The black stone wash looks very nice and natural. It's kind of tricky to put on, because the ankle area is very narrow, which is why I bought them half a size bigger than what I usually wear. But otherwise, they are very comfortable and they didn't need any breaking in. And they look awesome. I was hesitant before buying them, because I don't like pointy toes, but this one looks great.

Great boot! Love how it has a vintage/used look - tough to get on initially but break in fairly easily and are comfortable!

Maybe I have a really high arch, but I could not get my foot into the boot. They are great looking boots though, but must return.

I absolutely love my Frye boots! I would recommend them to everyone! They are simply amazing and the quality is such that I truly believe they will last forever! Well worth the extra money!

Absolutely love these boots! I was actually planning to buy the Carson boots (am not a huge fan of pointy toes), but one of the reviews said they looked awkward under pants, therefore I opted for Billy. And it was a great choice. I have them in the vintage black and they look amazing. I would totally get them in another color.

Perfect! This boot is everything I can ask for: comfortable, beautiful, high quality leather and well made. I ordered taupe full grain. It is an awesome color for spring and summer. I paired them with a short off white dress, and received tons of compliments. I ordered half size smaller at the first. One boot fit just right, but another one pinched my ankle pretty bad. Ordered my true size, they fit nicely with thicker socks. They are just so awesome, and I'm thinking of getting a different color.

Love these boots! They are perfect for Colorado and campus! I wear an 8.5 or 9, I ordered an 8.5 and was pleased to find that they fit perfectly with hiking socks. I was afraid they'd be too narrow since my feet are not narrow, but the leather is pliable and they are so comfy! I haven't worn them out walking yet, but I don't anticipate any problems. I'd forgotten that others had difficulty getting them over their ankles (I had no problem but then I'm relatively flexible). I have to wonder if the recommendations to order a 1/2 to full size up have to do with getting them on because they truly fit perfectly and I bought the same size I wear in my Campus boots. I highly recommend this authentic-looking cowboy boot -- so cute!

I love these boots! They are cute and very comfortable. I have a narrow foot, and they fit much better than most other boots.

I am very happy with these boots. They were very comfortable from day one, with only minimal break in required. I'd been wanting some cowboy boots for a while but held off because I was looking for something that wasn't too flashy and could be dressed up or down. These definitely fit the bill. I've gotten a ton of compliments on them already!

Great boots in Dallas - These boots are absolutely gorgeous! They are hard to pull on but once on they are very comfortable.

Beware big-footed ladies~ I am a size 11, and I was so thrilled to see such a cute boot in MY size. However, I couldn't get the damn thing over my foot! I tried SOOOOOOOO many times, because I really loved the boot (I ordered it in gray). Unfortunately, I'm going to have to return the boot, because - as it has no zipper - I couldn't make it work. Devastating!

These are great boots, but they run small. Plan to order at least a half size larger than you usually wear and for most people a size larger. I have the Charcoal Old Town and they are a beautiful grey right out of the box, but be warned that they will darken significantly with wear significantly enough that a salesmen didn't recognize the color and mistook it for black which they no longer make in a woman's boot. One thing to note is that unlike the Firebird version of the boot, the tag on the inside of the boot rubs against the inside of your calf and the top of the boot is likely to leave a callus on your shin. That said, once they are really broken in they are wonderful boots. Do expect to need to break them in a bit though.

My experience with Frye and sizing so far: Engineer 8R I'm a size 6.5, Harness 12R I'm a size 6. Ordered the Billy Pull on in 6.5 to allow for the pointy toe and could only get the boot on with the plastic bag trick. After wearing them around the house for a day, it was clear that these boots are not going to stretch as much as my Harness boots, which were a bit tight at first but are now wonderful. I would recommend going up at least a half size from your normal Frye size with the Billy Pull on. Gorgeous boot, but they're on the way back.

