Shoes are for my husband. We both love the Merrells with the extra ortho-lite support. So far he likes the looks of the shoe. The size is his normal size 9 and he says they feel good.

These Merrills are very much a staple in our house. Over the years they have managed to keep it pretty much true to the base concept. This year is no exception. Great utility shoe, wear them all the time.

I am a strict fan of Merrell and Keen sport/casual shoes. I get superb performance out of both. I need a shoe that I can slip on quickly and use for just about anything chore wise. For me Merrell Jungle Moc fits this requirement better than Keen. This is my second pair of Jungle Mocs. After five years of heavy use I completely wore out my first pair, completely. I could still wear them like an old comfortable sweater but the Warden says she won’t go anywhere in public with me if I wore the Mocs. Therefore……a new pair is on my feet as I write this. 1st pair: The soles are worn smooth in spots. The interior lining was worn through in areas to the backside of the leather. The heel rests were worn clean through to the top of the out-soles. Mushed crushed, dented and tired. What’s funny is I still loved the JMs and could comfortably wear them.. I figured on getting another five thousand miles out of them. Do Not misinterpret this wear I am describing to you. An M1 main battle tank can appear rode hard and beat up but still do the job. These shoes were not meant for the abuse they received. A work boot would properly fit the bill. It's just that I was so comfortable wearing them….so I wore them. With normal use I’d expect many more years of use before component failure. I’m 235lbs and am hard on work shoes let alone casual slip-ons. Yard work (3 acres), car work, house repairs, driving everywhere I would wear my Jungle mocks. Commenting on the elastic webbing on the east-west side of the shoe. The elasticity held up extremely well. Plenty of stretch and snap back still left in the elastic. I found that the body of the shoe did not stain easily. That was pleasantly surprising. New pair: As in my first pair the size 11w feels perfect in width and length. These are immediately very comfortable with ZERO break in. I have a high arch and a slightly protruding heel. These shoes have a very decent “heel counter”, that is, the heel is cupped out slightly to accommodate the heel properly. I wish more shoes would have this feature. In days gone by the heel counter was common. Not so much nowadays. The NUBUCK leather has excellent thickness and finish. I apologized to my new JMs for what they are about to go through then tossed them down the cellar stairs. Comfort, performance, value, durability….what’s not to like. CHEERS.
