Thanks Zappos - I just had to comment on how I appreciate Zappos, you folks are top notch. These ASICS are the best shoe I have ever owned, I haven't ran in over twenty years and wanted to start running again, I was able to run for longer than I have in so many years without pain I can't believe how great these feel on my large size 16 foot. I wear custom made orthotics for arch support and with this shoe I don't think I'll need to wear them. I tried the new balance 820 and they fit really tight, I returned them. Both the ASICS and the New Balance came in just two days. I love this store, I will definitely order here again!!!!!!

great shoes would definitely buy again - Great fit support and comfort is the only things that need to be said about this shoe. If you are having arch support issues and can't find a shoe to fit your needs then your search is over with this shoe. Feels like your putting on a pillow every time I put them on and yet they still have the firm support required of a shoe of this type. Great shoes and a great value!

This is a great shoe. The shoe is a bit still, but loosened nicely after a week or so. They offer great support and cushioning.

Shocked at how much I love these - I use prescription orthotics. This has made finding good running shoes an issue. I've been running on Asics for well over a year now. These are the best pair I've ever had. Love them, really.

Great for low arch foot runners - I read about the shoe from Runners World and it's the best runner's update for a motion control running shoe so I purchased one right away from Zappos.com.

The old Foundation 6 ran 1/2 size small, so I figured it would be the same story with the Foundation 8, even though most people called it "true to size." I should have listened because it's definitely true to size. I haven't run in the shoes much yet, since I'm laid up with an injury, but I have no doubt this is a great shoe after my great experience with the Foundation 6. The toe box does feel a bit roomier, which is nice.

These are great shoes for larger guys, guys who need great support and stability, and love the widths so that they can have a proper fit for wider feet. Nothing Nike makes compares to this shoe for the larger average athlete. Keep in mind, Asics makes shoes that work better for the average athlete, as opposed to the elite athlete who can wear and appreciate Nike shoes. So don't overlook this brand. It's great for more of us than not. And thank Zappos for their continued great service! Love them to death!

Great motion control shoe - I really enjoy running in this shoe. I had the Foundation 7 a couple of years ago and enjoyed them, but I like these better. I wear an orthotic insert and there is no problem with fit.

Great for heavier runners - This shoe is great for heavier runners. I have nearly flat feet and about 245lbs. Although I've only walked in them so far because of an injury, the heel and toe area appear to be able to take a pounding. I've had the Gel Evolution I and II which feels like you're running barefoot and the Foundation 7 feels like you're going to roll your feet outwards - not stable. If you're a heavier runner and a heel striker, I recommend these shoes!

Needs a little time - First few times I ran with this shoe it gave me blisters every time near the toe box and I was hesitant to keep wearing them. After a few runs though, everything feels perfect and the shoes give excellent support along with a good amount of cushioning. Great shoe for overpronators.

As advertised - Outstanding shoes for those with flat arches like me. See Runner's World, I think June 2008. Equally good are latest Brooks Addiction. These 2 two shoes are as good as it gets.

Excellent shoes! Great for running or just casual wearing. I have flat feet and a moderate case of pronation. After running with these shoes for the first time, I felt an immediate difference in the way the impact was spread throughout my legs. These are by far the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn that it makes me sad to take them off. I would recommend them to anyone.

I just purchased the Asics Gel-Foundation 8 walking shoes and they are very light weight, stylish, comfortable and have good arch support.

Almost perfect - I bought these because I have flat, wide feet and need the extra arch support and stabilization. I took the advice of previous reviews and ordered a half size up, so the fit was perfect. My only problem is a seam that exists on the top inside ankle area. It protrudes just enough to be irritating, and caused soreness for a couple of weeks no matter how loosely I tied them. (This improved after wearing them in.) It would be nice to have a few different styles to choose from, these all look the same! Overall these are very supportive shoes that greatly reduced my arch pain.

Good, not Great - 41 year old rookie walker/jogger with flat, wide, pronating feet. I ordered these in 10.5 4E and they seem a good fit for my 10 2E feet, so advice is to buy a half size and one width up from your normal. As for performance, I find this to be a very stable and supportive shoe with much-needed arch support for my flat feet. Only complaint is that they might have been a bit more cushioned, but I’ve only worn them a couple times, so they may soften up a bit with a little more break-in... at least I hope...

I recently bought an Asics Gel-Foundation 8 size 13EE. The upper fit me well. On my very first run things were initially going well and I was impressed with the motion control of the shoe. Unfortunately by the end of a 7 mile run, I developed 1" long blisters on the front of the arch on each foot. This has never happened to me previously with any other shoe. The problem is that there is a bulge near the front of the arch. I will not be able to run in this shoe since the problem with the blister is due to a design flaw in the shoe. If the design were altered to eliminate the bulge I would give this shoe a 5, but unfortunately the blister problem is a show-stopper for the Asic Gel-Foundation 8. Hopefully, this will be fixed in later versions of the shoe.

I have been using the Asics Foundation for approaching 10 years. I have to say that I found the colors and styling of this year\'s model particularly ugly. The first time I wore these shoes on a 5K run I developed small blisters on the front arches of both feet. This is particularly distressing since this was such a short distance and I have never developed blisters from all the previous models of the Asics Foundation. It feels like something changed in the form of the footbed this year that my foot doesn\'t agree with.

Arch Blisters that won' go away - I had been training on the predecessor to this shoe for months and had no problems. I was happy to move to the Foundation 8whne my old one's wore out. On my first run I developed lag and blisters in my arches. No matter what I tried, I continued to get blisters in this area. I held on to these through a half-marathon which was a mistake and finally switched out. The shoes provided great support and I really enjoyed the look and feel. I've searched on line and found that my others had the same issue. To the best of my knowledge, there is such an incredible degree of motion control that if you’re not severely in need, the shoes have too much pressure into the forward arch area. I'm sure it's great for some but didn't work for me.

I bought these shoes to try something new after going through 5 pairs of the Brooks Beast shoe. BIG mistake. I bought the first pair in a medium width, and they were so narrow it hurt my feet to wear them...I have relatively wide feet (generally to be expected of an over-pronator), but these were unbelievably narrow. I tried again with the widest shoes Asics makes and they are still too narrow (I get huge blisters) in the midsection and the toe-box is GIGANTIC. Frankly, for me...these shoes were awful. Two runs in and I can't run for the rest of the week because I have two MASSIVE blisters on my right foot and I have to wait for new running shoes to come in. Major waist of money. I recommend the Brooks Beast for anyone looking for a serious motion control shoe.
