These were very comfortable right out of the box. Nice understated pair of boots. One thing to note is that the insole is only a half length job so if you have had that experience with those things rolling up when you take off the boot, you might want to get a good pair of insoles to be perfectly happy with these.

Exactly what I wanted! I'd normally never be moved to write a review of shoes, simply because I'm lazy. At this price, though, I felt these warranted a review. That and they're extremely comfortable! I love these boots, even though I've only had them a few days. The reason I got them was less for style and more that I just wanted an extremely comfortable pair of boots to walk around in dust, without laces. Horrible way to treat these wonderful boots, but they are comfortable! At first, they were a bit tight, but I'm not sure if that was due to swollen feet, or if they stretched out. I'll believe that they stretched, because the leather is some of the softest that I've ever felt on boots. My only concern is that they won't last due to the softness of the leather. Only time will tell, but so far I'm in love with them and have no regrets about spending this much on them.

You can't go wrong with Frye. These Marco Ropers look great and are incredibly comfortable. They'll quickly become your favorite footwear choice.

Perfect! Not day but it could be, but my Frye boots Marco Roper, sized incredible, somebody came in my sleeping to take repairs of feet. Tomorrow I'll be one year more, thanks to you for my so happy birthday, because of you. :)

Great casual boot - These are great casual boots. Great look. Feel good. Lots of compliments. Not for wearing in mud because of suede finish and stitching. Great for knocking around in jeans or khakis.

Marco Roper Dark Brown US 9 - This is a classy boot...one of those you can wear everyday at anytime at any occasion. It just oozes style. I never have owned a pair of Fyre's, but after a few days I'm hooked on the "booting" life. I was a little nervous that they were a half size to large, in the toe box on the length. (Had like a thumb nail extra in them) But after reading numerous reviews and other boot fitting websites they call for a slight heal lift during the break in period. And after about 3 to 4 days of living in them. They just set up perfectly. The quality and the attention to detail shines along with the history behind this boot company. The only regret I have...is that I didn't get a pair of Fyre's sooner.

Fits great. I had a problem with other brands of boots fitting over my feet through the top...these have a very comfortable fit and look great. The leather is a bit gray versus the saddle leather brown shown.

Poor quality boots. I just received these and will be returning them. One boot is a full half inch shorter than the other! Very strange. Also, there are spots where the "whip stitched" parts come together that have glue holding the flap down. One spot had already came unglued, and it revealed the end of the whip stitching which was terminated in a simple half knot. Pretty poor for a boot that costs so much!

My second pair of Fryes, bought this style because easier to pull off than my others A great price for the this style of boot. I was a little disappointed in the overall colour. The brown appears to be faded and not the deep brown as shown on the pictures. That being said nothing some polish will not fix. The fit well with a little chafing at the calf I will try longer socks. I am flat footed so my left foot is a little tight but they are already getting comfortable right our of the box. I have worn them two days straight and they already feel like they are going to become my favorite boots.Great boot great price. Thank you Zappos.

Accurate sizing, great looking boot in brown, sturdy but comfortable. Good value for the price.

Man, these are my favorite boots. I bought them last winter and was sorry to see spring come. Well I'm wearing them again and am so happy. They are more comfortable than last year. The only issue I have is that there is a narrow piping up the left and right side of the boot that is not leather but a cheap vinyl. The piping is cracked and slightly reveals a white filler. Hopefully that piping is leather for this year's model. But these boots still get a 5.

Was not too sure about these boots at first I ordered thema half size bigger then I normally wear. They fit perfect. The only issue I had was the half sole seemed to slide back when I took them off. I decided to keep them anyway and add a rubber sole. That did the trick. The shoes feel good and look great. Not sure how they would wear in real work conditions as leather is quite soft but a real nice shoe to wear.

Great boot expect for one issue. The heel box is designed with sharp edges that may push into the ankle joints. Be cautious: if you feel this when you try them on, it will only get worse as you wear the boots.

I have had the boots only for a short time but the quality of the boot seems to be poor. The first pair had defective heel cups that cut into your ankles and I returned them. This pair, which seemed good in the house, I wore outside a couple of hours so I can't return them seem to be cutting in the heel area and part of the inner lining is separating. In looking at the heel cup on this pair, it appears to be excess that was not cut right just like the first pair but I didn't see it while trying them on in the house. On one foot it is fine and the other it is not. So, if you are considering these boots, beware of quality. There is a good chance you will be disappointed. This is a shame because I used to associate quality with Frye. When I got them I was excited because it was a timeless style I have been looking for and I thought I would be getting a pair of boots that would last, be comfortable and would be my choice to wear. However, my Red Wing, Ariat and Double H boots are made far better made than these and I never had this issue with any of them! The size (length and width) are right on and the form is good. The leather is soft and supple. The third part, assembly, was poor and substandard. They look fine on the outside, it is the assembly that is off. After looking at them more closely I noticed the pull loops had excess in the shaft where one side was tacked correct with no excess while and the other was long. The lining on one boot shaft is snug as it should be while the other is loose (appears to be separating from the outer liner). Right now I am glad I got these at the discounted price. I also can safely say I will not get another pair Frye boots. Some comments suggest it is because they were made in Mexico. I don't know if that is it. They are still accountable for a quality product that has their name on it. So if you get a pair of Frye boots, wear them on carpet and walk on them a lot. It will give you the opportunity see the defects and return them. I believe my only option now is to contact Frye and see what I can do. With all of the critical comments being being said about these Frye boots, I want to comment on Zappos Customer Care and their return process. Simply put, it can't get any easier or better. They are outstanding! On the first pair, when I contacted them they were eager to help. The rep was courteous and responsive. When I asked to return it for an exchange (because I mistakenly figured the second pair would be just right) she not only got the return label to my email but she had the exchange already ordered while we were doing the online chat! That is service! She made me feel at ease and embodied what support should be. For the record I have not contacted support to return the second pair of boots because I wore the boots outside and I don't think it would be fair of me to ask them to take them back after that. The soles have been marked up and I don't think they could return them to Frye like that. My wife was so impressed she is considering to start using Zappos. She wouldn't consider online order before because getting the right fit is hard and she doesn't want to keep returning items since it is a hassle and a cost. Well she learned there is neither a cost nor a hassle in dealing with Zappos. The biggest hassle is dropping the box off to UPS or the post office.

I ordered these boots for my husband. I have long loved Frye boots and own a few pair. They were beautiful coming out of the box, but from the moment he put them on, problems with the construction became clear. The foot bed started pulling up just from trying them on. In addition, the leather on the front panel was clearly coming away from the boot, exposing a sticky glue substance. He literally put them on and walked around the house for less than two minutes before the problems started to show. Not what I would expect from Frye and certainly not a boot at this price point. Needless to say we sent them back. The worst part is that I had to talk him into buying a boot this expensive, claiming how much better the construction was and how long he would own them for. Now he's not interested. Very disappointing.
