Well built shoe with firm sole which prevents sharp rocks from impacting bottom of feet. This is why I sought out these shoes. After trying and examining many of this type of shoe in area stores I decided on these and in order to get my size I searched online. The shoes are what I expected but the sizing is not correct. I thought there might be some stretching and wearing in but this was not so. For a wide shoe it is very tight and what it has in features it lacks in fit. Had my size been available locally I probably would have tried them a half size up. In hindsight I should have returned them because the material in this shoe is unlikely to ever stretch.

Great, but narrow -
First off, I have no comments on quality. I just bought this shoe, and returned it because it was too narrow. I even bought the EE and that was too narrow. I do have very wide feet and just wanted to let other potential buyers with wide feet, that this is a narrower shoe. I didn't wear it out or do anything in it, so like I said, I don't know how it holds up. I have found reviews on other websites that do rave about this shoe and that is what made me so interested in it. When I received the shoe in the mail, I was rather impressed with its robust construction and would recommend it to anyone with a more narrow foot looking for a good hiker or trail runner.

Vasque Owner -
I'm on my third pair and I'd not hesitate to buy another. This shoe wears well, is comfortable, and provides great support!

I recently was in the market for a good pair of running shoes. I am heavier than the average runner and I require a shoe that is for lack of better words "rugged" (I am 74 inches tall and 260 lbs) but not a boot. I run in all types of environments i.e. snow, rain, heat, dirt, dust, rough gravel surfaces and very seldom a freshly paved asphalt road. So with all of this said the Vasque Velocity GTX caught my eye. I discovered my first pair of gortex running shoes by accident. I had just finished a PT session in the rain and during the session I was anticipating the soggy foot but it never happened. So I was hooked. Being heavier means that I can easily wear out a pair of shoes in about 3 to 4 months so I needed the cut above. The VST GTX is that.

This is my first paid of Vasque shoes. I have owned La Sportiva's in the past (they have been amazing), but decided to try these out. They are great shoes despite having a defect that seemed to show after about 4 month of wear. The sole began to bubble up in the center of the heel. I am hoping this is just a rare occurrence. Despite this I am willing to give them another try. The have been hiked in Zion and Bryce Canyons for about 50 miles. Zappos was great and sent me a new pair for free.

Not enough shoe for the money -
My feet got wet during the rain, the shoe fits good to my feet, but the bottom of my feet are sore from wearing them, almost feels like I’m walking barefoot. Not a comfortable shoe at all for the money, I will be going back to Salomon shoes asap.

I have a pair of Vasques, already, and love them. I need a relatively stiff sole shoe for arthritis in my big toe and this fits the bill. The pair I ordered feels a little tight in the toe and I have a small rub. After break in it seems to be improving. Zappos is super and FAST!

Heel will bubble / come loose in center for these shoes with little use. Otherwise a great shoe, but this is a very big blunder on the part of Vasque. I have read this same issue over and over and I have had the same experience.

Hard as a rock.
This shoe is extremely hard. It's like walking with a leather soled shoe! For a running shoe, it is horrible. Even with a high quality shock dampening insole, they are still uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I hoped the shoe would soften with a little wear (instead of just returning it immediately). That was a mistake; an expensive mistake. If you like running in leather soled shoes, these are for you. If you want comfort, look elsewhere. These are the most uncomfortable shoes to WALK or run in (they fit nicely, but when the sole is so stiff, it's useless).
