Redesigning a classic is a tough sell - There are several differences between this shoe and the original Samba. First, the sole is a different type of rubber. The original has a gum outsole that is darker. The new tongue is an improvement; it's shorter (looks better) and has a new imprint that looks cool. The heel has a new Adidas imprint that looks cool. However, the heel cup is lined with a synthetic leather that is very uncomfortable. I much prefer the original felt fabric heel cup of the original Samba. I don't know if the pain would go away after break in; I didn't keep them long enough to find out! I also compared this shoe side by side with the original Samba and it runs EXACTLY a half size smaller.

Order a half size up - These shoes are great for a clean, cool look. They work with jeans, khakis, even a suit (if you live or work in a hip, modern environment). They do run small, I wear 11, ordered that size and they fit extremely tight. 11 1/2 is perfect -- Zappos handled the return perfectly. Requested a return label on a Saturday via cust service. Arrived in my inbox and the new order was delivered that Monday!!!! Outstanding...

blue adidas sambas - These sambas look good - but more like retro sneakers rather than a performance look. Also, people reported to get one half size larger because they are sized small but I disagree. I would get the usual size.

Can't Walk in These - I love Sambas. I've owned lots of them, but when these came in the mail I put them on and after two blocks of walking had blisters on the side and back of my heels. I put insoles in, which stopped the shoe from rubbing off my skin but that made them way too tight. I just hope they will get much better with break in time.

Great sneaker - Samba by Adidas is great. I ordered them in black & in white. They felt comfortable as soon as I started wearing them. No "break in" time.

Perfect! But... This shoe is glorious. But be warned: do not buy a size too small or even a half size too small!! If you get too small you will be screwed! Get the size you get with all other shoes. Do not be alarmed if it feels [A LITTLE] tight when it comes (mine were, but just a bit) it took a week to wear them in because my ankle rubbed funny on one side. ONCE WORN IN THEY ARE GORGEOUS!!!!!! I have found the perfect pair. I just bought a second pair just to have for future, they are that perfect. Please do not get even a half size too small!!!!!!!!!! I wrote true to size because after wearing them for a few minutes they were starting to feel right on- just at first they feel a little tight--it's ok.

Half size smaller than other Sambas - I was confused by the reviews stating that these are a half size smaller than marked. I didn't know if that meant a 1/2 size smaller than other shoes marked the same size, or a 1/2 size smaller than other Sambas. Many of you who love Sambas like I do, and intend to wear them for the rest of your lives will probably want to know that the size 10 pair I ordered felt a 1/2 size smaller than the other Sambas I have in size 10. Of course the return process is a piece of cake and I will get my size 10.5 Sambas shortly, but it would have been nice to know that distinction before-hand.

Love it - Great shoe! Bought it for my daughter for indoor soccer, but she is wearing it all the time because it is so comfortable. Loves the color (sand) because it goes so well with a lot of what she wears.

"Ah. These are great!" These shoes are so beautiful, it's almost a shame to wear them rather than just sit in your room and stare at them. They have a classic, sleek silhouette without the huge tongue that normal Sambas have. The green stripes and the gold lettering are perfect and what colors would look like in heaven. The tongue looks like its plastic but it's not; it's nice and thin and flexible unlike that of the Gazelle 2. These Sambas may feel a bit stiff at first, but it's probably only because I'm used to the Dragons I have been wearing for four years, such a long time that the leather is now as flimsy as any of my canvas shoes. So you know shoes like this get better with age in terms of comfort and style. As Bill Murray exclaims in The Life Aquatic when trying on vintage Adidas ROMs, a similar shoe: "Ah. These are great!" A lot of people said you have to get a half size higher than normal. I ordered an 11.5 which is the same size I wear in my Adidas Dragons, Adidas Gazelle 2's, Adidas Superstar 2's, Adidas Forest Hills 82's, Adidas Kareem Lo's, and Converse Jack Purcells. But I wear an 11 in Chucks and Vans Authentics. So now you will know what size to order if you know what size you take in any of those shoes.

Speedy Delivery! Bought these shoes 2 days ago and they just arrived. Best online purchase I've ever made. Getting here in 2 days with 7 inches of snow outside my house is quality service. Shoes fit true very comfy.

Great shoe, the kids love them and are comfortable and nice and neat looking.

LOVE THEM!!! This is a great style shoe with good comfort and support (according to my teenage son). He is very particular about his shoes, and hasn't taken these off. The nice low profile works great with the slim jeans bottom.

Beautiful Kicks - The shoes were delivered incredibly fast. I ordered them at night and they arrived the next afternoon. Sambas are classics that everyone should own. Comfortable, stylish and classic, these kicks are amazing!!

Excellent support and flexible - I am in a pretty active form of theatre and these shoes support long rehearsals and the walks to and from the rehearsal. They are holding up well as the rough Chicago winter approaches and I imagine they'll last me through to the next one. The orange accents on my pair are just enough to be fun but not too much so that I can't wear them with any casual jeans-and-shirt combo.

Running small but hot - I picked these up a few weeks back and had to send back a different size. I'm a pretty strict 11 and I went to a 12. They fit great, look even better and I get compliments right and left.

Sambas - Originally I ordered the size I usually wear, men’s 9. They were a little tight and snug so I then returned them for a man’s 10. These still didn't fit as well as another pair of Sambas that I have but I love the style and look of the shoes and I kept them. Briefly, I loved ordering from Zappos since I couldn't find those "old style" shoes anywhere. You made the purchase and exchange the easiest ever. I will be ordering again. You are the best!!

Perfect!!! When I first opened the box I was in marvel about how wonderful these shoe looked, but as I put them on I noticed how stiff and hot they were, but I kept wearing them for about a week and sure enough, they became broken in. Tongue loosened up and the back became less of an issue, but they definitely became better. I don't know about the arch support because I have special inserts for all my shoes. The only remaining problem is the crease in the front part from the breaking in.

Samba-licious - I have very flat arches and somewhat narrow feet. These are comfortable, but for me, Asics is the best fit with equal style.

Cute - I really like these shoes, they're very cute. There are two set-backs, they feel 1/2 size smaller than what they say they are and the back of the shoe rubs on the back of your ankle for awhile (until you break it in). Just an FYI.
