Walking is my exercise of choice. I have "foot issues"...such as pronation and sensitive fascia. I also have arthritis in my hands which made finding a walking shoe with stability and velcro straps (rather than shoelaces) important to me. I found the broadest selection of this particular style shoe at Zappos. The Brooks Addiction Walker V-Strap has the fit, comfort and support one could expect from one of the leading walking shoe manufacturers. It is well worth the price and I fully endorse this shoe for fit, comfort and quality. Because I had a question while viewing this shoe online, I called Zappos and was greeted with their customary good natured, efficient and helpful advice. I am so glad I followed Zappos advice regarding the width of this shoe as 67% of previous buyers felt the shoe ran narrower than the stated width. My foot is a bit wider than the B width I have had to accommodate in my dress shoes. Since Brooks offered this shoe in a Wide width, I decided to try it after speaking with the lovely sales associate and I am so glad I did! I'd previously purchased another shoe and had to return it for width reasons. As usual, Zappos expedited both the exchange and payment balancing with efficiency and utmost courtesy! Thank you once again, Zappos!

WW, Not Wide Enough - Unfortunately I will have to return this shoe. I was so excited to order it as the control of over-pronation was a big plus. Indeed, the balance and stability of the shoe is fantastic. However, the double wide is not wide enough for my super wide feet. It was comfortable at first, but then my smaller toes were squeezed too hard and with my delicate feet, I'm not willing to live with squeezed toes. Also, the top velcro strap is quite short, so I can foresee problems with lint sticking to the exposed rough part because the strap doesn't have enough reach. The insoles are great, in fact, if I were keeping the shoe, I don't know that I'd even have to use my orthotics in them because these seem tailor-made to help with pronation problems and provide excellent support. I'd trust these shoes not to skid in bad weather and to protect my feet. Another shoe that helps with pronation is New Balance, but those have toe boxes that are too short for me. They run too small and stiff and they are not deep enough to accommodate my orthotics. So far the only athletic shoe that has been long enough, wide enough, and deep enough for me is Saucony. I'm also going to try Pedors because neoprene is stretchy for my huge feet. Really wish these could have worked out because they are very good-looking for a young woman like me to wear.

These shoes not only are super supportive of the foot, but the toe box is high enough that my toes do not get pushed down. There is plenty wiggle room.

Excellent shoes for serious walking or just running errands. This shoes keeps my pronation problem under control and I can walk all day without leg or foot pain. Also, the velcro straps are great for easy on\/off.

I had to send these back. They were so small that the Velcro would not even go halfway across and my toes were pushing up against the toe box. I am very disappointed as my last pair of the same size Addiction Walkers (lace up) were the best walking shoes ever and they fit perfectly well.

Outstanding shoe for anyone who has had any major foot surgery, or have problems with balance. Custom orthotics fit very well into these soft pig skin shoes. The Velcro straps are wonderful for those in whom their feet swell throughout the day. I have 6 bolts in each foot, have custom orthotics, poor balance, and am on my feet all day long. I have been wearing these shoes for the past 6 years and even though I have tried to change my shoe style (using Zappos free shipping), I keep on keeping these shoes and send all of the other styles back after trying them on and being disappointed in their construction, how they fit, ect.on I have found that no other shoes in this category even come close to how good The Brooks Addiction Walker V-strap are (no I do not work for Zappos!) Also very good for people who are unstable on their feet, they have a wide base and since you can adjust the straps, you can customize how secure your feet are within the shoes. If you have bad feet or poor balance, try them once and you will never find anything else as good!

These are flat out the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I bought them for a 3 week trip to Alaska last year and I've been wearing them almost daily ever since and will buy another pair in a heartbeat. They are comfortable from heel to toe, so soft and cushiony; I've never had a pair like that unless I wear sneakers without heels. They are quite good at being slip resistant although I did slip once; nothing is perfect and I did a lot of hill climbing in Alaska without one slip and up and down a steep hill volunteering at a local shelter walking dogs without a slip; only on my own ramp at home did I slip, but that ramp is dangerous and steep. And it's hard to clean those velcro snaps if I want to nitpick. But all that is so minor. Flat out: best shoes I have ever had. And Zappos customer service is impeccable. They let me return another completely different pair so I could get these. It's those easy returns that keep you coming back.

I'm very happy with these shoes. They are lightweight, very comfortable, and have a little nerd-chic going for them. As a grad student, I walk to and from school (3 miles round trip), and have spent days walking around NYC very comfortably. The velcro makes them super easy to get on and off. The soles are thick enough that even if the ground is freezing cold, my feet are not. They fit me perfectly, but my feet are a little wide, so may not be the best for narrow feet. The one thing I've noticed that probably won't be the best when the weather is warm again is that they don't really breathe.

