Loved my original Dansko stapled clogs, but the Marcelle fits a bit differently in the toe. Love the oil slick patent leather. I'm opting for another last to fit my foot.

I purchased these shoes for work. I am an OR tech and spend all day on my feet. And like all Danskos - these are great! Really comfy and really cute! Everyone calls them my Dorothy shoes.

I am so happy to be reintroduced to Dansko! I have not worn the closed styles for a few years. When I wear the Petrol I always get comments from guys and gals. People really do notice your shoes. The fit of a 38 is true to my size 8 foot and I can wear them all day. I think I will take them to Europe because they are so comfortable! My doctor recommended a running shoe for stability. I think the Dansko is just fine and looks way better!

I sprained my ankle in the Winter of 2009, and have since been dealing with aching joints that progressively gets worse throughout the day, regardless of the shoes I wear. I’ve always heard good things about Dansko, so when I was considering a pair of sturdy, comfort oriented shoes to hopefully provide the support my ankle needs, Dansko was one of the first brands I looked at. I originally tried on a pair of Professionals, but the top of the shoe put too much pressure on my already sensitive foot. Then I found the Marcelle; or more accurately, I found the Marcelle in Petrol Patent. Although the strap hits me in the same place as the top of the Professionals did, the strap is adjustable. This makes the shoe feel secure, but not painful. In fact, my joints don’t ache until after I take these shoes off. I normally take a wide width, and the Marcelle has more than enough room for my foot (with hose or a thin sock), even though it’s not marked as a wide width shoe. I also have high arches, so even when I’m not injured, the Professionals are slightly tight around the top of the shoe. If you have either (or both) of these issues, you will probably prefer the Marcelle over the Professional. My only complaint was remedied by Zappos in a truly amazing fashion. After only a day of wearing my new shoes, the right one started to squeak. I knew I’d read quite a few reviews about squeaky Danskos, particularly the Marcelle, so I tried a few of the tips to make it stop. On the 4th day, it was still squeaking, so I e-mailed Zappos for advice. They initiated a no-questions-asked exchange, and I should be getting my new shoes today, without having to miss a day of wearing the most comfortable shoes I’ve owned in a long time. So, if you’re reading this review and you’re thinking about buying these shoes somewhere else, consider Zappos one more time before you do. Their customer service exceeds expectations, which is worth more than any coupon code you might find for another site.

Buy this shoe, you won't be disappointed. I am on my feet all day at work in the hospital, and it's nice to have a cute, comfortable shoe to dress up my scrubs. The patent leather still looks as good today as when I bought the shoes last year. I get compliments on these shoes at least once a day when I wear them! Be sure you go by the American sizes as marked. I usually wear a European size 41/American 10, but I wear a 40 in Danskos.

These shoes are the most supportive I\'ve ever found. Although Dansko offers more than one type of insole, this particular design has a hard contoured arch that is non-flexible and holds its shape. The shoes have solved the heel pain I\'ve experienced in the past, and I prefer the support over running shoes (for activities other than sports). As compared to running shoes or other dress shoes that require a separate arch support that sometimes moves forward in the shoe and irritates the heel due to stepping on the edge, these are much more convenient and comfortable without the fuss.

This shoe is so cute. Every time I wear them I get complimented. Red and black are my signature colors, so when I saw these I HAD to have them. I’m a Dansko clog fan anyway. I’m slowly building a collection of them. My slightly wide feet love the way they feel, so comfortable! These aren’t quite as wide as the professionals though, but still have that same great Dansko feel. Even with the strap, I can still just slip my feet right in and go, which is what I love about clogs. I will continue to buy more cute Dansko clogs. Thank you Zappos for being the absolute BEST company I have ever dealt with!

I got these shoes in the Petrol patent leather about 3 months ago and have been wearing them a few times a week since then. I still get regular compliments on them. They’re a little looser across the top than full clog style Danskos and my feet will slip a little if I’m wearing thinner socks than usual or doing a lot of walking. I love the foot-bed for all-day comfort!

I absolutely adore these shoes. I work in a restaurant so I am on my feet all day. These make my feet so happy, I could not live without them. The patent leather is great because you can simply wipe them clean. Great buy, love you Zappos!

The best shoes ever! They fit perfectly, and have lots of support. I bought them in two colors. The black and claret. I get compliments every time I wear them and they are so adorable.

I LOVE these shoes! Super comfy, cuter than the enclosed clog and slip ons. Fit is my usual size for Dansko (and also Sanita). For me the Mary Jane looks retro. Even though these shoes are not the "IN IN" style of today, they are a must for some of us who have had various foot surgeries and as we get older, the arch support is a must for walking comfort. I would give these a 10! Hope they keep coming out with stylish shoes! P-Chicago.

