Athletic shoe that blends in with business casual -
If you're looking for a comfortable shoe that is unobtrusive enough not to be noticed when you're not working out, this can fill the need. I need a presentable shoe that is comfortable and can accommodate an orthotic.

I really like the shoe. As a woman with big feet who can NEVER find shoes - this shoe is great! My feet are big and narrow, and apparently the shoe industry doesn't realize that my feet exist - guess they never watch WNBA games. Shoe is great!

Great Walking Shoe -
I was having foot trouble after buying cheaper shoes that were not designed for walking but all of those issues have been resolved with these shoes. They are without a doubt the most comfortable walking shoe I've ever owned.

I can only wear NB shoes. I have plantar f., spirs, & sprained ankle. The 845 seems a little bit better than the 844. Of course, you need to put in better inserts/arch support.

I wore out my 844s so decided to try out the 845s. Very comfortable from the first time I put them on. Fit was right on. I have flat feet and the rollbar and abzorb give me great support.

The 845 is a much better fitting shoe than the 811. Also the 993 pair that I recently bought are sorry fitting shoes compared to the 992. The 993 pair cost me several trips to the foot doctor until it was determined that the shoes were at fault. The 845 eliminated the pain.

Good but not great, especially for the price. Fairly comfortable, but as a stability shoe I was hoping for more arch support for my flat feet, and these just don't quite cut it unless I swap out the insoles for more support. Shouldn't have to do that for the price of these shoes methinks...

This is the first time I've bought MW845s. I did so because my usual shoe, the MW 927, was temporarily out of sufficient stock. I've been buying New Balance walking shoes for about 5 years; very satisfied with their excellent support and long lasting durability. The 845s did not disappoint! I'm a very heavy walker, over 250 lbs. weight, so I need a very good support shoe! If you are in this weight range or above, you'll find, as I did, that the 927 is even better than the 845. If not, you should be quite satisfied with the performance of the 845. I've worn Asics and Adidas. New Balance is a superior walking shoe. Buy 2 pairs at a time and wear each pair on alternate walking days. They'll last much longer that way! Finally, Zappos is the only place to buy your shoes if you value prompt, dependable service before and after the sale!

Ultimate comfort, but not durable. The 845s are comfortable right out of the box for sure, like slippers. Be aware that the uppers are made of stretch material and on uneven ground or running hard into a turn your foot can rotate inside the shoe a little bit. Not good if you have bad ankles, but this happens only if you're doing something more than just walking. My big complaint, however, is that these shoes only lasted me 5 months. I bought them in July '09 and put them in the trash November '09 (I'm a trucker and I work my feet hard all day long). These are the best light duty shoes I've ever owned but I don't think they are worth the price and they are certainly not durable.

Well made shoe, but sizing was off. Shoe was smaller and narrowing than expected. I recommend you order at least a half size bigger and a size wider than your normal shoe size.

I have had a lot of trouble with heel pain, and after reading advertising and some customer reviews, I thought this would be just the right thing for me. These are pretty good shoes, but quite a bit over rated as far as cost goes. I have been trying to break them in for gym shoes. They will not work as a good walking shoe for someone of my weight, 180 to190lbs. New Balance has some pretty good inserts that will help with arch support in these shoes.

If you are having foot problems with your arch or heels you might want to try a pair of Keen shoes or boots.

I had high hopes that this would be a suitable replacement for my discontinued MW575 since they share a similar last. Fit was OK and true to size, but the foot bed has a bump under the toes that I find extremely uncomfortable. It\'s probably there for stability, but I can\'t stand it. I\'m not a fan of the stealth-bomber-batman styling either (I prefer a plainer shoe).

Lightweight but too snug -
This shoe is attractive and lightweight, but it feels too snug. The way the thick padded tongue is attached makes the shoe harder to slip on than any other New Balance shoes I have worn. Plastic trim piece on back of shoe is also a bad design choice. I would not buy these again.

This shoe looked good but didn't work with my orthotics. It's a little too light for a big guy like me. Sent it back for the Brooks Addiction. It's more shoe for less money.
