Great coat! I looked at this coat last year, but shied away do to the bad reviews about the sizing. Well, don't worry because they have totally reshaped this coat. It is so flattering, slimming, perfect! I can even have a heavy sweater on underneath and it still looks great. Warm, super lightweight. I got the bitter chocolate, which tends a bit toward the eggplant side. Really pretty. I wear a 6 and got the medium.

You can see the darker down feathers under the cream coat. It looks dirty, which is a shame because I really love this coat. It is super light, warm and cozy and very attractive styling. My sister loves it too. I am 5'6", 130 lbs and she is 5'8", 140 lbs and the medium fit us both nicely. Get a color other than the cream.

First, let me say I LOVE ZAPPOS. They're the best in customer service efficiency and friendliness. It's not their fault that this jacket isn't truly as warm as the Patagonia marketing description suggests. It's beautiful, but it's really more of a jacket LINER than a jacket. Sadly, I'm returning it.

Got this for my daughter, who is 15 -- it is elegant, light, and fits very well. Only weird thing is that, in certain lights, you can see the gray feathers through the white fabric. She still loves the coat, though.

I ordered and returned several down coats before settling on this one. I had had an incredibly warm, almost ankle length down coat before this, which wore out after 20 years (!). I have an athletic set-up (Gore-tex shell and pants, fleece, and polypro long undies) that I use for outdoor winter activities and sports. I also have a warm but short leather jacket, but it is short enough to let the wind up into my torso on cold Rochester days. Some comments by category: WARMTH AND FIT: This coat does NOT replace the long down one, in which I could have stood at a bus stop in bitter sub-zero windchill for an hour without feeling a thing. But I don't do that anyway, and with global warming, we have fewer of those kinds of days here. This coat is very stylish and fitted looking. I ordered a medium (I'm 5'6, 125) and can fit a fleece jacket underneath if it is very cold out, though it is a bit snug. For bitter cold, that, plus hat, scarf and gloves, and an extra layer of long undies under my pants, does fine. For the many days when it is in the 20's or 30's, I am totally comfortable without the sweatshirt, with gloves and scarf. To summarize, I picked a coat that is stylish, looks great, and is plenty warm on its own for mid-range winter weather, and warm enough with some supplementation, for bitter winter weather. And it is super-light. It is NOT a technical garment--it is seamed right through so you can feel the wind on your arms on a bitter day, if you don't layer like I described. But then you don't have to go around looking like the Michelin Man all the time, either! COLOR: the coat it is definitely not brown--I saw one other review that mentioned that and was surprised more didn't...it is a sort of very deep eggplant color with some brown in it, and the lining is pinkish-mauve. It looks great with my black scarf, black hat and black gloves. PRICE: I think it is pricey for the performance. At this price point, I think they could and should have put in more down, or a very light lining, and significantly enhanced the warmth without changing the stylish fit. I took a star off for this.

When I got this jacket, I was in total disbelief that it could be warm enough for the bitter cold, but it's done well for a jacket that weighs practically nothing. The jacket definitely runs big, which is fine as I usually wear a fleece underneath. I think the color is stellar (more of a maroon than brown) and the cut is great! I can be warm and not look like a figureless blob. I think the only downside is not having a hood, but a scarf and hat are an adequate substitution. All in all, a good buy, especially from a site that ships for free!

Beware of sizing - Great looking down coat. Really urban chic as far as down jackets go. I have a 34 chest and needed a medium in this coat. The back shoulder area is a bit snug when I reach up for a hug. Patagonia customer service said they have noticed this as a problem. Don't hesitate to try it since Zappos handles size exchanges so quickly. This is a fabulous web site with fab customer service.

I loved the fact this coat was warm and so light, unfortunately the color -Prussian Blue-was a big disappointment. It was quite dull and nowhere near as vibrant as shown online. Had a more attractive range of colors been offered, it would have led me to an exchange rather that a return. Too bad!

This is a very lightweight jacket, can't even tell you have it on. Very thin. I needed an every day winter coat for the east coast and this does not seem like it would work for me. I am 5'8" 140 lbs and the Med. was snug around the middle and hips. Also green looks darker in person than the picture. Returning for The North Face Metropolis.

This coat for its price seemed very flimsy and insignificant. The down was thin and the cuffs on the wrists were two elastics. For the cost and the name it comes with I expected it to be much more weighty for lack of a better word. Can't see it keeping me warm in these Northeast climates. Sending it back!

"Parka" is a misnomer. A better description would be "very light jacket" or perhaps "light sweater." This coat is so laughably thin it's nearly transparent. A nice jacket for a brisk fall day, but nothing you'd want to wear in winter. Certainly not a Boston winter. It's going back.

This is a good-looking coat, and surprisingly warm for its very light weight. But I agree that at this price it should be warmer! After wearing it for a winter, I wish it had cuffs at the wrist, and I wish it had a hood. (I wish I weren\'t on Zappos shopping for another coat for colder weather!) This is probably fine for a mild winter, in the 30s.

Don't buy this if you're looking for a warm winter parka. This coat is in no way a "parka"; it is not lined, can't compare with real down parkas such as North Face for warmth or as a weather shield on a cold winter day. The coat offers a flattering shape, is lightweight (like a long sweater), but lacks quality or any detail (including lining) that justifies the price! Additionally, the off-white is more like beige. I wear a women's size 10 and the Large, I purchased, is quite wide and doesn't fit nicely across the chest; too much fabric where the shoulders meet the bodice. I'm 5'5 1/2" and the length is good, as is the width across the hips. But I wouldn't normally wear a large.

This jacket was great in regards to fit and styling but there was a huge problem. Since the jacket was a light cream- you could see dark down feathers through the material making jacket appear dirty.

It's a yummy coat and I would keep it but the color is totally different than the photo. More of a wine, blue-based red. I wear a medium, ordered a medium and it fit perfectly. I am 5'8 1/2", 135lbs.

This is a great coat. It's perfect for those not too frigid days of winter, when the temps are in the 30s and 40s. I did have to go up a size from a small to medium. The small fit fine around the bust but I couldn't zip it around the middle, so I went up a size. It does pucker a little strangely at the bust like another reviewer mentioned, but I decided I liked it anyways. Also, the blue color is fantastic with my blue eyes. I love the brighter blue lining on the inside.
