Well, I bought them cause they were Patagonia. They are quite comfortable and were from the very first time on put them on my tootsies. A wee bit expensive now that I think about it, but hey, I hardly ever buy shoes.

Very light weight, comfortable, and very roomy toe! Very grippy honeycombs on pavement, but not so much on grimy tile/vinyl flooring (Metro transit). Good for lounging around and biking. They are flexible, yet the fabric feels sort of stiff. Not good for lots of walking! Not enough arch support for that. They feel about ¼ of a size too big, but that might be because the toe is so accommodating. The pictures don't lie they are low riders, with a thin sole. The plus is that they are pretty breathable. The green color is nice. My overall rating would actually be a 3.7 on a 5 point scale.

Nice, comfortable shoe. Size seems pretty true to fit. I've had them for about 2 months and have had no problems.

The Alpaca Brown is *slightly* darker in color than the pictures here make it seem, but it could be poor settings on my monitor.\r\n\r\nThe fit is very true-to-size. If I had to say whether this shoe runs larger or smaller, I would say smaller...but it still feels very true-to-size.\r\n\r\nFor my feet (wide with low arches), this shoe feels extremely comfortable. I prefer to be barefoot whenever possible - and this shoe simulates that sensation, while giving me decent cushion and protecting the soles of my feet from the sharp things that always seem to find their way under my feet (rocks, pinecones, Legos, etc).\r\n\r\nThe suede is very supple right out of the box, and the hemp loosens after a week or 2 of daily wear (although it never interfered with the comfort or function of the shoe).\r\n\r\nThe soles of the shoe have provided great traction on typical surfaces, but they can be just as slippery as any other shoe on smooth, wet surfaces (tile, etc).\r\n\r\nThanks to the hemp, these shoes breathe wonderfully - my feet have always stayed very dry in them.\r\n\r\nOne thing worth mentioning is that the insoles will occasionally squeak as you break the shoes in over the first few weeks. Most likely, since Patagonia minimized the use of adhesives in these shoes, the rear of the insole is not glued into place. This causes the bottom of the insole to rub against the top of the outsole (both rubbery surfaces), and occasionally squeak. It could just be the way I walk, though....and now that I have been wearing them for a month or 2, I\'ve not noticed the squeak much at all. I did notice it, however, in the first few weeks of wearing them. It sounds a lot like how wet rubber soles squeak on a smooth tile surface (almost a \'quack\'), but much quieter. It doesn\'t bother me, but it\'s certainly worth mentioning.

These shoes are extremely light and comfortable; however, they don't have much arch support or insole padding.

Very nice shoe - This is my first pair of Patagonia's and I am pretty happy. The shoe is very comfortable and looks pretty nice. Strangely they have a very bad odor (not from my feet!) must be because of the materials they used.

After about 1 year of mild wear the stitching holding the sole to the uppers failed on both shoes. I now have big holes in the toes of both shoes. I expected much better built quality from a shoe of this price. Disappointing.

The sole of shoe too thin. I have confirmed this with reviews from other sites. I doubt shoes would last more than a month of wear. Ha, no wonder you should recycle these. They are extremely comfortable though, just not worth the price. I have a terrible time finding shoes wide enough, and these were great.

Shoe fell apart within 3 days of wearing. Stitching came apart in front and hole in sole that is made of rubber.

Shoes very lightweight, but rubber sole tore within first 3 days of wearing. Stitching came apart in front of shoe, had to send back two pairs I bought.

Extremely comfortable with a "barefoot" feel. A perfect shoe for casual work, shopping, spectator sports. I don't recommend this for summer though, since it doesn't breathe well. If your office is linoleum rather than carpet, the honeycomb soles may make some popping noise as you walk.
