I was sad to have to return these shoes. They are so classic looking and were adorable on my 6 year old's feet, but he immediately said they hurt his heels and had to take them off right away. They do feel quite stiff in that area with very little padding. Also, for what it's worth, a previous reviewer mentioned that New Balance was made in the USA. . . check the label on the tongue if you're interested to know where your pair was made.

Sturdy base. Fits well. Mesh quality is below average; within month there was already a hole in the top mesh portion.

These are super comfy and the wide width is great for my son. He's been wearing this model for the last 3 pairs of shoes since he was 2 yo and frankly he won't wear anything else. he used to wear Stride Rite but he finds these are light, and comfy for his foot. And for boys it really does match well to everything they wear. My son is only on size 10 right now so I actually bought this for my 5 yo daughter to wear in the interim as she said she wanted to match her little brother sometimes. And then when he gets old enough he will wear it as his primary shoe. These wear very well so i get to have both kids wear this for a while. As for my daughter she has multiple pairs of shoes (takes after me) but she says that these and her pink Adidas fluid are the most comfy!

Going on our 3rd pair, good quality and my kid loves them. He won't let us buy him a different shoe!

The only shoes my son will wear! He has had 5 pairs, and struggles every time to give up on the last and put on the new ones. Great support, comfort, durability, and they go with almost everything...if I could add cleats he would wear these to soccer. Buy these instead of any other shoe on the market for your active little one.

The customer service received from Zappos is second to none. Will only purchase shoes online from Zappos. Shoes are great too!

I have bought many pairs of these, and related models for my nephews and son. They hold up well with daily use. I prefer velcro closure over laces at this age since the children can put their own shoes on.

Very nice and I especially like that the velcro part has not fallen apart. My son goes through sneakers very quickly and these still look good after a month of using.

My grandson loves New Balance. He says they bounce "great". Very happy with this shoe and have bought it for years.

My son loves it! He's 8 and loves it. Downside, I got him the wide cut and yes, it's very wide. Also, the color is more grey than blue.

Bought these shoes for my 6 year old son, He loves them. Comfortable, easy to put on. Very resistant. Would recommend and buy again.

Love them, I brought this sneakers for my 5 year old son. He loves to wear them to school. It's so easy for him to put them on when we are rushing in the morning. This is the type of sneakers that are recommend for kindergarten because teachers don't want their kids to wear shoe laces.

Great shoes, my grandchild could not keep his shoes tied at school. These fit well and he has no problem now.

7th pair, only shoe that my 5 year old cannot blow out. Best made shoe on the market.

My son likes these sneakers a lot, but he has started to fold the tongue over under the velcro strap to fill up some more space. Seems he can\'t make the shoe tight enough, though the length is right. They had seemed a good fit initially. Still, he isn\'t willing to return them. So I would say they run wide.

Great shoe. Easy on/off, durable, comfy and the olive/brown goes well with everything my son wears.

My 4-year-old loves these shoes, and I love that he can get them on and off himself.

Great shoe. Unlike some of the other New Balance Velcro close shoes, these ones have plenty of wiggle room in case your child has "thick" or wide feet. The brown color is great, and all the NB shoes I've bought always wash nicely in the washing machine.

This shoe is great! My son really liked them...he can run super fast & they stay on due to the Velcro strap. They are a great color & match all the blues & browns.Very happy!

Due to son's slightly wider feet, we have always been loyal fans of New Balance. While we have tried several of the New Balance wide sneakers, we find this style/model to best suit our needs in that the shoe is well-constructed yet has enough give and movement. I was a little afraid of the blue being a little to effeminate, but I was pleasantly surprised at the cool color combo.

My 7 year old son says these tennis shoes are very comfortable and wears them all the time.

My active son doesn't want to take the time to lace up shoes, so these are perfect. They are holding up well and are very comfortable.

These shoes are the greatest! Easy on, easy off and perfect for a kid to put on themselves. We've ordered them in this size for our daughter and the toddler, smaller size for our son and we love them both. Will absolutely order again as they grow. Great New Balance quality and style.