This is my third pair of Marcelles. They have the comfort of the staple- bottom clog, but I find them more stable for walking. I have fallen several times walking in the city on uneven pavement in my regular clogs, but NEVER in the Marcelle. They remain comfortable when I stand in them all day for work. Plus, they look cute!

I love these shoes, but they were not comfy right out of the box. They actually hurt my arches the first two days I wore them, after I stood for a 10 shift. Now they feel great. I do not think the euro-american size conversion is accurate. I normally wear a 40.5-41 Euro and I had to go all the way to a 42 to get these to fit right. These are not a good choice if you need to be able to run or move quickly, such as responding to a code in the hospital. These shoes are extremely squeaky, which I now realize is a very common complaint with Danskos.

COMFY! BEAUTIFUL! Great shoe! Love this style! You can still "slip" it on like the professional. I don’t like fussing with a buckle. The finish is not as bright as pictured. Nice and subtle - I get SO many compliments on these!

I absolutely love these shoes! Bought them in "claret" also. They're comfortable, the sizing is "true," and they're adorable. I'm short, and I have a bad back, so I can't wear heels or wedges, but the Dansko Marcelle solves both the height and comfort problem -- especially if you're looking to "dress up" a pair of jeans, etc. My feet are fairly wide, so I'm not sure that someone with narrow feet would find them as comfortable as I do, but I'd give them two thumbs up! Thanks, Zappos, for making them available.

This is the 2nd pair of this style shoe I've purchased. They fit looser than other Dansko shoes, but the sales person told me this style was supposed to. It felt a little strange at first, but after wearing them a while, they felt great. I always get lots of compliments, and I love the color!

These are the cutest pair of Danskos I own! The Petrol color goes well with dress pants as well as jeans. I constantly get compliments every time I wear them.

I have worn Dansko since 1991 at least. I have had many, many pairs in various colors. I am a nurse and wear them almost exclusively for work. I am a true fan and a believer. I wear a size 10 shoe and a 40 in Dansko. I have not had a problem with this style of shoe.

I was very excited to find Dansko shoes that I could finally wear. I ordered the mary jane style clog and was so happy with them. Unfortunately, the strap broke not once, not twice, but three times. I was very frustrated because again, I loved these shoes! I called Zappos and shared my frustration not expecting to take them back, but just to share the information. Well guess what? They took them back! They shipped out a new pair, the Marcelle in petrol. Zappos wrote the book on great customer service! I have shared my story with everyone who would listen to me here at the hospital and now on the web. Take my advice, in a time when money is tight and good value so important, you can not do better than Zappos. Thank you so much Zappos! Many retailers could learn from you!

I purchased these shoes for my mom who has problems with her feet. She cannot get any cute shoes. When I found these she was thrilled. They arrived and she loves them. They are comfortable, wide enough, and have just enough of a heel to satisfy her. I am going to order them in other colors because she loves them so much.

I love these shoes, but I am a 8 and 1/2 and so the 7.5-8 ran too small and 8.5-9 was too big. And I am sorry, but if I pay this kind of money, I want it perfect. So they were out of the Sanitas which is what I original ordered. I gave these to my mom, went to the hospital and tried them all on ending with a 38 Sanita Marcelle. Same shoe, but it met me in that just that little bit of extra room I needed. But I wear these shoes every day and I love them.

These are the perfect closed back Dansko for those with a high instep and arch. The adjustable strap is perfect. I bought a Size 41 and I normally wear a size 10 shoe, I find that Danskos run a bit small. Super comfortable, can be worn right out of the box for 12+ hours, no problems.

Normally I wear a 37R in Birkenstocks, which is the only Euro-sized shoe I wear on a regular basis. I ordered these in a 37 and they seemed comfortable, but something was "just not right." Thanks to Zappos' excellent customer service I had a size 38 in hand the very next day, and they were much more comfortable. So I'd suggest ordering a size up from your Birkenstock size! And the Petrol color is marvelous.

I ordered the Dansko Marcelle in Petrol in October and I have had so many compliments. Great comfort and support in a cute stylish mary jane. Not to mention that they go with every color of scrubs I wear! The only problem: these shoes developed the dreaded Dansko squeak. I wore them for 2 months hoping it would go away, but it only got worse. I called Zappos and explained my problem. The customer service was the absolute best! They offered either a refund or an exchange. I, of course, went for the exchange because I love these shoes. They helped me with the exchange process and I had a new pair of shoes the next day! I love Zappos!
