My normal size is 7, but a bit large. 61/2 is perfect, as per an older pair of Taupe Barrados. They have traveled the world & are still in great condition. I would like to see the earlier style (tan/beige/taupe) return in the same fabric(s) as the black Barrado, not the mesh look. The zippers are easy & never catch. It's a very comfortable walking shoe. Even nicer when on sale!

I first bought the Merrell Barrado in 2007! Bought a pair in black and a pair in white!! I still have and LOVE them. Was so excited to see the Black and Beige available. Bought the Black and thrilled with them. Fit is perfect, comfy and can be worn even in the rain. They last forever! Please, Please bring back this shoe in White!

Love. Love. Love. I never find the right shoes..... these fit perfectly, out of the box, like slippers. They had good support. Size was spot on. The plus? I wear a 9.5 and they make my feet look tiny.

Absolutely THE best walking shoe I have ever purchased. I have wide feet and bunionettes. This does not affect them at all. They look good with gym clothes and are fine with jeans too. Would buy multiple pairs in case they discontinue these.

I bought this pair for a trip. I wore them to the airport and received a couple of compliments on their look. They are stylish, but more importantly, they are excellent all day walking shoes. They provide great support! I highly recommend them. They are true to size on the loose comfort end.

I normally measure as an 8 wide at the shoe store. So I ordered an 8.5 in this shoe. It fits my bare feet perfectly, but seems a little too tight with socks. I was surprised at how comfortable right out of the box these shoes were. I don't think I'll wear these in the deepest of winter cold since they fit best with either no socks or with stockings. But I will definitely wear them spring, summer and fall. They look nice with both black yoga pants and jeans. They are in between dressy and sport.

This version of the Barrado does not have the glove-like fit of my original pair from some years back, and a little shorter in the toe. These are looser on the foot, but do love the 0 degree heel incline. Wish they were more to the original standards, but find them comfortable, with light socks, and great travel shoes.

I love Merrells and own several pairs, but as another reviewer mentioned, this shoe is somewhat stiff. I could tell the back top edge of the shoe was going to give me a blister. Stylish looking shoe and would be lightweight to pack for a trip.

not meant for a high instep

The issue was the arch - it started too far back toward the heel, so the highest point of the shoe's arch was at least 1/2" behind the highest point of my arch. I took out the insole, thinking that might be the culprit, but no, I could still tell I'd be in pain pretty quickly. I considered if going up a half size, but I suspected it would not have resolved the issue, so back they went. Too bad, because they were just the kind of easy-on, easy-off shoe I need.

Merrell has quit making quality arch supporting shoes. It’s sad. I’ve been wearing these for work (hairstylist) for 15 years & now I’m done.

I purchased this shoe 7 or 8 years ago and have loved it. I was excited to see that it was still available as I needed a new pair. Unfortunately, the designers have chosen to "improve" the shoe and it is a big miss! My old shoes have a nice piece of leather that curves around the toe box which made them seem a bit dressier. These have a piece of square leather slapped on the front of the toe and then OUTLINED in white stitching! It makes the shoe look cheap. As for the comfort, I have always loved the support and comfort of Merrell shoes and the feel of the old Barrado. These have no support and a hard footbed. I've added arch supports and am going to replace the lining. I've colored the white stitching with black shoe polish to soften the clunky look of the toe. I know, why did I keep them? I love the ease of the zipper and that the shoe isn't chunky. Please Merrell, don't mess with something that is a winner.

These just aren't the same as they used to be. These are uncomfortable. The stitching design rubs badly and is almost painful. The opening is wider at the top and my foot flaps upward. The rest of the show fits fine. I order a whole size smaller than usual. I have narrow feet, but the older version of these used to fit perfectly.

Perfect fit, I wear this shoe all summer.

Own these in black & red. Love how feminine they look. Very comfortable!
