These are the best running shoes that I have owned in years. I used to live near a sporting goods store that sold Avia shoes and I had always liked them. I have since moved and it has been difficult for me to find stores that sell Avia, so I had been wearing New Balances, which are not nearly as comfortable and durable as Avia. After finding these shoes on Zappos, I was so happy! I bought the A5020M and they are awesome! These shoes have the same great quality that Avia has built its reputation on. My feet feel much better after runs with these than my old New Balance shoes, and I can feel the extra stability that you get with Avia's cantilever system which is built into nearly all oof their shoes. It not only helps with cushioning, but also stabilizes the heel, preventing injuries.

These are just what I would expect for the price. They are nice looking and fit, but seem flimsy and probably won't last long. So as I said, I'm happy with what I got for the price.

My 15 year old son has had three pairs of the Avia 5020 over the past few years. He likes the look, and they have good support for his wide, size 13 feet. I like them because they are durable and easy to clean. He plays football and trains in these shoes, so he is constantly getting them dirty, but they can be washed in a washing machine and come out looking good as new. I'm glad that he likes Avia because he can get several years of use out of them, despite being really hard on them. I once got him a pair of Nike Shox, which he destroyed in a week, so now all he wears is Avia. He has been getting the red and gray style Avia 5020, but now that Zappos sells the shoes in black, I will probably buy those for him next year. Zappos is the best way to buy shoes, without a doubt!

At first glance, Avia may appear to be your typical athletic shoe manufacturer, but when you take a closer look, you will notice what sets Avia apart from the competitors. With brands like Nike and Saucony, lightweight shoes tend to have problems with stability. That is not the case with Avia. The Avia A5020M is a very lightweight running shoe, yet it is also one of the most stable shoes I've ever worn. They are so stable that it is nearly impossible to get injured while wearing these shoes. Avia must put their shoes through rigorous testing while they are being designed, and it is clearly evident in the quality of the A5020M. These shoes are very well made, and as the other reviewers have stated, they are extremely durable and long lasting. I, being a heavier runner, would agree with the others who said that these offer enough support for heavier runners. The arch support is great, and the best thing is that they come in a true wide width. The price tag is amazing, considering that these are such a nice pair of running shoes. I would also suggest that you order one half size larger than you normally would since Avias do run a bit small.

My four year old pair of Avia A217M running shoes finally started to wear out last month, so I looked online to find another pair. The A5020M by Avia seemed to be the closest match, so I bought a pair. These have the same great Avia feel that drew me to the brand when I bought the A217s four years ago. They are probably the most sturdy running shoes I have ever worn, and I don't see anything that could cause me to ever buy a shoe not made by Avia. You have to wear these to see what is so great about them. I try to run every day, and a durable shoe with lots of support really makes running a pleasure. I think that anyone who runs should own a pair of Avias.
The other great thing about them is the unbeatable variety of sizes and widths. Before I bought my first pair of Avias, I liked New Balance, which also makes a good shoe for a wide foot. New Balance shoes provide a good fit, but I've found that Avia is better in terms of performance.

I am not a runner, but I like a good solid training shoe that I can use for dorking out. These Avias exceed my needs and have great support, especially for the arch and heel. Plus, they are definitely built to last, as mine are over a year old and I am hard on shoes. I will buy these again.

I bought these about a year ago, and they are excellent. I ran in them right out of the box and they felt great, and they have been great ever since. The arch support is phenomenal--much better than any Nike I\'ve owned. I wear these for running and working out and they perform better than any other shoe I\'ve ever owned. The shoes are very sturdy and the secure fit prevents my feet from sliding around in the shoes. The shoes have a nice rigid arch support that doesn\'t bend, improving the overall torsional stability of the shoes. I have ran in many shoes that cost much more than the Avia 5020, but none have this comfortable and stable. I strongly recommend this shoe to anyone who runs or plays sports that require running shoes. These will not let you down.

Good quality wide shoes can be very hard to find, but Avia always delivers an excellent product at a reasonable price. These shoes are well-fitting and amazingly durable. I have been wearing the same pair for almost two years now and just bought another since the old ones were starting to look old. I weigh around 200 pounds, so obviously the shoes need to be very supportive, which Avias always are. The lacing system is nice because it is easy to adjust how tight they are, since I prefer a tighter fit for running and a looser fit for casual wear. I mostly like them because they are comfortable, but they are also nice looking, in my opinion. I would definitely recommend these and will continue to buy them as long as they are produced. I don't see anything that Avia should change about these. They are perfect, especially when combined with Zappos' service and shipping upgrades!