Definitely need to go half a size up--but I love these boots. Someone compliments them every time I wear them, which is a lot. They go with everything, from dresses to jeans, and I know they will last. If I have one complaint, it's that the label on the inside of the boot scrapes my leg/pants/tights. If it's my leg, it will scrape it up pretty badly. If my clothes, it tears them up/wears holes. Pretty silly design if you ask me. But I still love these shoes. And the service I got from Zappos while buying this shoe was outta this world.

I usually wear a size 8 in Frye boots but due to the tapered toe of the Billy, ordered half a size up. Comfortable boot but takes some time to pull it off. Love the crackled leather.

Yikes! I had a terrible time getting these on. After I ordered them in my normal size, I went back and read some reviews about ordering one size up. I had ordered the original ones from another site (and found the return process annoying) so I ordered my up size from Zappos. I ordered a whole size larger. Much easier to get on, but too roomy once on. I can live with it though. I would only order 1/2 size up next time. But boots are very nice.

Gorgeous boots and incredibly comfortable once you get them on! Huge downside is how tough they are to get on and off. Tried having them stretched, no dice; bought a wooden "boot jack" that came with hooks to put in the loops (which after having them on/off at least 15 times is still required). Why such a high rating with all the hassle (and ladies, it is a process to wear them)? Because they are so stunning and so comfy. I hope they break in. Oh, on another note, the shaft is pretty tight. I have thin legs with a decent calf muscle and can only wear super skinny jeans in them. Again, hoping some more breaking in will occur. I typically wear an 8, bought 7 and they fit well ("once on", says the broken record).

Loved the look, but was a huge struggle to get my foot in and out due to my high arches. May try a larger size because they are cute.

Boot is very comfortable and the leather is very soft, but does run 1/2 smaller that you usually wear. Only wish the toe was a tad more pointed and less round.

Very cute, but roomy - I must have gotten new stock on these boots, because where others say that they're tight, I think they're huge! I have a slightly wide foot (due to bunions) and I usually wear a 9 to a 9 1/2 in boots. I got the 9 in these, and they are falling off my foot! I have owned Frye boots in the past, and was always a 9 1/2- but the last 2 pairs I've tried, a 9 is too big. Go figure. But that said; these are really nice, soft leather. The color grey is a dark charcoal with lighter grey "distressing"- and is pretty beautifully done, not too over the top. I could see from the bottom view on the lovely Zappos multi-view of the shoe that they looked to be a little wider across the ball of the foot than some of the other Fryes, so I went for them. Sure enough, they are pretty wide for a medium, but I'm not complaining. However, this does seem to make them look a little "baggy" in the instep. There is also a pronounced ridge where the toe box support ends- so if that sort of thing bothers you, you may be disappointed. The only problem for me is that while the length doesn't seem crazy long, they are falling off of my foot with each step, so perhaps width in the heel and ankle is the culprit for me. I'm going to try them in an 8 1/2. I hope that does the trick. With these, I think it would be wiser to get them a tad snug rather than loose, for they seem as though they'll stretch nicely. Also, these seem a little lighter weight than most Frye boots, if that makes a difference to anyone. All in all, a pretty righteous boot, if I can solve my weird fit issues.

I was worried because other reviews said these ran small. I got my regular size and it fits fine. That aside I would say these are both the most comfortable and the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever purchased. My foot is cushioned and fits nicely in the boot/shoe bed. That part is super comfortable. The downside is they sew the Frye label to the inside of the boot and the label is made from very hard and very scratchy material. It feels like a hard plastic with sharp little points on the corners. I wore them for a few hours and it literally cut into my leg and made me bleed. Simple removal of the tags should take care of this problem but I really have to wonder what possessed them to use this stuff inside a boot in the first place.

I recently purchased these boots and like many of the other customers have said getting them on is impossible! To me the boot feels like it runs a little larger. I am a 7.5 and I think I could have gone with a 7 and it would have been fine however, I don't think I could have gotten a 7 over my ankles and calves. I guess beauty is pain because overall I give these boots a 3 but aesthetically I give them a 10!
