Very comfortable shoe. Didn't even have to break them in. Love the design of this shoe. They are very light, it's almost like wearing a sock with soles. Not a great deal of cushioning though. Best part was the service I got. Zappos upgraded my delivery from standard to priority at no extra charge. Thanks Zappos.

Awesome shoe! Great shoe! Can’t go wrong with Merrell's, third pair I own. Comfy and fit great. Dry fast and don’t stink! I keep them in my Jeep in case I ever encounter something that needs an outdoor shoe and I couldn’t ask for a better one!

Most comfortable shoe ever - I'm EXTREMELY picky about my shoes and after trying on about 30 pair I settled on these. They're designed as a shoe for water sports, but I wanted a lightweight shoe for everyday use. The mesh upper makes them exceptionally breathable. Honestly, it's like you're just wearing a sock.

Boy, do I love these shoes! So much that I just bought another pair to keep for later use. My family just went to several locations in the Caribbean and Central America. I wore these shoes snorkeling in Honduras and Cozumel. Wore them to Sting Ray City in the Cayman Islands, and wore them on a three mile jungle hike through the rain forest in Belize and then cave tubing. The Waterpro Ultras have held up perfectly. I wore them at times with socks and at times without. They are extremely comfortable and light. No break-in required and no blisters or any sore spots at all. They can be a walking shoe, hiking shoe, running shoe, and water shoe. They’re so light and comfy, I wear them pretty much every day now. Excellent purchase.

All He Wears - These shoes are so great it is all my husband wears. So great for those people who are on their feet 24/7, they have great air flow to and anti odor control to prevent odor. My husband wears these year round. The shipping from Zappos.com was the best I have ever seen! Free upgrade and fast!

Great Athletic Shoe! This is a great shoe. I ordered 1 size greater than I usually wear, but YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO THIS. It runs slightly bigger and will fit well. Initially some "scratching" at the arch, but wore in very well. Looks great! And Zappos has a great customer service. I've ordered several times and orders always come in faster than expected!

A good follow up to the previous Waterpro - ... but still below the bar set by the original Pulse. I like these and will get another pair, they worked well in the jungles of Costa Rica and breathe well. A bit fatiguing for all-day, otherwise excellent.

Form & Function - Great looking shoe that performs well during all outdoor activities. Super cool mesh keeps feet breathing in hot weather. Very comfortable with removable foot bed. I have three pairs!

Cool shoe - I am a nurse and wear these to work for my 13 hour shift. I got them because I thought if they were waterproof they might also be bodily fluid proof. They are very comfortable and easy to slip on. There is good traction. They are extremely AIRY; my feet stay cool and don't sweat in them. My only complaint is that they squeak A LOT. There is only man-made materials, no leather. This prevents water from ruining the shoe, but makes a horrible plastic/pleather rubbing noise when you walk. I've only had them a couple months but the noise is embarrassing already. Everyone has complimented how cool they look. I haven't worn them hiking so I can't comment on how they function as outdoor sport shoes, but for work they are great.

Comfy, but no real support - These are very light. You can't tell by looking but the overall material is a mess like pattern. So air flows easily, but so does dew from grass...getting socks damp. In addition to being light, they also don't offer much support to the overall foot. I barely notice they are on, a good and bad feature. Overall, I want more feel to my footwear. Others mentioned the squeak. Yes, I have it too. While walking around in the house I didn't notice them, then after walking outside for about 5 minutes the sound appeared. It's been a few days now and the sound is still there. I hope it goes away.

Bought for use on boat - I bought these shoes with the intention to use them while boating on the Great Lakes. I wanted something that could get wet, provide good traction, and was non-marking for boat surfaces. So far they have been fine in all the needed areas. I do believe that traditional boat shoes provide better overall traction. I am on my second pair. My first pair had to be returned after two usages because of stitches coming out. A nice casual alternative to boat shoes.

A great summer shoe. The frictionless lining and breathable mesh help make this shoe a very comfortable summer shoe. I am looking forward to portaging in them soon!

The shoes are almost one size bigger, and there is no real arch support. From the heel area ahead it continued like a slope. After 30 minutes at home I feel a pressure in the back of my feet. I am a big Merrell fan, but it did not work this time. My wife purchased the female edition and is very happy Great service from Zappos, some of the best out there.

Designed as a water sports shoe - These shoes are sold in some specialty stores as watersports shoes, such as canyoning, wet hiking, etc. Well, 2 months into using these shoes on various and extreme conditions, gotta say my review is mixed. First, they are very comfy, provided good airflow during hot weather and look good overall. On light trail hikes, the cushioning is quite good, the grip acceptable with their Vibram soles. On the wet, I had two less than OK experiences. In river conditions, the shoe holds Ok, but has not provided lots of grip on rocks, large or small, when in action. On saltwater (used these to protect also my feet when fishing on reefs - with some light wading), they did not provide enough grip and tend to collect lots of sand and debris. After 15 mins, you'll start collecting open sores and scratches around the contact points. On the flipside, not sure if they are other shoes that can protect better for these kind of uses, but at least they provided my feet some level of protection...

Great Shoe with a Big Design Flaw - Let me start by saying I love this shoe. It is lightweight, comfortable and great in and out of the water. This shoe would be a home run except for one big design problem. The criss cross webbing frays at the spots where it rubs against the black nylon guidelines. Every step you take causes the webbing to rub against these lines particularly in the mid sole area. Both my brother and I experienced this fraying problem within one week of wearing the shoes. At various websites, I have seen others complain about this.

I purchased this shoe and the Waterpro Ottawa. Go with the Ottawa, it is much better quality. The elastic bands that hold on to the shoe strings make it difficult to really tighten this shoe. Go with the Ottawa, unless this shoe was on sale.

Major Design Flaws - I purchased these shoes about 6 months ago and they've already completely worn out. The webbing straps rub against the laces as well the cording that runs the length of the shoe, causing fraying. At first this rubbing made the shoe squeak with each step, which was mostly just annoying. Now the webbing has broken in the same spot on both shoes (where it crosses the cording at the arch.) Both times, it's happened while I was out someplace, and I had to tie the ends together in order to go about my day. I've had to keep wearing these because I can't afford to replace them, and now the strap and laces are starting to wear through where they cross. Looks like I'll have to find the money somewhere because now I can't afford NOT to replace them. I don't wear this shoe in the water nor would I want to. Every time I step on smooth, wet surface, I slip. I owned the previous version if this shoe, and it didn't have either of these problems. Changes to the design did NOT improve this item.
