Good boots except for the pain they caused me by the tongue putting pressure on my ankle and leg bone. It was so painful I had to stop and apply moleskin, which only helped slightly. I still have the bruises from them. This occurred as I was hiking up hills, and the tongue pressed on my bone. I can't use them for hiking hills, so I am very disappointed.

The new boots are too narrow. Two years ago the same size fit me perfectly. Now, they've made then longer and more narrow.

Perfect in every way. Comfortable immediately, waterproof, true to size, padding around ankle, toe room even with thick socks, good arch support and general footbed support, great looking. Hiked in Ireland for two weeks with brand new boots -- no problems at all! These boots are my new best friends!

Excellent fit! Light weight! Kept my feet dry even while walking/standing in a stream to fish.

I have had problems with the fit of boots in years past, but decided to try again with Zappos. I tried nine different pair... and found these to be a comfortable fit with great support. I have hiked in them and found they felt "broken in" from day one. Zappos was accommodating in every way. I am tremendously satisfied with the boot and with Zappos.

I love these boots. I wore them hiking in the Sierras with minimal break-in time & they were very comfortable. They have great support for my bad ankles/flat feet. I've even worn them to teach 5th grade when my ankles are sore & they help me stay on my feet all day.

I do like these books. They are comfortable and warm for the cold winter months. They go up high enough on the ankle, but not too high. I think these would be good for cold snowy weather and also hiking. I highly recommend these.

The boots was not comfortable initially, but after several days they become really comfortable. I hiked during the rain and hiked on the river beds with lots of rocks and the boots hold up pretty good and keep my feet dry. For this kind of boots please make sure to wear long socks, otherwise, it won't be that comfortable on your ankle.

This is absolutely the most comfortable hiking boot ever! Immediately after purchasing them I went hiking into the Balkan mountains - treacherous terrain, no facilities, and a true adventure - for 30 km. I only remembered that I had brand new boots on me after I awoke the next morning and realized that I had never even worn them before the hike! I shudder to think what could have happened to my feet had they been any less perfect. I am totally in love with them, and indebted to them for protecting my feet the whole past summer!

The most awesome boots I have ever had! They are light, comfortable and best of all my feet stay nice and warm & dry! Being from upstate New York we have lots of snow in the winter...these boots are going to be just wonderful! Added to the comfort and warmth will be the peace of mind in knowing that with the awesome tread that I won't be so afraid of falling. Found these boots on your site and thought I would take a chance. I am so glad I did! Thank you Zappos! Please don't stop carrying these boots. I'll be back next winter for another pair!

Very light boot. I ordered a half size larger and they fit perfectly with medium hiking socks. No blisters or irritation in any area of the foot after three hikes. Easy lace-up.

Love these boots. I was looking for something for hiking, just walking in the woods with the kids and wearing in the garden. They are great. Sturdy, good support and not too hot. I wear them all day around the house too. Very comfy and great for over pronators too.

These looked like a good replacement for my worn out Hi-Tecs, but ended up being too small - instead of a size 8, I ended up with an 8 1/2. I don’t know why Hi-Tecs would get smaller over the years, but there you go. Otherwise, wonderful boot, like all Hi-Tecs.

I bought these for general outside use in the snow and walking dog in muddy areas. Very comfortable, good support, and waterproof. I did buy 1/2 size up.

I love these boots! I put them on during our first snowfall this year and they were comfortable from the start. Three snowstorms later and I still love them. They provide great traction in the ice and snow and are much lighter than my previous Vasque pair. I found them to be true to size, if anything a little big, which works well for heavier socks, etc…

I was looking for a multifunctional, single piece boot that would work in every season. This boot not only fits the bill, but it proves that the most expensive hikers aren't necessarily the best. It's a solid boot with a terrific arch and is neither too narrow nor too wide. They work great on downward inclines; good support, toe box is just right (i.e., smaller than a Keen but wider than an Ecco boot) so no toe pain. On your first hike or two, I recommend starting out in a heavier weight hiking sock, but carry a thin pair in your pack. Switch the socks every two or three hours and you should be fine. I hiked ten miles right out of the box and had no problems. This winter, I plan on trying them out on the snowshoe trail. They seem light enough to avoid heel slippage, but we'll see. Overall: great, inexpensive boot that I'm not at all embarrassed to wear. While all my hiker friends with their expensive boots are complaining of hot spots four miles in, I'll be striding right past them in my humble Hi Tec boots.

We actually bought these for my son to use on his Boy Scout hikes. He right away used them to hike at Enchanted Rock State Park in Texas; no blisters were formed. They really don't need any "break-in" time, as they are quite comfortable. I liked them for him because of the stay-dry feature for when they are hiking in streams, etc. The shoes provide the needed support, but they are not constricting. I would highly recommend them.

Love the boots and the service was even better! I am on my feet all day in all kinds of conditions and so far my feet have stayed nice and dry and the boots needed no wear in time. I did have trouble getting the right size and had to return two pairs, but the third time was a charm. I called to request a different size late in the evening and the new pair was on my doorstep the following evening when I got home both times. Now that is what I call service! You rock, Zappos! If you wear Adidas, these will fit you well.

Reliable even for construction -
I just bought this boots and have used them on a construction site. Regardless of all the mud, rain, and all other mistreatments, the boots are like new. Also, they are soooooo comfortable. I love them.

I've owned several pairs of these. I work in a wilderness setting and my company issues this boot. They are great for wide feet and feel true to size. The inserts do not offer enough support for my high arches and I replace with Super Feet inserts. Quality wise, they do not hold up like other brands I've owned. I wear these day in and day out and hike in harsh desert environments so the average user won't go through their boots as often as I do. At my rate, I get 6 weeks of use before having to replace. I'm out for up to 21 days at a time wearing these non-stop. The first thing to go on these is always the sole detaching. The fit & comfort though are enough to make up for the lack of durability. I do have a pair I use exclusively for personal use (day hikes and multi-day backpacking) that have lasted a long time with only average abuse, the abuse they go through at work though breaks them down super fast. My co-workers all have had the same experience with their boots.

I have flat feet (with a narrow heel and wide toes) that like solid, firm support WITHOUT a hard, over-pronounced arch-shaped support digging into the sole of my flat foot. Flat, soft insoles make my feet and instep ache painfully after about an hour or so of walking/standing, while high arch supports chafe and dig. I tried almost a dozen other higher and mid-priced hiking shoes, and then came across these... the moment I put them on, my feet knew! Firm support, with comfortable, highly supportive contours in the shape of the outsole and insole...comfort and support all the way!! Wore them through late fall, and winter 2009-2010-- my feet were warm, dry, supported, and attractive through trail hikes and dress-down days at the office! On the market for another pair so when the ones I have wear out (won't be before three to five years of heavy use are up-- they're durable in construction overall, though the outer layer of leather on the toe of one has a nick in it), I won't have to go on another frustrating hunt for solid, supportive, warm, comfortable, dry rugged shoes again!! DEFINITELY recommend for someone with similar foot concerns!!

These boots are comfy. Little clunky, but I am not climbing Everest, so for me they are great. They felt good right out of the box, no break in really.