"Old lady shoes" were not on my fun list, but they are just what I needed in recuperating from surgery. They are so easy to put on and take off! What's wrong with being 68 anyway?

Stumbled on to these after doing a search for "best walking shoe" and having it come up from various merchants with great reviews. Was desperate for a good shoe for a fund raising walk. My training shoes had actually given me a blister on my arch...I know that's crazy! I wanted a shoe that was roomy enough for multiple socks in an effort to protect the blister and so I ordered these. They look like Herman Munster shoes, butT I love them. They are so comfortable. Would definitely get the black over the white. It is a lot of shoe and mine are a 6.

I am a chef and needless to say, I am always on my feet for hours at a time. This is my second pair of Brooks Walkers and I love them. Great arch and heel support. They are the most comfortable shoes I own.

I have three pair of Brooks Addiction Velcro-strap walkers and rotate them throughout the week. They are comfortable, supportive and wear well over time. I recently replaced my Monday/Thursday pair and was somewhat perturbed that the liner on the shoe had been changed, and that the tongue on the shoe is pieced with part leather/part liner. It's not a visual improvement, but doesn't seem to effect the comfort. I'll keep buying them as they have eliminated my need for orthotics; I walk 12,000 steps a day at work on cement and they are great shoes!

A keeper at last. I needed to order a half size larger, 11 up to 11.5, and wider, 3EE instead of W to get a comfortable fit for my painful and hammertoed feet; need lots of room as time goes by. I am sure if you have normal, healthy feet this shoe will fit perfectly as stated. Anyone looking for a shoe that has a roomy toe box and no irritating inside seams and rough inner construction (I find even in more expensive name brand walking shoes) will be thrilled with this shoe. I keep coming back to Addictions even when New Balance seem like "The Ticket".

Short strap on a good idea - I bought this style shoe for two reasons. The first reason was ease of getting shoes on and off quickly at the airports and the second was a swollen foot that needs more breathing room. The style would be perfect for both problems, but falls a little short. I rate this style less than perfect because the velcro straps are not long enough. I think a longer strap with tear-off type perforations would work better, that way the individual could customize the length to meet their own needs. Other than this the shoe is great. It is exceptionally comfortable and did not need any breaking in time.

I read all the reviews of this shoe and the ones praising it are 100% correct! I ordered the shoes on Wednesday afternoon - they arrived the next morning! I immediately put them on and have worn them every day since. Very comfortable! No break-in needed! I have a wide foot and the W width fits perfectly! Thanks!

Finally, the perfect shoe for arch and ankle support. A broken heel makes it hard to find a shoe that eases the pain of everyday walking. This shoe does it. This pair has become my 'garden shoes' and 'work boots'. Walking over uneven surfaces has never felt so secure. So, I gotta get another pair I can keep clean for important stuff like, 'going shopping'.

I love these shoes! I read the reviews and saw that they could run small and narrow, so I ordered a half size larger and ordered a wide, and they fit perfectly. They were comfortable the first time I wore them, and the velcro closers are so helpful since I have back problems.

Zappos is unbelievable. I ordered these shoes late Wednesday afternoon and received them at 10am Thursday morning. You guys and these shoes are great! Brooks Addiction Walkers are very comfortable and supportive and are great to work in. I am a nurse and have had a few pairs of these, both tie and velcro. They can't be beat and I will come back for more when needed.

V-Strap Addiction Walker is an answer to my prayer. I walk 5 miles a day and I used to wear the regular Brooks Laced Addiction Walkers, but the tongue alway moved to the left and bugged my foot afterwards. The V-Straps never move and are always in place for walking comfort. Thank you for making a comfortable shoe to wear all day. I love them.

The Brooks Addiction Walker V-Strap is a great shoe, with wonderful cushioning in the sole and nice snug support in the ankle. I've been buying the Brooks Addiction for a while, and last year, on a whim, decided to try the velcro version. The velcro closure is super quick and adjusts easily to "summer" and "winter" weight of socks. Five stars for this shoe!

Very comfortable. The toe box is nice and roomy. I’m not sure that these shoes control pronation as much as my other Brooks because I don’t feel the same pressure on my arch but then again I don’t seem to have any of the leg pain I have when I wear "regular" shoes. Very comfortable for my 13 hour on my feet shifts.