I like how well these shoes hold my feet in place. Avia running shoes tend to be even more supportive and comfortable than my second favorite brand, New Balance. They are also well ventilated and very stable.

On the advice of the other reviews I ordered 1\/2 a size bigger and it was the right thing to do. Great shoe, very stable and good arch support

I run at least once a day, so a good pair of running shoes is very important. I was recommended to Avia several years ago, and they have never let me down. These shoes are reallly tough. I\'ve had some pairs last for over two years. These have good support, and are fine for my high arches. I always have to buy wide, and they fit perfectly. Avia tends to run small, so you may have to order larger than normal. They are very stable, but very light as well. The ankle support is unsurpassed by any other shoes that I have worn and the interior of the shoes is extremely well padded, so they provide a really secure fit. I honestly can\'t think of anything about this shoe that I don\'t like.

I don\'t know what I would do without these running shoes. I have had so many different brands, but the Avia A5020M is always the best, most comfortable fit for me. Arch support is better than it needs to be, and the shoes last long. These shoes are the reason I\'ve started running again. Zappos, please don\'t stop carrying these!

I\'ve never owned a more comfortable running shoe than these. Avia is the only brand of athletic shoes that I can wear for over 6 hours without any pain. They have worked well for running, as well as walking and waiting on long lines. I have some Adidas and Nike running shoes, and none have been nearly as comfortable as my Avias. The 5020 is my favorite Avia that I have owned so far.

My son started wearing these shoes about three months ago and he really likes them. He has been wearing them almost non-stop and says they're really comfortable. His last pair of shoes were also Avias and they lasted over a year, so I bet these will too. He runs a lot and is hard on his shoes (he doesn't mind abusing them) so they have to be high quality. That is the main reason that I buy him Avias. The durability is the best part, but there is no need to sacrifice comfort.

I love running in these shoes. They not only look great, but they are also the most comfortable pair of running shoes I have ever owned. They still look and feel new, although I bought them in January. They feel very stable, and the arch support is great. I run almost everyday and really like these shoes, but they would also be good just for everyday use. You could probably use these for weight training too, since the midsole is a little firmer and more stable than most running shoes. I would highly recommend that you order a half size larger than you normally do, or else they will be tight. I generally wear a 4E width in New Balance, and the Avia 4E is exactly the same.

I actually bought these Avia shoes while trying to buy the Nike Air Monarch which they didn't have in my size (13/4E width). These turned out to be just as good, if not better than the Nike shoes. A good quality wide width shoe can be very hard to come by. I like to run everyday, and I found these shoes to be very comfortable as well as durable. They feel nice and stable, so I don't have to worry about any ankle problems. They have nice arch support too. Considering how inexpensive these are, I think that I will get one more pair for backup.

As much as I like New Balance for its wide range of styles and sizes, I truly believe that Avia running shoes are better for me. I have been running in Avia shoes for quite a few years and have always liked them. Recently, I have become interested in the comparable New Balance line of running shoes. Both New Balance shoes that I have bought, the MR740 and MR760 have caused me both backaches and foot pain, neither of which I got while using Avias. Also, despite the lower price of the Avias, the 5020 also seems to be more well made, since I can get more mileage out of them. Thanks to these shoes, and all Avias for that matter, I can run without any pain. What puzzles me is why nobody else seems to have problems with New Balance. Either way, I will always count on Avia for my athletic footwear needs, since they have served me well for nearly an entire decade.

The Avia 5020 is a great shoe for both beginners and more experienced runners. They have everything I need. They have good ankle support, arch support, traction, and a nice rigid midsole. An added bonus is the durability. I would strongly recommend these. Do not be fooled by the low price tag, as these shoes are very well made and the materials are all top quality. Definitely order one size larger, as they run a bit small compared to other brands.

These shoes are surprisingly comfortable. I was concerned since I got them at such a great price. I have an extremely wide foot, and these fit just right. Wish it had more cushion in the heel though.

This is the third pair. I've bought three pair of these in five years. They are great for the price. I bought the latest pair from Zappos because getting the exact size with the width I like is difficult at other stores.
