like a 1930's women's utilitarian oxford, but is comfortable and not falling apart, as a vintage shoe would be by now! The actress who is wearing it says that it fits well and is very comfortable. Bloch dance shoes are nice in that they have a wider toe area than Capezio and other dance shoes.

A great buy. These shoes are great. Having had three operations on both feet I needed a comfortable shoe. This is it! My husband and I are Ballroom dancers so comfort is a must. I could dance in them immediately as they were a perfect fit and excellent quality. I have recommended them to other dancers.

Bloch's are Great! These shoes are VERY comfortable and seem run a little larger than my Capezio character shoe in the same size. I find that I can wear socks with them instead of pantyhose. I will order my next Bloch shoe half a size larger than my street shoe, instead of a full size larger. The width was true to size. I need a narrow width and these shoes are medium width only. Delivery was extremely efficient and convenient. Thank you for a great product and an easy shopping experience.

More than a practice shoe - These shoes are really comfortable. The side gusset is better than a standard oxford-style for toe pointing and flexibility. I wear these shoes for Carolina Shag, and they are stylish enough to wear with slacks out dancing on a Saturday night. No more sore feet at the end of the night. I would love to see them offered in dark brown.

Practice shoe - Very comfortaable practice shoe. I am an older lady taking ballroom dancing for fun and the shoe was a great find for me.

Very comfortable! I participate in Renaissance events in Elizabethan costume, and have been looking for a shoe that wouldn't break my budget, but looked as period as possible. These fit the bill. They are very close to extant examples of footwear for the time. They are quite comfortable to stand and walk in on outdoor and indoor surfaces for an entire day.

Run narrow - My foot has become wider as I've aged. I have difficulty finding comfortable shoes. These are a little too narrow, but I they have been ok for dancing. They are also a little bit higher at the back at the heel, and rubbed at first.

Great Comfort...Priced just right! I purchased this shoe for my mom, she's 72 yrs old, and she still teaches and dances ballroom 6 days a week. She is petite and has tiny feet at size 4-1/2 on open toe shoes, and size 5 on closed toe shoes. With sport socks, she said this shoe fits perfectly. The side elastics give more flexibility. The heels are wide but not overwhelming. The support and balance is great. It's a good practice and teaching shoe. I think I will purchase one for me. ;-) My old ones are worn out...it's time!
I'd also recommend:
Capezio dance sneakers.

Great value for dance practice shoes - These shoes have expandable sides that allow you to really point your toe while doing ballroom dancing. The heel gives great stability, and the shoes are very lightweight. Fit is exactly right for the size ordered.

When I went to purchase this shoe they were out of my size, which is a 7.5. So I purchased an 8 with hopes of it not being too big, due to the shoe being made of a soft leather. I was very happy with the fact that they fit perfect with a pair of cotton sports socks.

Great quality shoe. Very comfortable, I bought half size larger than regular shoe. I especially like the darker tan color, however a darker brown would have been better for my needs. I can't say that I notice ventilation from the perforations though. My feet still get hot.

Serviceable practice shoe well worth the price - I have difficult to fit feet - wide at the toe and narrow at the heel, and these shoes fit me very well. The leather is soft and comfortable yet they give enough support. They are not much to look at, and I wish there was a better color selection, but I am pleased with them.

I have horrible feet to fit. I had the luck of inheriting my father’s family’s feet which include both flat, wide feet and bunions (yay!) As you can imagine then, finding well fitting shoes which are comfortable are almost impossible for me. These shoes are great, they are roomy and fit well. I didn't have to get a half size bigger like I usually have to, and I can wear them all day with no pain. I got the regular size and they're even wide enough for my feet without pinching my bunion. I would definitely buy these shoes again.

I bought these shoes because of the reviews but the first time out wearing them for dance practice; I found them to be heavy and clumsy. I wore them for a two hour dance practice and am not sure that I can return them but I would because they gave me blisters and were not what I expected.

Too stiff - These shoes are very well made and look nice. They are just too stiff in the sole.

Don't buy this shoe. The toe box doesn't stretch but the rest of the shoe does, thus toes hit it and blister. Socks or no socks just painful. Wore for one hour and three blisters on each foot. It was like wearing steel toed shoes.

I cannot recommend these shoes - At first I was very pleased with these shoes. They fit properly, looked good, and were very comfortable. Unfortunately, the second time I went to put them on, right before a performance, the tongue ripped right out of one of the shoes. Now they really are just practice shoes!
