Amazing - I'm a chick and wear this everywhere... it stays comfy walking for miles and is good at the barn, too. The laces tend to come untied, but you can replace them. I just tie them with another knot after I do the bow.

Great boot, super comfort - This is a great hiker/hunter or even casual kick-around boot. I have the E2 width and it fits perfect, its water proof and also keeps my feet comfortable and warm with just a mid-weight smartwool sock. Tracks great in snow, excellent grip. Give it a try...

Irish Setter changed manufacturer. First pair I bought a few years ago were the best boots I've ever owned. Those were made in China. Now they're made in Vietnam and they're way too narrow, even though I bought wide EE. Also way too tight on the top of foot. Farewell Irish Setter. It was good while it lasted.

Very well made boots. I wear size 14 and the fit is right on. Fairly comfortable right out of the box. I'm not used to wearing boots so took a few tries to get the lacing comfortable, after that and a little bit of walking around they are very comfortable. Seem like they should last a long time. They are great for working in the woods.

I got these as replacement for Vasque Bitterroots which didn't last very long. I haven't purchased RedWings before but I am impressed with this boot. I have wide feet and often when a shoe says wide, it's not wide enough but this one was. Also it was taller than my previous boots but again it's very comfortable around the ankle without any irritation. The construction is very strong and well built. The sole has excellent traction and the sole is stiff enough for backpacking and comfortable enough for everyday hiking. I have used them for a bunch of tough hikes and still like them a lot. They needed essentially no break in time as they fit great right out of the box. I also purchased a pair of SuperFeet Premium Oranges, and they give excellent support.

These boots are very comfortable. The ankle support does not chafe like other boots do. I love that they are water proof. I like that I can remove the leather flap that the laces go through. I work in agriculture. My Co-workers were impressed and three of them have bought the same boot. They all tell me they love them. You will not be disappointed in buying this boot.

Great looking boots. Comfort is a little stiff, so break in may take awhile. Like all Red Wing and Vasque they run a bit narrow. I rarely have to upsize when there is a wide or EE available, but with these I did.

They're worth it. Was looking for a pair of everyday boots and found no luck until I discovered these babies. Now I'm an avid Red Wing boot fan I guess you could say, so when I found out about these Irish setters I was quite intrigued. Alright so let's get down to business, I'm naturally a size 14 but I'll wear 13.5 if need be. Luckily the size 14 pair that I got fit snug up to the arch of my foot then is nice and roomy for the rest of my foot and toes. The rugged tread works well, laces hold up fine, and best part they broke in relatively easily. Hope this helps.

I continue to purchase this specific brand and model of boot, after 6 years now, and still the quality remains excellent, the fit (both length and width) remain constant , including comfort. Right out of the box and off to work I go. No "breaking in" period with discomfort - that's a plus. I would recommend this boot to anyone who works construction and needs a boot that will last more than 12 months or so. Mine have lasted over 2 years avg., for all 3 pairs I've owned.

The size is perfect and very comfortable out of the box. Irish setter/red wing boots are the best hands down. I would never buy a different brand as long as they don’t change materials. THE BEST

The fit and size were perfect. I did try a pair on at a store so I had a good idea how they would fit. Red Wing makes some amazing boots. I live in the Northwest and it gets cold and wet. I put some sealer/protector (Whites boot wax) on the boots and they keep my feet warm and dry. I would highly recommend these boots.

I've not had actual work/hiking boots for a lot of years and I wanted to treat myself to something a bit higher quality than the low end disposable ones. I found these and was pretty surprised at the quality for what they cost. Full welt, steel shank, and lots of real leather. When these need a new sole, it will be easy to have done. There was a few days of break-in to get to fairly comfortable. I was surprised that having a raised heel didn't take any getting used to. Tightening the laces still takes a bit of pulling, but they fit my feet so well that I don't feel like I have to cinch them down. If you're looking for light, these aren't that. You know you have them on. They give good ankle support and I feel well planted when wearing them. I wouldn't call them stylish from a looks perspective, but they don't look like clown shoes either. The arch support is low. I have flat feet and, while I could feel there was a bit of arch support, there was no fight with my feet to see which would change shape first. If you need more than that, you may need an insert. Overall, I'm very happy with these.

Bear in mind that I haven't had a pair of serious boots in a long time much less anything constructed like these or as expensive. I expected comfort to be be moderate with break in required. While I sure wouldn't go tromping through the woods in them yet, they are surprisingly comfortable right now around the house. The leather is pretty stiff and getting them to the point where I can really tighten down the laces properly is going to take a bit of time. Even with that they fit fairly snug, but aren't pinching. I have fairly narrow feet so if yours are even slightly wider than usual, order the wide size. The arch support is there, but not super pronounced. That's exactly what I want having somewhat flat feet. I like the appearance. The toe box is profiled in a way that doesn't give the clown shoe look. The leather looks darker on the actual boots than it appears in the photo. they just flat out look well made. I normally don't spend this much on footwear, but if these last twice what I normally get from a pair of less well constructed shoes, I'll come out ahead. From the looks of them, they will last far longer than that.

These boots felt great right out of the box. Very stylishly rugged looking. Seems to be a very well made boot, I'm thinking about buying another pair for backup.

Feels pretty great right out of the box. I did put jel inserts in as I do all my shoes. Very rugged, well built looking boot. I would buy them again.

I have always wanted a pair of Irish Setters. When I saw these were discounted I decided to go for it. I was looking for a hiking boot and these, although a tad bit tall, seemed to cover both a hunting and hiking boot. For me there is a break in period for boots. Others may not need that time span, but I do. After wearing these boots for two days I can feel them conforming to my feet. And, just to mention it, I have high arches and must replace the insoles of boots with arch support insoles. Doing this made these boots fit nice and snug. From the looks of things, I believe I am going to enjoy these very much

Great outdoor boots. Warm and waterproof. Great for hiking or hunting. I bought them for hunting. Assuming you're going to wear outdoor socks with them, I would order them a full size larger than your Brannock device size.

Boots came as advertised. We're stiff for about 3 days but broke in nicely. Are lightweight compared to most boots I've worn. Work construction so that's everyday. Overall, pleased with purchase. Arrived early, which was a plus.

These are absolutely awesome! They fit true to size. It is great to do modifications to the outsoles because of the Goodyear Welt construction. You cannot go wrong with these great boots!

Boots arrived today. I put them on to work them in a bit and within minutes I forgot I had them on. They felt like my perfectly worn in older boots. Hours later I was working at the mixing console and noticed the thicker hiking soles when I activated a foot switch. I was literally surprised that I had them on. The fit and comfort are amazing. Plus they look pretty spiff. Buy these boots. No, really, buy these boots. If you keep looking, you're just wasting time you could be enjoying outside.

I have had these for 6 years I wear them everywhere the tread still shows minimum wear I treated them several times with mink oil and keep my feet dry, traction is excellent, comfort is amazing, I'm getting another pair of these if these ever wear out. Highly recommend if you spend time hiking working in the garden or hunting in weather 30 degrees and above! Absolutely great boots! Well done Irish setter!
