These were a little difficult to get on. The heels felt very narrow and rubbed. The shoes were comfortable, but I could feel the insole in the middle of right foot. I decided to return them.

These shoes are a little difficult to get into, but slide too much on the heel. The foot bed was generally comfortable although there was too much padding on the outside edge for my foot. Returning them.

Must have NARROW FOOT to Wear this Shoe!!! I could not believe it when I tried these shoes on. I always wear a medium and my feet are on the wider side, not narrow. I couldn't even get my feet into the shoes. I tried desperately. There is also no arch support. Unless you have narrow feet, I would not order these.

This is my second pair of these shoes. I bought the other pair a few years ago. I add a thin Dr. Scholls liner as I have had foot surgery and was so happy to find shoes that both look and feel great! They can be worn with jeans or slacks, are a great fit and very comfortable!

I love these shoes. They look very classy and elegant with my business attire and are very comfortable. They are also very supportive.

Purchased these shoes for a two week trip to Italy. We did a lot of walking and they kept my feet comfortable and blister free the entire time.

I bought these Merrell shoes for my daughter for a Christmas gift. It turned out to be a truly wonderful gift. She just had knee surgery for torn ligaments and tendons, and needed to get back on her feet in a week to work as a hair stylist, and this means of course being on her feet most of the day. That's why I chose Merrells, they offer great support, and this shoe offers style too, so we were able to take care of her foot and leg support and keep her fashion sense at the same time. I just wish Merrill made their shoes in wides so I could where them. She loves them, and their so comfortable she never wants to take them off. Thanks Merrell and thanks to Zappos for getting them to me in time for Christmas. Sometimes everything works out, picking the right companies with great products is the way to be satisfied and getting your monies worth.

I love this shoe! This is my second pair of Merrell Spire Stretch. I wore the first pair for three years. They still felt great, but were looking a little tired. I am up and down on my feet all day long and have arthritis in my feet. This shoe provides the right mix between support and "give," along with a neat and tailored look with black pants at work. I wear them just about every day during the fall and winter months. I was very excited to see that this style was still made and that Zappos is carrying Merrell's for women.

Good Looking...Great Quality - I purchased these shoes as a replacement of sorts for a black pair of Merrell's that I've been wearing for about 6 years. I'm partial to my old pair but these are just as nice. You cannot wear out a pair of Merrell's - the quality is fantastic!

A wonderful shoe - Excellent in fit, walking comfort, style.

Merrell Spire stretch - Comfort is acceptable. There is no break in time; I would recommend it to anyone. Although I normally have a problem with shoes in terms of arch support, and height. This shoe is excellent.

Great waterproof/resistant loafer - This shoe was comfortable right out of the box, which was good because I was down to the wire on a waterproof shoe for my trip to Europe. The shoe might state water resistant, but this thing is waterproof! Got caught in a downpour in Rome and my feet remained dry and toasty. I was also very rough on this shoe and did some trail walking in the Czech Republic and the shoe held up very well. Again, my tootsies were dry and toasty at the end of some very wet and muddy trails. The look of the shoe won't win any beauty contests, but that's not why I bought it. :) All-in-all a very good shoe that I would recommend.

Merrell Spire Stretch - Most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. True to size.

My favorite shoes! I ordered two pair of these because I was worried I'd wear my first pair out. Nice enough to wear everyday at work, yet comfy enough for the weekend with jeans.

Incredible Comfort - Spire Stretch was comfortable right out of the box--no break-in necessary. It has a cushioned foot bed with good arch support and a soft leather upper that doesn't rub. I wear either a 7 1/2 M or an 8 N depending on style of the shoe and the brand. Since I didn't have a width choice here, I ordered the 7 1/2 M, and that size was perfect with thin socks. No slipping, despite my narrow heel. Although I plan to wear these shoes with jeans and "cords," they are not too casual for tailored slacks. The rubber "tread" that goes part way up the back of the heel is a bit weird, but not obtrusive. Actually, I think it will protect the back of the shoe when I drive. If this style came in chocolate brown, I would buy another pair.

Great Shoe - This shoe has it all. I know Merrell shoes have a reputation for being a well made shoe and this shoe does not disappoint. Comfortable from the moment you put it on and a great look.

Terrific shoe! This is a well-made, comfortable shoe that is neither too bulky nor too clunky. I have narrow feet, but these fit perfectly with tights or light socks. The footbed, especially in the heel, is very cushioned. The shoe's structure is supportive in that it holds the foot upright and feels great. I can wear these all day any day, walk long distances, and they still feel good.

I liked this shoe a lot and wish it had fit. Looked good on, was very comfy, had a flexible but supportive sole. Plenty of room for my orthotics. Length was fine in my usual size, but it was too wide for my foot, especially my narrow heel. Wish I could find the same thing in a narrower width.

Very nice looking shoe. Runs 1/2 size larger than marked, length wise, but quite narrow and snug width wise. I thought I'd have to return them due to the narrowness, but after a few wearings they have loosened up slightly. Definitely requires a thin sock. Great traction on the soles.

Great for Travel - I purchased these shoes for a trip to Ireland. They were super comfortable, looked good with jeans and kept my feet dry throughout the entire trip. They did not require any breaking in. I did a lot of walking and they always felt great. Great shoes!

Merrell Spire Stretch - I wanted a shoe sturdy enough to stand up to city walking in a storm without looking like prescription footwear or sport shoes (and keep my feet dry and warm). They don't look like galoshes, or even boots. They stay nice looking in wet conditions, and look decent with slacks at the office. They fit snugly but not too tightly, have a flattering shape and are comfy with fine gauge hosiery. No need for thick socks for cold weather. They are light weight enough to make them easy to carry in case I want to change into something dressier. That meets all my requirements...these have all the usual good fit qualities of Merrells. I am really happy with them.

I didn't particularly like the look of these shoes, but I needed a water resistant slip on for an upcoming trip. I liked the shoe when I received it but I could not even get my foot into it. I ordered the next half size up and that fits me fine. It is very comfortable and I like the fabric that goes around the top of the shoe. My advice is to order up a half size if you have a high arch or instep. I have only worn them around the house so far and they have been really comfortable. I don't think these shoes will win any awards for being cute, but they look nice with pants and are not so sporty looking that I could wear them to the office. A great choice once I got the size figured out!
