This boot is perfect for what I was looking for: a water resistant boot good for hiking in wet and muddy conditions. The boot is not entirely waterproof, so you want to keep the water\/mud level below the top of the rubber lower boot. The fabric upper will admit moisture if submerged, however it can withstand quite a bit of dew\/rain\/mud before you feel it on your socks. The other use for which it is perfect is shoveling snow, or plowing with the ATV. Wear some heavy socks, and your feet will not get cold. I have large feet, and these boots have plenty of width for me, but there is no sloshing around inside. Fit is excellent. Laces needed to be replaced in less than a year, so I guess that counts as a complaint.

These boots fit my feet perfectly! I have high arches and wide feet. I rated the boots "wider than marked," but they are definitely not too wide for me. I usually have to order a 1/2 size larger to accomodate my width, but not these. Perfect multi-purpose boot, neutral enough for me to wear to work, comfortable enough to wear casually or all day walking, rugged enough to hike on a muddy mountain trail. I was looking for something with a little more style, but after walking around in these for a few minutes, I didn't care what they looked like. They are amazingly comfortable.

Second pair of the Bugaboots and really like them. They do a good job of keeping your feet warm and dry without being heavy and uncomfortable. Wore them at work all day, was on my feet most of the time and no problems.

For the past year I've been supporting science here in Antarctica. I walk 10+ miles a day on snow, sea ice, and volcanic rock. The Columbia Bugaboot is the most comfortable shoe that I have ever worn. I wear the boots in -30 and colder weather and my feet stay toasty warm. Like any good cold weather boot you want to allow space around your foot to trap heat and allow your socks to wick away sweat, because of that I would recommend wearing a size larger than what you normally wear. As everyone knows cold + cotton = death, stay away from cotton socks and spend the extra money for thick synthetic or wool socks. In extreme cold the plastic eyelets near the top of the boot have become brittle and have broken off, mainly because I tend to tie my boots to tight. It is very dry here so I would also recommend applying and oil to the outside of the boot weekly. Best boot I’ve ever worn. When I come back to the states, I’m going to miss wearing them.

Awesome boot - wide feet need the wide width - Hi everyone, just a quick note on sizing. I'm an 11.5 4E in New Balance shoes, and these boots fit perfectly in the size 11.5 WIDE WIDTH version (not the medium width) with a pair of hiking socks. It's a great boot, but if you have wide feet, try to find the wide width version that they made last season. Zappos had a few left last time I checked. Good luck!

These are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. It feels like you're walking on clouds! Coming from WI, we see more than our fair share of heavy snowfall. These boots are built for it and more. They keep your feet warm and the snow out. I went with a half size larger and they felt perfect. Highly recommended!

This boot is very comfortable and warm. The padding is excellent and the tread has really good grip on snow and ice. I would definitely recommend as a utility snow boot, which is much more comfortable than other snow boots I've owned in the past.

These boots are great. I had the first pair of them and they put up with a lot. Finally, five years later they gave out and now I'm on this new pair. I actually bought both colors.

I wear either size 14 or 15 so typically have a great deal of difficulty finding shoes in stores. Found these boots in a size 14 in one of the big box stores and loved them but they were too small. Ordered the 15\'s from Zappos and had them the next day. Use them for snowblowing. They are extremely comfortable, warm and waterproof. Was a great choice. No online company beats the service provided by Zappos. They set the standard and raise the bar in terms of expectations of other on line retailers.

I have been using these boots for years in my line of work. They truly are water proof. I can work outside in pure rain for hours on end and not worry about wet cold feet. I highly recommend these boots if you plan on being in wet climates.

I was completely satisfied with these boots. They arrived at my house 2 days after ordering via online. They are extremely comfortable. I took the recommendation of another review and ordered a half size higher and I am glad I did. I live in Montana and these are great for the snow or slick ice. They have amazing traction and warmth. I would definitely recommend these to someone.

Best boot on the planet - If you are looking for a smaller boot that is not too bulky this is it. Water proof, and extremely warm.

Great Boots! My son loved these boots because they are light and comfortable. He does not like the high boots and these are perfect for him because they provide him with enough warmth for fishing and sledding. They are great for all of his outdoor Boy Scout activities as well because he can get around so easily in them. They are waterproof and made to last as well.

Great, not perfect - I bought these on the recommendation of a friend who swears by them- he's a plumber who often works outdoors in lousy conditions. During a recent bout of subzero temperatures I was working outside and they came in mighty handy. Salty slush, 6 inch deep snow... the whole nine yards and I was warm and dry throughout. My only complaint is that the top rubs along the back of your calf and mine got a bit irritated. Other than that, great shoe.

Waiting for snow - Boots are comfortable and just a little stiff. Bought them for the winter weather and still waiting for snow.

Warmth and comfort - My son received these boots as a gift. Just being able to find a pair of boots in his large size is a miracle in itself. Many times when I am able to find a shoe that fits him, they are usually out-of-date and too old for him. These boots are both stylish and warm. My son needed a boot that will keep him warm and dry as his job requires him to be outside during the winter months. He finds that these boots are just what he needed to get through this cold and wet winter that we are experiencing here in Chicago. Very pleased - I bought these boots for my husband for Christmas based on a very positive review from a family member. I wound up giving them to him early due to a snow storm. His feet were very warm and dry!

Trouble finding any faults... This is my first pair of real winter boots which was necessitated by a fall/winter move to Madison, WI. I was able to give them a good work out last night and tromped around town in knee-deep snow. My feet remained dry, toasty, and planted. I wear a 10.5 but often have to go up a half-size to get the width right for my feet. I went with the 10.5 and the fit is spot-on. I couldn't be happier with the comfort level. Most of the boots I've had in the past didn't have much in the way of comfort, but I find myself looking forward to wearing these. There hasn't been any "breaking in" period, as they have felt good from the start. I was surprised at how light-weight the Bugaboots are. Lighter than a pair of ankle-high Doc's I recently retired. I also appreciate the loop on the back of each boot for a little extra help pulling them on. All-in-all, I am extremely satisfied with my introductory purchase from Zappos and plan on coming back when I need my next pair of shoes.

Have worn these on several zero degree days and they’ve been nice and toasty. No break in period required, were comfortable right out of the box. Wore them for an entire weekend straight without any discomfort. I’m usually a 10 and a 10.5 fit perfectly.
