These shoes lived up to my expectations and continue to reaffirm why I pretty much only wear Vans shoes. They're high quality, no defects, and fit as expected. The laces are the perfect size. I still wish Vans would go back to a slightly thinner, lighter shoe style like they offered before.

I wish I could do a half-star for comfort only because they can't really lace-up if you skips the top slots. I was just being lazy though, once I laced it up properly they were comfy af. I have worn vans everyday since I was 13 except for my brother's wedding (you could say I'm professional), and these I can confirm are indeed genuine. Well...at least they say Van's. Who knows what a shoe really is anyways. They look groovy. They even light up if you have an active enough imagination. Sorry it's hard to review perfect shoes.

These are my second pair of half cabs, the first pair weren't half cab pros, however. But I must say I like the improvements! They're overall a better made shoe, and the all black colorway is just undeniable (I'll cop another pair before they disappear) good strong leather. I do skate, but I'm not as hard on my shoes as some people are. I can tell when I do make the transition from every day kicks to skate shoes they will be just fine. People say "don't fix it if it isn't broke." I say this is an exception to that rule! Vans gets two thumbs up from me with the upgrades from half cab to Half Cab Pro! Get them, you like them. If you wear regular half cabs you know they run a little big like a half size or so. The Pros aren't like that! Get your regular size. Hope I helped!

These shoes are dope, I been wanting these for awhile and they don't disappoint.

One of the best shoes that Vans has ever come up with. Extremely comfortable with the padding and very durable. Only thing is that the tongue is a little fat if you're not used to skateboard shoes.

My only other Vans before these were some MarvelxVans Eras, which I bought in a 9, but I needed a 9.5 in these. I like shoes that look good beat-up and these definitely look better the more I wear them.

So, you might ask yourself, "What makes these 'Pro'?" First: a better fit and finish. Much more well made than half-cab standards. Second: a really Ultra-Cush insole. Which is nice but has zero arch support. Why put in a cushy insole with no arch-support? I have flat feet and standing all day with out arch support is no bueno (not good). Third: no break-in time. Instant comfort like your favorite slippers. Overall I rate this as an improvement on the classic. Now just put in some freakin' arch-support! I mean, honestly shoe makers. Honestly. I swear.

A classic skate shoe upgraded with an improved footbed. Instead of the standard Vans flat sole, the Half Cab Pro has a footbed with gel in the heel and forefoot for increased cushion, but with the same Vans board feel you know and love. If you already are shopping for Half Cabs, spend the extra on Half Cab Pros, you will not be sorry!

Quality and construction is pretty bottom of the line. It is a great looking shoe and works well for the intended purpose - skateboarding. But for anything else, I would not recommend it.

I bought these looking for more support after rocking Converse for the last 5 or 10 years. This shoe was alright while it lasted but just blew the entire seam between the outsole and toe cap, after 5 months of usage. The shoes were not worn everyday and were only used for work at a hospital. No biking, no hiking, no skateboarding, no running, no working out. I will go back to my trusted Chuck Taylors.
