Zappos has unbelievable service. I ordered the coat one evening and it was at our doorstep the next day. Also, although we didn't need to, we had the ability to return our purchase with free shipping. I will check Zappos site from now on when I am ordering online. The coat is perfect. I bought it for my daughter in VA and it is just what she needed. I am very, very happy with this purchase. My only complaint is that I wanted to buy another one and there were no small sizes left.

I am very happy with the parka overall. It is very well made, comfortable and also stylish. It is warm although on very cold days, I still need an extra layer underneath.

This is the winter coat I didn't know I desperately needed. I had no idea it was possible to be this warm and comfortable in such frigid weather. This parka is figure-flattering, extremely lightweight, and incredibly warm. I was pleasantly surprised to find a fleece lining on the inside of the sleeves that covers that last few inches around the wrists. Little details like that compound the overall fantastic impression that this jacket has made on me. I have worn this from the bitter cold city into the climate-controlled mall and never felt like I needed any more or less of a jacket. I enthusiastically recommend this parka.

Love this coat! Super warm but yet lightweight. The length is nice and the detachable hood is a great feature. Would definitely recommend!

I bought this jacket so I would stay warm on 30-45 minute winter walks with my dog. So far I love it. I pair it with Bogs boot and nearly my entire body is shielded from the cold/wind/rain/snow. This jacket is very warm, perfect for being outside for long periods of time in the cold. I definitely recommend!

It's been brutally cold in Chicago already this winter (temps below zero with the wind chill) and this jacket keeps me warm. I don't think any down jacket is particularly attractive, but this one is as cute as it gets. I got the shiny gray color and have received compliments on it. The length is perfect and it's very light for being so warm. I'm 5'7", 140 lbs and I ordered the Medium, which fits fine. I like to wear sweaters or sweatshirts during the winter, which I can do easily under this jacket without looking bulky.

I absolutely adore this coat! I love the length of this coat; it comes just a couple of inches above my knees so it doesn't look too overwhelming on my frame, but keeps most of my body warm the same time. I'm 5'5" and 120 lbs and the XS fits perfectly. I still have room for a sweater layered over a long sleeve tee. My only complaint is that the upper section of the arms are quite baggy, but at least I can move my arms around comfortably, especially if I have thicker layers on underneath. The jacket is so light, but does the job wonderfully. I was in Colorado last week and the temp was 15 degrees and snowing! I was quite warm with this coat on and a thick sweater. Definitely worth the investment.

I have a black short North Face coat that I have loved for 3 years now (doesn't show any wear). I was thinking that I wanted something longer for our MN winters so I ordered this coat in the grey. I originally ordered a Large like my short coat, but it was too big, and reordered a Med. which fits perfectly. The color of the coat is amazing; it's almost a satin look to it, and really a deep grey, so it's almost black. I love the color. Thank you Zappos for the quick service.

I purchased the North Face down coat for my daughter to wear when she supervises her students during outside recess. She lives in "lake effect snow" territory, so it's perfect. It's also quite stylish, so she can wear it to more than the playground. North Face is a quality brand and Zappos is a 10 for customer service. I never worry about selecting the right size because if it doesn't fit I can return it which is such an easy process at Zappos.

I bought this jacket this year and have been wearing it so far in DC for fall and early winter, mostly weather in the 30s or 40s so far. It's extremely comfortable and stylish. Love it! Whether I am heading to the office or walking the dog, I wear it almost every day! I have it in vintage white. The white does get dirty more easily, but I am planning to wash it soon. I hear you have to tumble / air dry properly in the dryer using tennis balls to fluff the down back up. A friend who has done it many times with other down items will help me with that. The vintage white is a great color, very stylish for winter. I am 5'3", curvy and a size 8, and the Medium fits me very comfortably, perfectly for shoulder and sleeves. Somehow TNF cuts their jackets so that whether you are 5'2" or 5'7", the sleeves still work for the person! I also own TNF's Triple C full length coat and love that, but I will probably need that one for colder, windier days now (when my legs get colder).

This coat is absolutely gorgeous. It\'s for our youngest daughter and that\'s all she wanted for Christmas. It\'s beautifully made and will keep her warm in our New York winters. The Zappos agent, Eli, was incredible. It was my 1st time purchasing anything on this website and he couldn\'t have been more helpful. Thank you Zappos for making a young lady\'s Christmas very special.

