I had a pair of black Ariat Heritage Western R Toe boots and ordered these. Compared to the black (soft, supple), they are a heavy, stiff, distressed leather. However, my experience was much better than that of some reviewers. They don't feel like plastic; they are a stiffer and more rugged leather. I took them to my shoe repair guy who sped up the break-in by stretching them just a bit. I've had them six months now and they are my favorite shoes of any kind. Note: Mine do not look like the picture. As I noted, the leather is more rugged and is distressed. They are clearly everyday boots. I'd like to have a brown pair more fitting for dress use, but I love these!

Was a bit nervous about buying these over the internet but liked my other pair of Ariats so much, took the plunge. Free shipping/returns also helped. These boots are awesome -- comfortable from the first time I put them on. Ariat's foot bed is very comfortable...the looks are even better than what is on the picture.

This is a great boot. Great styling. I have not had them long enough to judge durability, but I really like the rubber sole and how it has worn so far. Not quite as comfortable as slipping on my Luccheses for the first time, but these are not too far behind. From a value standpoint, this pair of boots is second to none. I typically wear a 12W or 13N just due to the shape of my feet. In this case, I am wearing a full 13D. This would usually feel loose in most instances but in this case it fits. So these might generally run 1/2 size small. Good luck.

Bought these boots for my husband for his Birthday. They run true to size with his other Ariat boots and are very comfortable. They do fit a little more snug and require his boot pull to remove. Beautiful leather.

Finally, cowboy boots that I can wear all day. I put in a pair of cheap insoles, got a supply of Lexol, and these are now my work shoes. I dig the weathered look, but know that they really do look a year old on day one. I am totally satisfied.

These boots were perfect! I was so lucky to find 12EE western boot with the correct toe and heel that he likes. He loves the choc. elephant pattern. These are the only boots I could find at Christmas that would have worked for him. Thanks a lot!

Fit is true to size. Not narrow, but seems like it by comparison to my Justin Boots. Very happy with the overall fit and feel. Be aware that some leather has weird grains and patterns in it and it shows though; not the best quality control to make a uniform product. That being said the pattern in the leather grain makes it unique.

Bought these for my son. He loved them, but he wears a 12 wide and we ordered the 13. Hopefully the 12s will be in stock soon.

I love my boots. I love Zappos. There is nothing negative to say only positive. Yeah!

These are the second pair of Ariat boots I've ordered from Zappos. I'm not sure what I like more, Zappos service or the comfort of Ariat boots. These boots are definitely everyday boots - I can walk all day, stand all day, or even run in them. My boot size is a 10 and these boots fit perfect. Unfortunately I plan on returning these boots because the color wasn't what I had thought it was. I could definitely go else where and by the boot in the color I want and for less now that I know they fit. However, having dealt with Zappos return policy and customer service in the past, I would rather not have the boots than even consider buying them somewhere else.

My feet are very hard to fit and unfortunately these didn't fit. They seem to be larger than what I think the size should be. I didn't like the look of these as much as I thought I would. The shaft felt very stiff compared to Dan Post or other premium brands.

The Ariat Heritage Western boots I ordered were exactly as advertised. Customer support was superb, as well. I will definitely order from Zappos again.

I have a year old pair of these boots I love. Initially they were tight but now are very comfortable. I ordered an additional pair this year in Chocolate. They seem tight in the toe and large in the heel. I ordered a second pair to compare. That pair seemed even larger so I returned it. I'm keeping one pair because they are great boots and look great.

Hard, stiff, cheap leather. They break in after a few days of wearing but these are not up to the standard of other Ariats I've owned. 3 stars equals satisfied but not all that impressed.

I was appalled when I tried these boots on. All four side seams where the shaft attaches to the lower part of the boot dug into my feet so badly, it was painful to even try them on. It's unthinkable that you could wear/walk in these, and I can't imagine how Ariat could produce something that was so poorly made. Ariat's quality has noticeably diminished since they moved their production sites to China, but I still occasionally buy their English-riding footwear (paddock, barn boots); however, I'd never tried their Western boots. Perhaps it was only this one pair that was defective, but the defect was so egregious that I'll never try their Western line again and I'm now dubious about anything made by Ariat.

I really like the appearance and features of this boot but find it lacking in one critical area. My 7.5D foot will not comfortably fit into the 7.5D boot I can't get them on without applying major force and enduring sharp pain to the tops of my feet. One foot actually has a little skin removed from forcing entry. Once on, the fit is perfect and the boot very comfortable so I know the next size up would be too large. If I replace the very nice original insole with a thin basic insole I can just squeeze the boots on but then there is a lot of extra room in the foot bed and the fit is loose on my feet. If not for another issue I might try a liquid stretcher to try to alleviate the issue.

I bought these for my son for Christmas. These were the third pair of Ariat boots that I've bought from Zappos. The quality has really gone downhill on Ariats. They don't feel like leather at all. They are not shiny like the photo shows, but rather dull and stiff and feel like plastic. I also bought a pair of Ariat heritage in black at our local western store and they are really nice, soft, and feel like high quality leather. I'm sure I'll buy from Zappo's again because their service is excellent, but I'm sending these boots back. I definitely would NOT recommend them!