I ordered the Metropolis North Face Jacket and couldn't be more pleased. I received the coat the following day and it is the exact quality I'd expect from a North Face jacket. I love Zappos!

Love this jacket. Super warm and comfortable and not heavy and bulky as you'd think. I can see myself wearing this coat for many Chicago winters and being very comfortable and warm (not to mention stylish). If you are thinking of getting it, it also fit great in comparison to the sizing charts.

My wife wanted this jacket last year, but we were too late into the winter season and everyone was sold out. We usually use Zappos specifically for shoes, but were happily surprised that they had this jacket in stock (especially in an XS). The jacket runs true to size, and is everything that it has been hyped up to be. Thanks again Zappos.

Just received my North Face coat and I love it. It's lightweight and warm without the bulk. I highly recommend it. And the next day service is the best. I also bought one for my daughter for Christmas. Great price.

This is a great daily necessary for the winter. Although compared with it's previous version, I do feel the NF quality is down a little, it's still a light and warm, best choice for the winter.

Love, love the coat and the color. However, the zipper kept getting stuck and hard to zip up sometimes. Bad quality zipper. I exchanged the item for the Down with it Parka from Patagonia, really nice and great zipper!

Zappo delivered just as it promised. I ordered the Parka one evening at 10pm on line and it arrived the next day by noon. I was thrilled and finally warm in this very cold winter.

This is a beautiful jacket and well made with a gorgeous fur lined hood (I guess it's faux fur). However, it is snug around the middle for a large. I am tall and solidly built, at 61, not a slender youthful shape. But I have never had to wear an extra large in a jacket. Had to return it, sadly.

I bought this coat for our cold, snowy winters, but it's not as warm as I thought it would be. I have to wear a couple of layers in order to stay warm when I'm walking the dogs, but I still like it enough to keep it. The fit and construction are very nice as it should be for that price. I have long arms and the sleeves are just right. Also it's not too poofy like a lot of down coats. The hood is great as are the deep pockets and interior pocket. I think I will really like it for shopping, because it's so lightweight and comfortable for in and out of stores. I bought a large and I wear a 14 in most things so the fit is good. It doesn't feel tight with the extra layer of fleece underneath. I'm a big fan of North Face and swear by their skiing clothes, too.

I have this jacket in the shorter length (commuter and love it). I bought this longer length to wear with dresses - however, it doesn't work for me. It is cut straight and the bottom half is just too tight to be comfortable to walk to work in the city or sit on the train. This one will be returned. If you don't have lower half curves, then this will work for you.

I purchased this parka as a replacement for one I bought a number of years ago and liked very much. The new parka does not compare in quality or warmth to the original. I purchased one for my daughter as well and she agrees. Each of our coats are popping feathers daily. Would look for another brand next time.

While I loved last years Metropolis this years leaves something to be desired. I assume North Face is cutting costs with this new version. They have replaced the zipper tab with a cheap looking tab. The headphone hole in the inside media pocket is gone. The brushed fleece cuffs at the wrists are gone and this jacket feels a lot less fuller than last years. Even the sales person at the sporting good store commented that she wish she had purchased last years metropolis. I think this year I may have to go with the montreaux. I cant pay the same amount for less, I own several North Face coat and have been wearing Metropolis for years. I would have paid extra had they kept the features the same.

This coat is beautiful and incredibly lightweight, I love it! I ordered a medium but it's cut too straight for anyone who isn't as straight-hipped as a man. And if I got a size larger, I think it would bulge so much through the shoulders I'd look like a linebacker.

I never write reviews for products I've bought online, but this coat is amazing. Since I'm 5'11" and a size 14, it's nearly impossible for me to find coats that fit correctly (through the shoulders, arms, length-wise) and are warm enough for Michigan winters. This coat meets all my needs and exceeds my expectations. I ordered an XL and it's almost too big but has enough room to wear a sweater/sweatshirt or even a North Face fleece underneath. The XL hits just above my knees and has a double zipper so I can unzip the bottom a bit when I'm sitting down. The reinforced zipper flap and removable hood are also great. I'm 28 years old and it makes me feel a bit like a soccer/hockey mom but a stylish, warm one. I can't say enough good things about this coat so I'll just end with Buy It -- it's worth every penny!
